BlackLotus 30 My sweet bunny Lara died this past Saturday, made me look back on everything I’ve done wrong and right and this channel could’ve been our savior, why didn’t I see it sooner.😭🤧💔💔💔💔💔
I've had my bunny for years & have NEVER noticed an odor on him or from him. He is free range & his potty area is cleaned daily which I'd think would be normal.
I got my Holland Lop bunny, Hamilton, shortly after watching your videos. I've researched all about rabbits for almost 2 years and I'm so grateful for you! This video helps me especially lol!! Thank you for aiding me in my adventures with my little bunny baby. I'm thinking about creating a blog about my baby--cause oh the adventures that occur when becoming a bunny mom is crazy.
@Lilee Bennett that would be so cool. I have videos about my rabbit white foot recovering from sever muscle loss and ear infection / ear mites. She is only 7 weeks into recovery but doing so much better already!!
Thank you so much for your channel and this was a terrific little vid. I did not know what I was doing with my first rabbit several years ago. It would have helped to have something like this then! With your helpful guidance, I've learned a lot about bonding with my new bun. Alice is a little Holland Lop that showed up on my porch one day. The neighborhood had become a dumping ground for abandoned bunnies. One of the neighbors brought her over and asked what to do. Well, I couldn't say, "Bring her to a shelter," now could I? That face. She melted me. I found your channel that day and have been hooked ever since. I wish I had fewer books in the house so she's limited to a smaller space off the back porch (inside and with a heater) but she quickly showed that she does not need to be in a pen. What manners! Watching you and Lennon has inspired me to be a good bunny mom. Thank you!
I'm learning everything I can in this amazing channel. In here I realized the rabbits are the perfect pets for me (is unbelievable how much I relate with their personality). Anyway, this channel is so so helpful, when I adopt my bunny I'll have all the knowledge needed😊.
You’ve helped me so much with my rabbit, I remember when I first got her from a flea market and they sold me a ginuea pig cage to keep her in. I found you a week later and started free roaming her. She loves roaming around and I find it to be less messy because there’s no bulky cage, I have cats so it’s really just one more litter box, a plate, and hay basket, and a water bowl. If it weren’t for your videos I don’t think my rabbit would have such a happy life, she even chases my cats around to play with them and sleeps on the couch with me and comes to the door when I get home. A cage wouldn’t allow her any of that freedom. Thanks so much for your videos! ❤️❤️
I got a $20 shop vac from Wal-Mart best money spent! I kept clogging my nice vacuum with hay it was awful. My bunnies are on carpet so I just got a brush attachment and the shop vac does wonders.
Man I swear sometimes I come home and see my space absolutely ravaged by my two bunnies...and Im like pack your shit lol but soon as they come up to me and love on me its all worth it
Miele vacuums are great. I've found bagless vacuums get clogged a lot more with bunny fur than bagged vacuums. Also a big shop vac is great for picking up hay. Love your videos! Lennon is so cute!
I don't understand the odor part. The only times my little guy smells is after he has been on the toilet, which is normal. I love his scent otherwise, so sweet and soft. I could fall asleep with my face in his fur if he'd let me, haha... Also, the vinegar is LOVE! It's the main product I use for cleaning his toilets and removing pee stains when needed. Wonderful video as usual Lorelei & Lennon
Lorelie, your channel is the most informative I've seen for living with a bunny. Th information you provide's *so* valuable and helps me to be an informed rabbit owner in the future; (can't adopt right now due to living situation, but have done all of my research on owning a bunny, due in no small part to you). Just wanted to thank you so much for what you do.
Great video! Shop Vacs are great for rabbit cleanup. They are powerful, don’t clog and have floor attachments. Some also pick up liquids. For brooms, I like the ones that come with a long-handled (waist high) dust pan so that I don’t have to bend over when sweeping debris into the dust pan. I use a 50/50 water/white vinegar mixture for all my clean up needs. Works great on urine, etc and has almost no odor.
This video was really helpful!! I love Lennon and Lorelei!! Lots of love from Arizona😊my bunny actually liked this video because he flopped on his side twice😊😊
My rabbit Buster passed away at the age of 8 last Thursday. He had heart failure. I miss him so much. He was a free roam bunny all the time and I actually even miss cleaning up after him. I am hoping to adopt another rabbit in a couple of months after I heal a bit. ❤️🐰
The Cloud That Drifted Away they are wonderful companions. But they require lots of work. Since they are prey animals, they take time to trust anyone. But it’s so worth it when they finally do. If you want a rabbit do lots of research and make sure you are ready, they require a good amount of time and money to take care of.
I LOVE YOU LORELEI AND LENNON! You are my inspiration... I have a 9 month old Dutch bunny named peanut! Love you girl!!!!! I want to be just like you when I’m older!
As a former bunny owner and current cat owner, I highly recommend the shark ninja canister upright vacuum with the true-pet mini motorized brush. It’s $260 on Amazon, pricey, but not bad for all it does. It literally does so much and I highly recommend to ALL pet owners :)
Thank you for all of your tips. They have made our Rupert much happier. She free roams twice a day during her active periods. Sometimes she even puts herself away.
Can I just say, a lot of these tips are great for guinea pigs as well. You are literally saving my life. You have no idea how many times I have have gone someone where and then they lean over and pull a piece of hay out of my hair. It just gets everywhere !
You are doing a great job educating bunny parents. I learnt everything when I got my 2 buns but still see people treating their buns wrong, I love how your videos are teaching others 🥳🐰🐰🐰❤️
I really want to get a bunny but I worry, worry, worry about cleaning and keeping a clean place to stay for me and my future bun. This vid basically...helped A LOT.😆Thanks so much Lorelei..😁😘
Thanks to you, I am very proud of my baby's and I am so glad you post videos of how to PROPERLY care for a bunny. I have partly potty trained my bunnies so far. They use the litter box when they need to pee or poop and they also eat there. sometimes they have accidents but not pee accidents. They are 2 months old and are very smart. I actually rescued them from a person who was selling them on Craigslist. The original owner had four baby girls and one boy, along with two bunny parents that were all stuffed in one cage. They had one big dog and a brand new litter of kittens. Honey and Hopper are happy being here at our new home and appreciate being free roam bunnies. I took your advice about getting a litter box (With hay, litter, and puppy pads) Heavy ceramic bowls (To help the bowls not tip) and I even learned how to make toys for them. I don't know what I would have done with them or what to do to help them if it weren't for you. Thank you Lorelei, and thank you Lennon :) Sincerely, A huge fan
I love organization and staying organized. My rabbit loves to make messes and reorganizing what he messes with its hard to stay organized when he knocks everything around so this video should give me some ideas (I AGREE WITH THE HAY ISSUE IT GETS EVERYWHERE)

I was given a bunny named Peter from a family that couldn't take care of him because they were scared of him after he had been gifted to them by some friends. I know nothing about his background like what breed he is or if he's neutered or not or even what age he is. All I know is that the only reason the previous family had been scared of him because he has really long and sharp nails. He lives in a bunny cage, it's fairly big but recently he's been trying to escape from if by trying to lift this opening from above the cage. He's a good boy since when I let him out, when and he no longer wants to be out, he returns to his cage. Recently though he's begun to nibble at me a lot. Even lick me but mainly nibbling. Is there like a certain meaning behind that or maybe a way to let him know when he nibbles too hard? Along with some other tips as to what I could do as a newbie to caring for him? I really just want him to be happy and definitely get him to be a free-roam bunny as soon as I can.
The little nibbles along with the licks is he is loving on you. He's trying to groom you like he would another rabbit. Rabbits will also give you a little nibble to tell you a move. To teach him bite inhibition (how to not bite you too hard) everytime he nibbles too hard make a loud squeak/scream as a rabbit would. It lets him know he's hurting you, he doesn't want to hurt you so he'll learn to be more gentle. Also you need to get his nails clipped he can hurt his little paws if they're too long. I did all of this with my bunny girl and she's all well and trained in those areas now ^_^. Read the House Rabbit Handbook and watch Lennons videos! They'll give you all the info you need on rabbits. There is also the house rabbit association website that has rabbit info too!
Congrats on rescuing your bunny. I'd suggest taking him for a wellness check at the vet's office. If his claws are too long, they'll be able to trim them. The vet will also be able to tell you if he's been neutered or not ( although, truth to tell, intact male bunnies are easy to tell... like all rodents, the males have rather large testicles). If he does need to be neutered, they'll be able to tell you how much that will cost.
Honestly his previous owners sound really neglectful. It's lucky he was able to get a better home with you. Rabbits need regular nail trimmings, which can be done at a vet, or at home if you know how and are confident. Living in a cage can make rabbits aggressive and antisocial, and they feel like you are invading their territory whenever you reach in, because they have so little space that is their own (imagine how mad a cat would be if it was kept in a cage, and then realize rabbits are just as intelligent and independent!). In addition, neutering is often essential for a rabbit to be well behaved and have a good life as a housepet. So, the two best things I think you can do right now are (1) replace the cage with an x-pen and (2) take him for a vet appointment to find out if he is neutered and if he needs any health care. The x-pen can serve as a transitional space until you are ready to have him free roam. It also makes a good confined space to start litterbox training and to prevent him from running around too much when recovering from neuter surgery. You can put a spillproof tablecloth or pee-proof doggie blanket beneath it to protect your flooring until he is trained. When you are ready to transition to free roaming, begin by letting him out of the x-pen for supervised playtime a few hours a day. This will let you see what kinds of trouble he is likely to get into, and then you can gradually start rabbit proofing your house. It will also give you an opportunity to intervene and put him in his litterbox if he tries to pee or poop. Increase his playtime as reward for good litterbox habits. Here is a reddit thread with advice for new rabbit owners. It includes links to example setups and where you can buy an x-pen www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/comments/a0ub64/any_advice_for_a_new_rabbit_owner/eal5e3s
I agree it sounds as if Peter's previous family was not properly caring for him, so a vet checkup is definitely a good idea, to make sure everything is okay. Lots of good advice on here already, so one thing that helped me is weighing your pet weekly or daily. This is not required as the vet weighs your rabbit during checkups, but it's a good way to catch illnesses early. (You can use a pet scale or use a regular scale by weighing yourself, then you holding Peter and subtracting the difference.) The weight should be consistent especially if done at the same time of day. Any change that is more than a pound is not normal. Other oddities that indicate illness is "gasping" (rabbits are incapable of breathing through their mouth because of the build of their tracheae, but will make "gasping" movements if there is a blockage, inflammation or just not getting enough air) Putrid odors from ears (infections) glossy eyes (should be bright and alert) and dry, flakey skin (dehydration, and rabbit skin is very elastic). Also rabbits have two kinds of fecal matter. One is goopey and soft (rabbits eat these cecotropes) and the other look like whole cloves are are usually 1/2-1 cm in diameter. I hope this is not overwhelming and a lot of these checks can be done while playing with your rabbits, feeding them and cleaning their environment. I've had a lot of experience with rabbits being sick, unfortunately, (and part of this is in my earlier rabbit experience was with misguided information) so these are things I became attuned to. The important thing is rabbits are prey animals and naturally try to hide their illness. By learning about your rabbits wonderful quirks and patterns of behavior, you'll learn what is normal for them. I wish you both the best of luck and happiness.
Rabbits are not rodents. They are Lagomorphs and need to eat a diet different from rodents Mostly hay, not grains life rodents with corn, nuts, etc. ) but there are similarities.

My bunny Emo is celebrating his first-year anniversary in our home today. We just transitioned him from a large ex-pen to free roam, and he is doing really well. Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks to make it easier. I would say that being in tune with your bunny and taking the time to really observe him or her is key. Once you know what interests them, what frightens them, what kinds of messes they make, you can deal with each one.
I love your bunny videos! Have you thought about adopting a little bunny buddy for Lennon? I always felt bad about having a single bun because everyone told me that they need a bonded bunny friend. My local bunny shelter does bunny bonding and I was able to find a nice fit for my baby. Now that my bun has somebunny to love, I get to see them binky and play together happily! Just a thought, keep doing you! :)
That is really common advice, but it's often not individualized enough. Bunnies can be just fine as single housepets so long as their humans have time to give them enough attention. Most bunnies are indeed happiest with bunny friends, but there are bunnies who just don't like other bunnies, or prefer the company of humans, or even cats.
I have 3 rabbits and one of them has to be kept separate because she will not bond AT ALL. The other two have bonded perfectly (I did the bonded on my own) and I am experienced in this so it isn’t that I’m not aware. She doesn’t like sharing her space and goes crazy. She loves my company but not my other rabbits so they are upstairs and I have her in the living room so I can see and spend time with her constantly.
Omg! A Popples clip! My nickname for my Holland Lol, Sophie, is my little Popple. ❤️ Maybe carrying hay is a Havana thing because mine, Lulu, does the same as Lennon. I've had my beautiful Havana bunny girl for six days. today she finally embraced her toilet and used it! such a proud mama. ;) it's so interesting to see how in under one week, she has already shown such progress. she's jumping around and letting me pet her and she doesn't get as startled anymore. she's such a good bun bun. she had been sitting in a small cage for 5 months when i found her... so I am SO happy she is doing well :) I don't know if you've seen my messeges before, but i'll just like to say once again, that you really inspired me to get a bunny and help out the ones that are in need. you have given me great ideas and taught me how to take care of my girl in the best way. so THANK you very much. p.s I really adore all your videos. This video is so good. I thought I was prepared for a rabbit. But seeing the amount of responsibility tells me I don't have the time (and possibly resources) for it. Thank you.
if I keep my bunny in a playpen and let it out to run around my room when I get back from school is that ok? and also my house has hardwood floors, if I put fleece blankets onto the bottom of the playpen is my bunny likely to chew and destroy them?
My bunny has a playpen with fleece at the bottom, and doesn't chew it, but all bunnies are diffrent. If your bunny does chew it, she may be bored, so provide lots of toys😊
I ADORE ALL YOUR VIDEOS, I am the new parent of TWO feral domestic baby bunnies... both were 3 weeks when I got them (Timothy is a month older than Company - who I thought was a female but the vet told me yesterday she is a he!) Thank you for your excellent tips, and tricks and techniques!!!!!!!!
I'm impressed you are able to manage sweeping every day. At our house, it turns into what I call the Broom Game with rabbits chasing the broom, sitting in the dustpan, kicking piles every which way, chewing on bristles, and being as unhelpful as rabbitly possible. It's more an exercise in pet entertainment than housecleaning. We all collapse in an exhausted heap afterwards.
Hi I’m getting a rabbit TODAY I’m so excited I have been watching you for like basically a year now and I’m sure my rabbit will enjoy watching you as well
I'm adopting two bunnies soon as I feel ready after watching your videos for a year now I think. A messy house is what I'm worried about so this video came up just at the right time!
It's so funny I had to clean out my dish washer and I found hay in it. The area where the hay is in the house isn't close by it so I thought it was funny

I've learnt a lot thanks to you ;-; here in Chile is common to have bunnies in cages and thanks to you and Lennon I'm starting to teach the others that rabbits are so smart, clean, intelligent and they don't have to live in cages 🐰 Gazapito is a big fan of Lennon🐇 greetings from Chile!
BlackLotus 30 My sweet bunny Lara died this past Saturday, made me look back on everything I’ve done wrong and right and this channel could’ve been our savior, why didn’t I see it sooner.😭🤧💔💔💔💔💔
As to bunny odor... I think my bunny actually smells sweet 🤔😄
Yes!! Mine smells like honey? 😂
I've had my bunny for years & have NEVER noticed an odor on him or from him. He is free range & his potty area is cleaned daily which I'd think would be normal.
Mine smells like fresh laundry 😂
@Ally Reynold same & as long as somebody doesn't have pee sitting around for many many days, Idk why they'd have an odor issue. So weird
They smell fresh and clean, like a baby ^_^
I got my Holland Lop bunny, Hamilton, shortly after watching your videos. I've researched all about rabbits for almost 2 years and I'm so grateful for you! This video helps me especially lol!! Thank you for aiding me in my adventures with my little bunny baby. I'm thinking about creating a blog about my baby--cause oh the adventures that occur when becoming a bunny mom is crazy.
Lilee Bennett Your rabbit’s name is amazing
@@gatorontheroad Haha thank you!
@Lilee Bennett that would be so cool. I have videos about my rabbit white foot recovering from sever muscle loss and ear infection / ear mites. She is only 7 weeks into recovery but doing so much better already!!
@@JohannaParrishParrish_Place Wow! I'm glad she's doing better!
How is your bun doing? >w
Im getting that today! I saw it online the other day
Man I swear sometimes I come home and see my space absolutely ravaged by my two bunnies...and Im like pack your shit lol but soon as they come up to me and love on me its all worth it
HAHA! Same!
❤️❤️❤️
Miele vacuums are great. I've found bagless vacuums get clogged a lot more with bunny fur than bagged vacuums. Also a big shop vac is great for picking up hay. Love your videos! Lennon is so cute!
I’ve watched this video so many times and there’s no flaws this video is flawless!
Thanks for the tips! I'm really into that trunk idea cause it's a feeder, toilet, and hide all in one mess containing package
Yay! Happy new year!! Lennon is the LUCKIEST rabbit EVER to have you as her caretaker!!!
Sorry for your loss ;( what's it like having a rabbit? I really, really want one but my parents say no every time I ask. :(
The Cloud That Drifted Away they are wonderful companions. But they require lots of work. Since they are prey animals, they take time to trust anyone. But it’s so worth it when they finally do. If you want a rabbit do lots of research and make sure you are ready, they require a good amount of time and money to take care of.
@@andria2369 thanks for responding. I've definitely been doing my research, even if I don't be able to get a rabbit until later in life.
The Cloud That Drifted Away that’s wonderful. We need more people that love bunnies and want to help them in this world. 🐰❤️
So sad ;-;

Shop-Vac is amazing for cleaning up hay and poop. You can get a smaller one for around $20-25 around Christmas time!
I hope to get a bunch of bunnies from a shelter in the future, and your videos really help information-wise 😊 Thank you!
How could someone dislike in the first 30 seconds this video was up? You have t even watched it yet
Thank you for all of your tips. They have made our Rupert much happier. She free roams twice a day during her active periods. Sometimes she even puts herself away.
Thank you so much. My bunny and I have grown so much closer since I’ve started watching your channel. Thank you so much.
I needed more Lennon after a bad day. Glad this videos here! ❤️
When I am older I want to be just like u!!!!
me to!!!!
Seawater Peanut me too I wanna free roam my bunnies
Yup same
Lol same to me
Can I just say, a lot of these tips are great for guinea pigs as well.
You are literally saving my life. You have no idea how many times I have have gone someone where and then they lean over and pull a piece of hay out of my hair.
It just gets everywhere !
Yep they definitely are
You are doing a great job educating bunny parents. I learnt everything when I got my 2 buns but still see people treating their buns wrong, I love how your videos are teaching others 🥳🐰🐰🐰❤️
Happy new year lorelei and Lennon ❤️
Ty for this video. So helpful xx ❤️❤️
So helpful!! I love this video!! All these tips I will be using.
14:24 never thought of doing this, thanks for the tip I’ll definitely try this
I really want to get a bunny but I worry, worry, worry about cleaning and keeping a clean place to stay for me and my future bun. This vid basically...helped A LOT.😆Thanks so much Lorelei..😁😘
OMG, same!😁😅 Btw, me and JJJ are not the same person!😬
Thank you Lorelei, and thank you Lennon :)
Sincerely,
A huge fan
I love organization and staying organized. My rabbit loves to make messes and reorganizing what he messes with its hard to stay organized when he knocks everything around so this video should give me some ideas (I AGREE WITH THE HAY ISSUE IT GETS EVERYWHERE)
Hay is the worst 👍😁
I am so glad you finally made this video.
Thanks Lennon the bunny for liking my comment!!!❤️
Awesome video Lorelei!! This was done so professionally! Lennon was so cute and I loved the video examples you used in between talking!! I am thinking of getting a bunny soon and I want to give them the best life possible, and your videos really helped!! So inspirational!! Thankyou!💕
Love this video, a bunny doesn't have to smell and you can keep a clean house! On my swiffer I only use moist floor wipes, it gives a little mop and other spots get cleaned while picking up the hair and dust. Works perfectly!
OMG I JUST SAW LORELEI'S INSAGRAM STORY AND I AM SO EXCITED! Lennon and Bini are Literally the ONLY rabbit youtubers I watch!!! I CANT EVEN WAIT FOR THIS COLLAB!!!! I love you so much!
I love your videos. I’ve learnt so much since I started watching your chanel
Finally early anyone else just get so excited for these videos💗💗
Edit: omg Lennon the bunny just liked my comment I’m literally crying as a few days after I wrote this comment my rabbit passed away in her sleep and her videos have just really helped me get through this😭💗thank you✨ xxx

3:01 I cut grass at the end of the street on the meadow. I bring it home and dry it. That is how I make my own hay! So I can choose my hay to be the best quality for my rabbits. Also it is free, so I don't have to pay for it. only in the winter when I run out of hay.
I used to have a bunny and I was like five years old and I did no research at all I had in a cage outside and now that I watching these videos about to get a new one I feel so bad for how I treated my old bunnies I’m gonna try make the one I get now have a way better life
I can’t believe the words “ happy new year”were said. Lol none of us thought this would happen thought.
I don't even have a rabbit and I can't stop watching your videos

Sometimes he shoves his whole body into a ball of it and hops around with it all stuck on him. Been trying to get a pic of that. Lol. Great, informative video as always!
Mine carry hay too! They are holland lops
Your house is sooo cute! Ps I love you and Lennon!

I've had my beautiful Havana bunny girl for six days. today she finally embraced her toilet and used it! such a proud mama. ;)
it's so interesting to see how in under one week, she has already shown such progress. she's jumping around and letting me pet her and she doesn't get as startled anymore. she's such a good bun bun. she had been sitting in a small cage for 5 months when i found her... so I am SO happy she is doing well :)
I don't know if you've seen my messeges before, but i'll just like to say once again, that you really inspired me to get a bunny and help out the ones that are in need. you have given me great ideas and taught me how to take care of my girl in the best way. so THANK you very much.
p.s I really adore all your videos. You always make such lovely aesthetically pleasing ones - and your piano music is just the best. I think i probably watch you every day. it's just so comforting and nice to watch you and lennon. don't know why. it's makes me feel happy.
Have a great day Lorelai - and Lenny. :)

Is is just me, or do you guys feel like she’d be a really good mom
Well, she is a bunny mom😂🐰
Thank you for sharing your tips! They were very useful, and I’ll definitely be implementing them into our bunny household.
if I keep my bunny in a playpen and let it out to run around my room when I get back from school is that ok?
and also my house has hardwood floors, if I put fleece blankets onto the bottom of the playpen is my bunny likely to chew and destroy them?
My bunny has a playpen with fleece at the bottom, and doesn't chew it, but all bunnies are diffrent. If your bunny does chew it, she may be bored, so provide lots of toys😊
I would describe Lorelei as a hard working person that takes perfect care of her bunny❤ I really love this channel❤❤
Tried the hay in a box method and omg it works so well. Me and my bunnies love watching your videos.
Is it okay to have candles in the room where I keep my rabbits. I see some in your background and was just wondering
Yep. Just make sure they can't hop up and knock them over.
Not most scented candles, though! Some scents and essential oils can hurt sensitive pets, including dogs or cats.
When you talked about the swiffer, my dad ran in with a swiffer and hit a table with it
I love you I have to rabbits you are my favourite RUclips 🐰
