I feel like that was the problem with this dance.
Yes lily’s back flexibility is absolutely gorgeous, but it was way overused in this dance. I didn’t really flow at all in the beginning or middle, and a lot of it was just repeating variations of the same tricks. Lily’s a great dancer but the choreography for this dance just wasn’t it😕.

Elliana Ziegler I think she meant the cheesy acro, like Mackenzie or Lilliana used to do.
Acro as in like tumbles, she is just doing lots of flexibility, acro is like round off back flips, I know because I am a competitive gymnast, this routine is not acro.
Sienna Aberdeen acrobatics can also be contortion moves. and yes this is an acrobatic routine

Black widow would have been a great routine for nationals. I love Lily and her tricks but this choreo and outfit just seemed better suited for a tryout with Cirque de Soleil than a dance competition.

This is a very hard solo. The level of technique and flexibility lily has is insane.
Everyone is saying this solo doesn’t meet there expectations for lily. Am I the only one that loves this choreography, the theme, and I think it was executed well? This solo is underrated.

@@amelie4624 The theme, basically the main idea of the dance! The story/interpretation you the viewer is getting out of it! (Look up the definition of “Theme” for further information!)
Its like someone fighting the inside of themselves. Or it can be seen as someone being a certain way on the outside but in the inside they are evil.

That was an incredibly difficult solo. I can’t think of any dancer who could have executed this choreography with that level of technique, flexibility, acrobatics, and stage presence. She’s amazing👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

it was acutally a really good choreo for Lillys level, she did a balled combination , a half fan and so many advanced turns!
Technically she was contorting more than dancing.
Wow..this routine is highly technical. The transitions are very difficult, and the amount of control she has is unbelievable. That may be your opinion, but coming from a dance background, I can assure you no teacher would agree with you.

This is a very hard solo. The level of technique and flexibility lily has is insane. Not many ppl can do a flexed leg extension 0:50 her control is amazing here as well 0:56. Her body flows perfeclty with the music and that is what dance is all about. Literally the front aerial is the easiest thing to do in this routine
@@bananajoe7365girl I swear stfu nobody is saying this isn’t a hard solo or that she didn’t do good, people are mad bc this is simple not a DANCE, it’s an acrobatic routine suited for a circus, I can assure you that this wouldn’t have won in any medium- advanced competition, because even if this is in the acrobatic category, 99% of judges are all against a full tricks- contortion dance, bc it’s not dancing, it’s like being an artistic gymnast and doing a literal gymnastics floor routine on a dance competition under the excuse of ‘acro’ category, ain’t no judge giving that 1st place. And lastly as a dancer myself, no, the front aerial is def not easiest thing in this dance, doing a develope a la seconde is way easier than that, you not even being able to name dance steps correctly tells me all about your mediocre dance education

This is quite bad choreography for nationals... Pretty much just tricks on tricks with no actual flow or artistry, she is capable of so much more. Having her do 15 leg holds/extensions in less than 3 minutes? Why!?

All Abby’s choreography is like that. These kids are capable of so much more!

@@dance4melife227 Nope it is not natural, her mom made her dance at the youngest age possible (2). And her mom quit her job for Lilly to dance, her mom just really wanted a child that did dance so she tried really hard.

Considering the calibre of Lilly's solos in season 8, the fact that this was her Nationals solo disappoints me. Same thing for Brady and Pressley considering for all 3 of them, their Nationals solo was their lowest placing solo for the season.

Lilly is such a talented dancer, but I can't help missing dances that have more of a storyline, or at least an obvious emotion to pull out. I felt like this choreography was almost only trick and trick after trick... and while Lilly is amazing at tricks, she has matured so much with her acting this season, I wish we got to see more of that.

Lilly is an amazing dancer but I think that the whole cast are amazing in their own way. Lilly has the flexibility which is great, but I see a lot of reused choreography from her previous solos just in a different order. I get that it’s there because it’s what makes the dancer look good, but there’s so much more out there for her to do in a dance instead of the same creepy back tricks

Sorry for the pun but this seems like a really half-arsed idea. Like the paint job is cool looking but doesn’t connect to the song, or the choreography. You could put her in almost anything else with any other music and it wouldn’t really make any difference. Like it’s really disconnected.
