The Snape reveal is one of the best things Ive ever seen, it was so masterfully done. If you look at when McGonnagal is attacking Snape to get him out of Hogwarts you'll notice that he only blocks her spells and never attacks and actually deflects her spells into the deatheaters behind him.
Before the last book came out I remember seeing bookmarks/polls/marketing materials asking readers' opinions of whether or not Snape was a friend or a foe. I decided he was a friend only because Dumbledore had put so much faith in him. So the reveal wasn't as much of a reveal to me at all. Doing so probably diminished the impact a bit.
I mean it looks good for the movie, but in the book he did attack McGonagall with a serpent of fire and it was actually Harry and Luna that took out the Carrows in the books. Although McGonagall is the one who restrained them.
28:39 A lot of people talk about how important Lily's and Molly Weasley's maternal love for their children was - and they're absolutely right - but I think it's worth remembering that Narcissa Malfoy's love for her son was instrumental to Harry's victory over Voldemort too!
Also one must understand and not forget also. That tho its always about Lily, not James, tho James was ignored. He died wandless and that to give her time. Everyone forgets about James. He didnt even get a chance to fight, he knew he was sacrifice. ALso Snape tho loved Lily. Hes not fully off the hook entirely. He called her a Mudblood which resulted in him losing her in the first place. This act ruined his chances. Then she went with his rival. Tho James evenually matured alot than was. Snape held on a grudge. He never stopped hating James, and his friends. Tho he did a big 360 he still was a death eater, watched and killed many i bet. Loved being with V oldermort. But it was when he heard Lily was involved when he showed regret. And his treatment of Harry and Neville cant be forgotten. He ruined his chance, and took it out on James and Harry. This is and was his own punishment. This pain and torment, is what he got for what he did, but he redeemed in by what he did in the end. BUT it dont justify he was a good man. He was and is what i call .. Gray. Not totally evil or not totally good. But middle.

Yup. I just went to a con and met Troy Baker, the voice the Joel in the Last of Us. idk if you're familiar with the story but you see this amazing bond form between a man and his surrogate daughter. They go through a lot and eventually Joel has to make a difficult decision. I attended this con with a friend and we met Troy right after I was done explaining the story in detail. Troy then signed his autograph (a picture of Joel) with the words, "I'd do it all over again." I NEVER cry in front of people but that completely broke me. The friend attributed it to a "fan moment" and I kindly informed her that it wasn't the actor's presence that caused me to cry but the meaning of the words. I would have reacted the same way had Alan Rickman signed "Always". Some words and stories are just that powerful.
Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) was so amazing when Snape was holding Lilly's body. It is one of the greatest moments in the Potter series. You can really feel his sadness and anger, he was a brilliant actor.
I remember reading the book and finding Dumbledore's last line 28:23 so beautiful, because it was like JK Rowling speaking directly to the reader "Of course it's happening inside your head, Harry. Why should that mean it's not real?" meaning that while, yes, the whole story is fiction the experiences you feel are very real. Glad you enjoyed this series!

Harry was saved by a mothers love three times, by his own mother giving her life, by Molly taking him in and treating her as own of her own, and by Narcissa Malfoy, who was more concerned with her own son and betraying Voldemort :)
Alan Rickman was the only one of the cast knowing his role and it was revealed in the last moments of shooting the movie that others became aware of this fact. Masterfully done!
@@brianabc83 after several movies in 2007 the last book was written and only then people knew. So yes, you are right, they could know it but from movie 1 only Alan Rickman knew and others didn’t.

He wasn't helping Harry, he was trying to make up for Lilly's death because he blamed himself. I think for him when he called Lilly mudblood and broke their friendship he felt that it triggered the events that led to who they chose as the secret keeper. Snape believed that if that didn't happen they would have chosen him and he would have been able to keep it from Voldemort preventing the whole incident that led to Harry being the chosen one and Lilly's death. So by protecting and helping Harry he was somehow making up for that.
I must have lost count the number of times I’ve watched this film, and still the snape scene brings a tear to my eye, even through watching a reaction video instead of the actual film. You never have to make any effort to feel those emotions, it was so brilliantly done. RIP Alan Rickman.
Snape was probably my favorite character because he was such a genuine and loyal soul. He was always such a good friend to Lily, but he was bullied mercilessly by the other boys. He was always looking after Harry for Lily's sake. His animosity towards Harry was partly because he reminded him of James but also to hide his feelings for Lily.
The reason they didn't give her wand to the bank goblins was because it was reported as stolen. It would be like using a stolen ID or Creditcard, they would know they are the thieves.
One thing that i find emotional is that Maggie Smith (professor McGonnagall) was also battling cancer while filming these final films. While going through such a tough personal battle, she still gave us all a wonderful performance with the same character strength as always
The movie departed a bit from the book. In the book, Harry, in front of everyone, called out to Voldemort, saying how the Elder Wand was his and why (same reason, for disarming Draco). Despite that, Voldemort cast his killing curse, and the spell rebounded on Voldemort, killing him in front of everybody. Harry used the Elder Wand to repair his own wand, and as I recall, put the Elder Wand back in Dumbledore's tomb.

But due to events in the world at the point of making the movie, they Opted to change it to him Disintergrating instead. You can find an Image somewhere of Harry holding both Draco's Wand and the Elder Wand, standing over Voldemort's Dead Body, looking down at it.

The breaking of the wand is actually a better ending that simply putting it back in Dumbledore's coffin, IMO. But having him flake away like the Thanos snap was a bit silly, and spoils an important point in the books. And it's also inconsistent with the way the killing curse works.
THEY BOTCHED THE ENDING. Yeah, I'm that guy and I'm shouting it from the mountaintops. Harry cast Expelliarmus, causing Voldemort to lose his wand. Then VOLDEMORT DISINTEGRATES FOR NO REASON. It takes more than destroying all horcruxes to kill Voldemort, you also have to kill him. Yes, it happens completely different in the book and I won't get into that. The movie version defies all reason and I'm surprised nobody talks about this.
@@PhilBagels The Real world events as far as I know, was at the time they Filmed the Death Scene, they changed it due to the event's of Osama bin Laden's Death. I don't know how much truth there is to that story, but It's all I could find when googling it.
Snape has got to be the most complex character I've come across in a book or series of movies. I can't think of anyone more complex. And as for Neville Longbottom - was he the real hero of the Harry Potter series?
Well, as it has been said many times.. both Harry and Neville were both candidates for the one who would fulfill the prophecy. Sometimes, I think that it was more Neville than Harry, because Neville was the one that destroyed Nagini (the last horcrux), which ultimately takes away Voldemort's ability to live on after death. In the books, because Harry was the true owner of the Elder Wand, when Voldemort cast his killing curse at Harry, it rebounded, and killed himself, instead. Therefore, Harry was not the one to destroy Voldemort, he did that to himself after Neville destroyed the final horcrux.
Snape is honestly my favorite character, and the reveal of his past is the most emotionally impactful scene to me personally. They did a great job making him seem like a villian so that the reveal hit harder.
Harry no longer caring about the Houses after his own experience with the Hat and seeing Snape had the bravery of a Gryffindor was heartwarming. As a side note, Wormtail was a Gryffindor, but was a coward.
One of the most hilarious and impressive moments in the movie is Helena Bonham Carter pretending to be Emma Watson acting as Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix Lestrange
That is absolutely one of the most brilliant pieces of acting I've ever seen. Every time I see it, my brain just wants to think it's Emma Watson in makeup and not really Helena Bonham Carter. She nails the physicality of the character so perfectly, it's better than any special effect.
NOW, you need to rewatch the entire series and actually see Snape’s love a loyalty. J.K. Rowling actually told Alan Rickman Snape’s motivation in the first movie. One of the finest acting performances I’ve ever seen. Of course I’ve been an Alan Rickman fan for a lot of years.
This movie was a great finale for the series. Alan Rickman as Snape always had a hint of sadness in his eyes. When McGonagall goes to fight him,you could see on his face how much it hurt for him to know that they saw him as a traitor.
Alan Rickman's acting in these films was absolutely brilliant. There's so many scenes where Snape's expression is hovering halfway between passive indifference and "I'm just about to burst out crying," such as when Voldemort kills the Muggle Studies teacher, or while watching the students filing into the school at the start of this film.
I was sooooo waiting to see you when the Snape reveal happened. I know that I didn't expect that when I read the books. I think Snape was a very conflicted character, and I am very glad that we were able to see that he was good in the end.
My favorite part of this movie was when the Weasley mom yells "not my daughter you bitch!". She's a nice lady but don't mess with her children, Bellatrix didn't realize you don't come between a parent and their kids otherwise you will feel their wrath
Because of who he is, Voldemort thinks that "defeat" means "kill", that's why he doesn't (can't) understand who really controls the Elder Wand. Draco went to his mother, not his father.
Harry's kids are named James Sirius (Ron is godfather), Albus Severus (Neville is godfather) and Lily Luna (it is not confirmed but I love to think Luna is godmother.) Ron and Hermione kids are Hugo and Rose. Hermione is only one of the trio that went back to Hogwarts and finished 7th year. In the books Neville and Luna are not thing, and he married Hannah Abott, and for now they don't have kids. Luna married grandson of Newt Schamander (main character from Fantastic beasts) and they have twin boys. Harry works as Auror, Ron was Auror but now he works with George in his prank store. Neville was Auror for short time, but now is teacher of Herbology at Hogwarts. George never got over Fred's death and was never able to produce patronus again because all of his happy memories are with Fred. He married Angelina Jonhson and they have son Fred II and daughter Roxanne. After the Battle of Hogwarts, Umbridge was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned in Azkaban for crimes against Muggleborns.
Dasha, the wand failed Voldemort because the wands true owner is Harry, Draco disarmed Dumbledore then Harry disarmed Draco so its loyalty was to Harry. (Voldemort was wrong about having to kill the owner to claim the wand, you only have to defeat the owner)
It's important to note that this is a specific property of the Elder Wand. Most wands remain loyal to their owners, even if they are disarmed or otherwise defeated by someone else. Otherwise, everyone would have to buy a new wand every time they have duels just for practice or sport. But the Elder Wand was made by "Death" - and specifically had this property to make it more dangerous to own, and bring about more death. This is a good part of the reason Harry decides not to keep it. Remember the tale of the Three Brothers - the brother with the Wand was killed almost immediately.
I still dont like how Harry gained allegiance from Draco for the elder wand and his own wand. He wrestled it off him. It's not a magical disarming, it's through muggle means. I dont think it's good how this was done, there was no magical power dominion.
The best part about the Snape character is that the actor was the ONLY one clued in on how the series was going to end. The fifth movie came out the same year as the final book (2007), so for those first five movies, nobody truly knew which side Snape was on except Alan Rickman, which allowed him to act the part perfectly. Perfectly distrusted, perfectly hated, but all the while acting in Harry's best interests.
Such a great movie and conclusion. Can't wait for you to find out about Snape and see what you think of the true him. Every time Harry was in danger, as much as he could, Snape would protect Harry. Weather he knew it or not. Even all the way back in movie/book 1. Also think about this. No matter how much he wanted to tell Harry anything, he had to withhold himself. He had to act cruel, cold towards Harry. He had a selfless life, while appearing selfish.
In film three, when Lupin turned into a werewolf, Snape saw him coming and instantly put himself between the wolf and the kids. Conversely, in film five, when the centaurs approach Dolores, Harry and Hermione in the forest, Umbridge hides behind the kids. You can see who's good and who's bad easily in those moments of danger.
The movie is decent but it really changed so much from the books- not stuff cut for time, I mean things that didn't need changing. Like in the book Voldemort didn't mock Neville; he was actually trying to persuade him to change sides, talking about the need to preserve "pure magical blood". Also the Chamber of Secrets bit wasn't "onscreen" in the book, they just told Harry later. Another example of the writer letting his massive Ronmione shipping take away from the quality of the film. :-/ Also in the book Snape was much more openly disgusted with Dumbledore for basically raising Harry to die. I will say the clip of Snape holding Lily's body and weeping was a powerful image and well done though.
Of all the awesome, and deeply emotional moments in this movie, the part I love the best is still Bellatrix realizing that the frumpy housewife that she'd written off was better than she was right before Molly beats her. I read these books to my kids, back in the day. We went to the midnight release party for the last three of the books. I had this one done before 8am the next morning, as thick a book as it was, and that included having to stop for half an hour because I couldn't read through my tears when Dobby died.
I think I read somewhere that Molly was really powerful and that she could've had a career as an Auror but gave that up to raise her family. I could be wrong but it explains how a "simple" housewife could beat a high ranking death eater.

In the books at the end Harry fights for months for Hogwarts to keep Snapes Portrait up. Also whenever Pheneas Nigelus Black speaks badly of muggle-borns Snape lectures him very strongly to never speak like that again.
I told you Snape's story wasn't done... :) I may have missed it in the movie, but in the book Harry uses the Elder Wand to repair his old wand. He would rather have that wand.
they did not want to show Belitrix's wand because there was a chance that Belitrix told them that her wand was stolen. so it could give them away as the ones who took her wand.
This is possibly my favourite reaction to this film, especially when Nevile killed the snake. This is one of my favourite films, and I'd place it up there with Return of the King and Return of the Jedi for emotional endings.
Dasha, I really envy you and others who didnt have to wait years in between the 6th and the 7th books to release. It was torture wondering how it was all going to end up. My cousin convinced a friend to go work at a bookstore so we could get front of the line tickets to be the first to buy the last book, the purchase of which came with (and later was a bit horrified) a little stuffed Hedwig toy.
1:10 I'm sure you wouldn't recognize Hogwarts because large parts of it have been re-designed over the course of the movies and years that the only things that stayed the same are the Great Hall and the thickest tower next to it.
In the book Voldemort did not mock Neville. Instead he recognized that Neville was from a pure-blooded wizarding family and welcomed him until he made that speech.
When you think about it: Voldemort died for power just like the oldest brother. Snape died for love like the second brother. And Harry accepted death like the youngest brother.
i have seen and reany MANY stories in my life. science fiction and fantasy mostly. i usually can make out how the story goes, but the whole reveal of snapes character background took me by complete surprise. so well done. one of the best things ive ever seen.
The thing I like is that like Dumbledore said: ''Help will always be given at Hogwarts''- & while Harry Potter is obviously the central hero, he couldn't have won without that help - not just Ron & Hermione, but Luna, Neville & MANY others! But for myself (& many others I'm sure!) the real hero is Snape, losing the love of his life to another man (who bullied Snape), then to death itself at the hand of Voldemort, keeping an eye on Harry who reminded him of both his schoolboy tormentor & his lost love and having to kill Dumbledore- the man he turned to & relied on, secretly for the greater good, infiltrating Voldermorts 'inner circle'...& ultimately losing his life! Of all the heroes behind Harry in this story, none gave as much, sacrificed as much as him! The reveal of his true loyalties and feelings in the end was so well written & such a heart breaking gut punch.... and played to absolute perfection by the late, great Alan Rickman!
if you read the books you're going to love it even more, the chapter in the seventh book that describes how Dumbledore's plan fails it's the best of the series, Snape was a hero
While I was sitting in the movie theater at the very end, I had the same feeling in the pit of my stomach that I did at my high school graduation. I spent 10 years with these characters and it was weird that wasn’t going to see them again the next year.
I don't remember if this happens in the movies, but in the books, Harry actually _sees_ the diadem in the Room of Requirement in one of the previous books. Of course neither he nor we the reader have any idea of its significance. Very cool little detail.
What makes Harry a true hero in my mind isnt just when he sacrificed himself for his those he loves but even more so when he broke the Elder Wand. Very few people when handed ultimate power have the moral fortitude and wisdom to give it up and whats more destroy it.
I add in his forgiving heart. Not only did he forgive Dudley fir bullying him when they were kids, he also forgave Snape for being an adult bully in a position of power. Harry did the one thing that Snape was never able to do when it came to James & even Harry...let go of his anger and resentment.

I know it’s annoying for everyone to keep recommending reading the books, but in the case of Harry Potter it clears up SO much confusion and apparent plot holes in the movies, especially the later movies. They made a lot of changes that they then had to scramble to add in to the last movies without explanation (the magic mirror from Sirius, Dumbledore’s backstory, deeper into Horcruxes, etc)
Absolutely loved watching your personal journey through all the movies! Seeing your honest reactions was heartwarming. Remember the story of the three brothers that Hermione read in part one: one brother wanted the most powerful wand ever, and died swiftly after getting it, one brother pined away over the girl he'd loved who'd died young, and one brother got the invisibility cloak and went to greet his death willingly...Voldemort, Snape, and Harry personified. These films reveal so much more detail in repeat viewings, such as Dumbledore's last words. When he says, "Severus, please," he's not asking to be spared; you can tell in his tone of voice that he's saying, "please do what you promised," recalling their last conversation in which Snape had said, "Has it ever occurred to you that I don't want to do this anymore?" He hated having to kill his only real friend and the only man who knew his real mission. Me and my wife watch through this series every year starting in October, one film per week.
Anyone who loves Professor McGonagall in this as much as you do should see some other roles Maggie Smith has done. She appeared in a couple of Agatha Christie adaptations in the 70s - Evil Under the Sun and Death on the Nile - both with Peter Ustinov as Hercules Poirot, and including several other great British actors. She was also in a murder mystery parody called Murder by Death. These days most people recognize her from Downton Abbey, where she plays the Dowager Countess. In many ways, Snape was still a bitter, cruel person, but part of it was because he hated himself so much for the wrong choices he made, and for the consequences of those choices. He told Voldemort the part of the prophecy he heard, and that led to the death of the best friend he ever had.
1:25 - The mirror fragment: In the books, at the midway point of Order of the Phoenix, Snape visits Grimauld Place 12 during Christmas break to talk with Harry about studying Occlumency. A row happens where Sirius and Snape argue with eachother, but in the end Harry returns to Hogwarts to study Occlumency from Snape. Before leaving however, Sirius gives Harry a wrapped gift, telling him "use this if Snape gives you a rough time". Harry immediately disregards this, as he feels like if Sirius finds out that Snape mistreats Harry, Sirius would do something rash that could endanger him or risk him getting put back in Azkaban. After Sirius death, Harry returns to Hogwarts and looks through his trunk - finding the old package from Sirius. Upon opening it he discovers that it's a mirror. Harry has one, and Sirius has another one just like it. Saying Sirius name into Harrys mirror would cause them to link up, like a face-time call. Harry believes that he will be able to communicate with Sirius through death with this, but when he tries it it doesn't work. In anger Harry throws the mirror into his trunk, shattering it. Harry takes one of the mirror fragments out of his trunk, and Mundungus Fletcher steals Sirius' mirror after his death. In book 6, Halfblood Prince, Aberforth Dumbledore can be seen talking to Mundungus Fletcher, and we eventually find out that he bought Sirius' mirror from him. This never really gets explained in the movies, just that suddenly Harry has a mirror fragment and apparently the rest of the mirror is at Aberforths place. Strange! 9:40 - There's actually a huge backstory to Dumbledore and his family that get explained in the Deathly Hallows book, it's very interesting! 15:15 - This isn't explained quite so well in the movies. She's refering to The Room of Requirement, the room that only presents itself to people that ask for it 36:45 - Severus Snape is a debated character even to this day. Some people say he was redeemed, and that he was not at his core a terrible person. Some people say that no matter what he went through, the way he tormented kids from a position of power means he can never be redeemed. But through the million other views and opinions on Snape, I'm sure we can all agree that he is the most interesting, one of the deepest and "grayest" character of the series. I absolutely despise Snape the person, but god damn do I love him as a character
Also i find it really funny that you fell for the same trick that they pulled on everyone about Snape me and my family guest he was still good because of the first movie when harry's broom wasn't working and Snape was doing his counter curse to save harry
there was a massive spoiler in the first movie. Snape gave Harry a coded message in their first lesson. "Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Asphodel is a type of Lily. In Victorian flower Language, asphodel means permanent regret/my regrets follow you to the grave, wormwood means absence and symbolizes bitter sorrow. So combined, bitter sorrow and regret about Lily's death/absence. Also, the answer to the question is Draught of living death. So after that, he is basically living death, he died (metaphorically/emotionally) after Lily's death in a way. Imagine if someone figured this out before the last book was released, and somehow put all the pieces together completely.
The mirror was very poorly explained in the movies. They didn’t have the foresight to introduce it/set it up in previous movies, but it’s important to the plot in the Deathly Hallows, so they just kinda put it in with no explanation. It’s my least favourite example of book to movie adaptation blunders.
in order to film the scenes in the bank, belatrix read the scenario did what she thought she d do, then emma watson immitated it as hermione and then belatrix immitated back what she saw from emma. awesome isnt it?
Snape, a true tragic hero. This story is about the power of love and how it’s something you should cherish deep in your heart even when those you love have passed.
There's a reason Neville becomes super important suddenly. If I recall, the whole reason Voldemort attacked the Potters was a prophecy that a boy born on that day to his enemies would rise up and defeat him one day. As it happens, Neville and Harry were born around the same time, both to parents in the Order of the Pheonix, and in many ways similar as people. Voldemort ended up (trying to) kill the Potters, while Neville's parents were tortured to insanity. I suppose there's a sense that Neville is like Harry except everyone kinda underestimated and forgot about him. It's fitting that he's the one who made the distraction and killed the snake right at the end. Oh, and in the book, everything from Neville drawing the sword to Harry "disarming" Voldemort takes the span of one minute. The reason Neville steps forward is to get a surprise-attack on the snake, and in the book he one-shots it because Voldemort forgot about how the Gryffindor sword can teleport and nobody guessed that Neville would do something so badass. What's even more badass is that Neville doesn't even know that Harry's alive. He just sees the snake has its guard down and decides to suicide-run it right in front of Voldemort. Everything hinged on the fact that no one takes Neville seriously.
I don't know if it was intentional foreshadowing or a fortunate coincidence, but the very first movie ends with a clutch victory. Gryffindor wins the year because of Neville's innate bravery. After rereading the prophesy from the book I notice that the line "born as the seventh month dies..." appears twice. I think the first time refers to Harry, "born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal." and the second time, "the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies...." refers to Neville.
"Born as the seventh month dies"-Neville was born 30th July 1980, Harry Potter was born 31st July 1980. "Born to those who thrice defied him"-BOTH Neville's parents and Harry's defied Voldermort (I think it refers to directly, as in to his face). The only difference was Harry is a Half-Blood and Neville a Pure-Blood. It is suspected THAT is the reason Voldermort choose him, because Harry is a Half-Blood like him and so he felt more threatened by him.
I've got sympathy for Snape, he wasn't bad at heart, he was tormented as a teenager as you see, especially by Harrys Dad, he loved Lily and only wanted to protect her and Harry. He was set up to be the fall guy and he knew that but was prepared to take the hate to do what needed to be done. Both beautifully and tragically written. I know your Patrons help decide a lot of what you watch but hopefully some of them have mentioned the Fantastic Beasts movies, kind of a prequel to this franchise though there is very little crossover of chararcters if I remember.
The books give you slightly more because you can read characters thoughts, but the movies are good and represent the books well. Half Blood prince was my favorite as well as the reveal of who the half blood prince was. :)
It's a tribute to Helena Bonhham Carter's acting ability that she was able to portray Hermione pretending to be Bella Lestrange so well. Someone else has pointed out that by the time this story takes place, Harry is more Voldemort than Voldemort.
Thing is the Elder wand was never snapped in half. he used it one time to mend his original wand and then the Elder Wand became a relic belonging to the school itself. Voldemort got a grave at the school grounds too.
The way she starts with a much more reserved prologue than before, literally saying "I'm afraid" at one point...It's a bit heartbreaking, like the whole ordeal this far is deflating her hopes and optimism. Oh, and on a personal note, her 'sad voice' is _very_ effective, really cuts into my core. This is my absolute favourite Potter reactor by far!
Also in the book, the fiendfire that Goyle used to set the bloody place on fire, it's a curse. It's a very different type of fire. And it has the ability to kill horcruxes. As explained in the book, as they flew out of the room of requirement, a faint cry could be heard, meaning the fiendfire curse had killed the horcrux soul portion of Voldemort's soul inside the diadem.
Both parts of Deathly Hallows are very emotional and sad , one thing for sure is that Snape which Harry was hating the most , it was his protector for all these years , he protected Harry bc he loved his mother , his heart was broken in pieces after he found that Lily was killed by Lord Voldemort , so many good people Harry lost in his , life , his parents , Cedric , Sirius , Remus and Nymfadora , Albus Dumbledore , Fred , and many others , thank you dear Dasha for amazing journey with Harry Potter franchise , it was really amazing to watch all seven great reactions , you're amazing and beautiful person. :)
Glad you liked it. If you have time, you should read the books as well. There are more details on the building of the characters. You'll feel the deaths much more intensely as many characters are on screen a few minutes vs. several chapters in the books.

Harrys sacrifice in the forest gave the same “love” magic to the whole school, that his mother gave to him, so the final battle in the book told that the death eaters spells weren’t working or hitting their targets at all.
The movie didn't even do Neville justice. The book had scenes inside the school throughout the year. The Callows tortured students, which is why that one girl was so terrified. Neville organized and led the resistance inside the school.
Just a little extra information for you, seeing as you were noticing how important and significant Neville is. The "one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord" that the prophecy spoke about was either Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom. The fact that Voldemort went to Harry's house and killed his parents, he accidentally marked Harry. This was also the reason Neville's parent's were tortured. In the book it could of either been Harry or Neville the prophecy spoke of, but in his haste he rushed to Harry's while the death eaters tortured Neville's.
Awesome reaction as always. Now, if you don't want to leave Harry Potter just yet, you should consider watching Team StarKids' Harry Potter musical trilogy (A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter Sequel, and A Very Potter Senior Year). They parody the story and characters, but it is still good and the music/songs are amazing. The only issues is that the audio is not the best at times because the first two were performed at a university with only stage mics. The third one was originally going to be a staged reading at LeakyCon (a Harry Potter convention for fans), but they decided at the last second to make it more of a performance. As a result of little preparation time, the performers do have scripts on stage (also Darren Criss who portrays Harry Potter only had like 5 hours before showtime since he came right from a taping of an episode of the TV show Glee). Despite those things, the shows are worth it. Oh, in the third one, there is a surprise performer who actually is in the films. I think you would like the shows. Just a suggestion.
It's funny you mention how "connected" he must be to those Horcruxes, because in the book, I seem to remember the Diadem being randomly placed atop a Shakespeare (?) bust, and so-yeah, of course, there was no real need to search for it, once he knew what it looked like; he had, after all, seen the bust with the strange tiara planted atop it, when he went to hide his (the Halfblood Prince's) copy of the Potions Book, when Snape asked for it... ;)
Hi Dasha! I like all your Harry Potter reactions very much! You have absolutly right, every part is darker than the part bevore. I also like the 3 "Fantastic beasts" movies, to understand Dumbledoores past a little bit better you should look them, specially the 2nd and 3rd "Fantastic Beast" movies.
Although I do like the movies, one thing that they really got wrong was how Harry could tell what the Horcruxes were. In the books, there was NO spiritual connection between Harry and the Horcruxes, so he couldn't feel them out (otherwise I think it would have been likely he'd have immediately sensed something wrong with the Diary when he first saw it). Instead, in Half-Blood Prince, Dumbledore made it a point to show Harry various memories pertaining to Voldemort's past, and how he specifically liked collecting treasures. The memories showed two items he took that would later become Horcruxes: the Slytherin Locket that's already been destroyed, and the cup in Gringotts (which originally belonged to Helga Hufflepuff). Also, another big thing that the film got wrong is that Voldemort couldn't feel when any of his Horcruxes were destroyed. He only found out about the Diary's destruction when he interrogated Lucius Malfoy, but beyond that, he thought all his other Horcruxes were intact. He only found out otherwise when he went to each of his hiding places and discovered that the Horcruxes were missing. (Side note; I wondered what would happen if, when he went to double-check the Cave, he found the decoy locket from R.A.B and the note.) Edit: Oh, and I'm also not sure if the film mentioned it, but Harry has owned all three Deathly Hallows by this point. The Elder Wand and the Resurrection Stone you've already seen, but the third one turned out to have been with Harry since his first year: the Invisibility Cloak. Turns out, all other Invisibility Cloaks stop working due to wear and tear or the charm failing given enough time, but Harry's was in unnaturally perfect condition despite being even older.
The Snape reveal is one of the best things Ive ever seen, it was so masterfully done. If you look at when McGonnagal is attacking Snape to get him out of Hogwarts you'll notice that he only blocks her spells and never attacks and actually deflects her spells into the deatheaters behind him.
Before the last book came out I remember seeing bookmarks/polls/marketing materials asking readers' opinions of whether or not Snape was a friend or a foe. I decided he was a friend only because Dumbledore had put so much faith in him. So the reveal wasn't as much of a reveal to me at all. Doing so probably diminished the impact a bit.
Snape took the Death Eaters' wands too as he fled. As he disapparates away, you see him briefly go to each of them.
In the movie it's alright, but just because the rest of the movie is hot garbage. It's really, really great in the books, though.
Especially since Rickman doesn’t like playing villains, even though he’s so good at it. He was very satisfied he was able to play a hero.
I mean it looks good for the movie, but in the book he did attack McGonagall with a serpent of fire and it was actually Harry and Luna that took out the Carrows in the books. Although McGonagall is the one who restrained them.

Also one must understand and not forget also. That tho its always about Lily, not James, tho James was ignored. He died wandless and that to give her time. Everyone forgets about James. He called her a Mudblood which resulted in him losing her in the first place. This act ruined his chances. Then she went with his rival. Tho James evenually matured alot than was. Snape held on a grudge. He never stopped hating James, and his friends. Tho he did a big 360 he still was a death eater, watched and killed many i bet. Loved being with V oldermort. But it was when he heard Lily was involved when he showed regret. And his treatment of Harry and Neville cant be forgotten. He ruined his chance, and took it out on James and Harry. This is and was his own punishment. This pain and torment, is what he got for what he did, but he redeemed in by what he did in the end. BUT it dont justify he was a good man. He was and is what i call .. Gray. Not totally evil or not totally good. But middle.

Yup. I just went to a con and met Troy Baker, the voice the Joel in the Last of Us. idk if you're familiar with the story but you see this amazing bond form between a man and his surrogate daughter. They go through a lot and eventually Joel has to make a difficult decision. I attended this con with a friend and we met Troy right after I was done explaining the story in detail. Troy then signed his autograph (a picture of Joel) with the words, "I'd do it all over again." I NEVER cry in front of people but that completely broke me. The friend attributed it to a "fan moment" and I kindly informed her that it wasn't the actor's presence that caused me to cry but the meaning of the words. I would have reacted the same way had Alan Rickman signed "Always". Some words and stories are just that powerful.

Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) was so amazing when Snape was holding Lilly's body. It is one of the greatest moments in the Potter series. You can really feel his sadness and anger, he was a brilliant actor.
I remember reading the book and finding Dumbledore's last line 28:23 so beautiful, because it was like JK Rowling speaking directly to the reader "Of course it's happening inside your head, Harry. Why should that mean it's not real?" meaning that while, yes, the whole story is fiction the experiences you feel are very real. Glad you enjoyed this series!

He wasn't helping Harry, he was trying to make up for Lilly's death because he blamed himself. I think for him when he called Lilly mudblood and broke their friendship he felt that it triggered the events that led to who they chose as the secret keeper. Snape believed that if that didn't happen they would have chosen him and he would have been able to keep it from Voldemort preventing the whole incident that led to Harry being the chosen one and Lilly's death. So by protecting and helping Harry he was somehow making up for that.
I must have lost count the number of times I’ve watched this film, and still the snape scene brings a tear to my eye, even through watching a reaction video instead of the actual film. You never have to make any effort to feel those emotions, it was so brilliantly done. RIP Alan Rickman.
Snape was probably my favorite character because he was such a genuine and loyal soul. He was always such a good friend to Lily, but he was bullied mercilessly by the other boys. He was always looking after Harry for Lily's sake. His animosity towards Harry was partly because he reminded him of James but also to hide his feelings for Lily.
The reason they didn't give her wand to the bank goblins was because it was reported as stolen. It would be like using a stolen ID or Creditcard, they would know they are the thieves.

One thing that i find emotional is that Maggie Smith (professor McGonnagall) was also battling cancer while filming these final films. While going through such a tough personal battle, she still gave us all a wonderful performance with the same character strength as always

The movie departed a bit from the book. In the book, Harry, in front of everyone, called out to Voldemort, saying how the Elder Wand was his and why (same reason, for disarming Draco). Despite that, Voldemort cast his killing curse, and the spell rebounded on Voldemort, killing him in front of everybody. Harry used the Elder Wand to repair his own wand, and as I recall, put the Elder Wand back in Dumbledore's tomb.

But due to events in the world at the point of making the movie, they Opted to change it to him Disintergrating instead. You can find an Image somewhere of Harry holding both Draco's Wand and the Elder Wand, standing over Voldemort's Dead Body, looking down at it.

The breaking of the wand is actually a better ending that simply putting it back in Dumbledore's coffin, IMO. But having him flake away like the Thanos snap was a bit silly, and spoils an important point in the books. And it's also inconsistent with the way the killing curse works.
THEY BOTCHED THE ENDING. Yeah, I'm that guy and I'm shouting it from the mountaintops. Harry cast Expelliarmus, causing Voldemort to lose his wand. Then VOLDEMORT DISINTEGRATES FOR NO REASON. It takes more than destroying all horcruxes to kill Voldemort, you also have to kill him. Yes, it happens completely different in the book and I won't get into that. The movie version defies all reason and I'm surprised nobody talks about this.

Well, as it has been said many times.. both Harry and Neville were both candidates for the one who would fulfill the prophecy. Sometimes, I think that it was more Neville than Harry, because Neville was the one that destroyed Nagini (the last horcrux), which ultimately takes away Voldemort's ability to live on after death. In the books, because Harry was the true owner of the Elder Wand, when Voldemort cast his killing curse at Harry, it rebounded, and killed himself, instead. Therefore, Harry was not the one to destroy Voldemort, he did that to himself after Neville destroyed the final horcrux.
I'd say the heroes were Snape, Lily and Albus Dumbledore.
Snape is honestly my favorite character, and the reveal of his past is the most emotionally impactful scene to me personally. They did a great job making him seem like a villian so that the reveal hit harder.
Snape died for love, Voldemort for power, and Harry greeted death (Dumbledore) like an old friend.

Harry no longer caring about the Houses after his own experience with the Hat and seeing Snape had the bravery of a Gryffindor was heartwarming. As a side note, Wormtail was a Gryffindor, but was a coward.

That is absolutely one of the most brilliant pieces of acting I've ever seen. Every time I see it, my brain just wants to think it's Emma Watson in makeup and not really Helena Bonham Carter. She nails the physicality of the character so perfectly, it's better than any special effect.

NOW, you need to rewatch the entire series and actually see Snape’s love a loyalty. J.K. Rowling actually told Alan Rickman Snape’s motivation in the first movie. One of the finest acting performances I’ve ever seen. Of course I’ve been an Alan Rickman fan for a lot of years.
This movie was a great finale for the series. Alan Rickman as Snape always had a hint of sadness in his eyes. When McGonagall goes to fight him,you could see on his face how much it hurt for him to know that they saw him as a traitor.
Alan Rickman's acting in these films was absolutely brilliant. There's so many scenes where Snape's expression is hovering halfway between passive indifference and "I'm just about to burst out crying," such as when Voldemort kills the Muggle Studies teacher, or while watching the students filing into the school at the start of this film.

Because of who he is, Voldemort thinks that "defeat" means "kill", that's why he doesn't (can't) understand who really controls the Elder Wand.

He married Angelina Jonhson and they have son Fred II and daughter Roxanne.
After the Battle of Hogwarts, Umbridge was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned in Azkaban for crimes against Muggleborns.
Dasha, the wand failed Voldemort because the wands true owner is Harry, Draco disarmed Dumbledore then Harry disarmed Draco so its loyalty was to Harry. (Voldemort was wrong about having to kill the owner to claim the wand, you only have to defeat the owner)
It's important to note that this is a specific property of the Elder Wand. Most wands remain loyal to their owners, even if they are disarmed or otherwise defeated by someone else. Otherwise, everyone would have to buy a new wand every time they have duels just for practice or sport. But the Elder Wand was made by "Death" - and specifically had this property to make it more dangerous to own, and bring about more death. This is a good part of the reason Harry decides not to keep it. Remember the tale of the Three Brothers - the brother with the Wand was killed almost immediately.
I still dont like how Harry gained allegiance from Draco for the elder wand and his own wand. He wrestled it off him. It's not a magical disarming, it's through muggle means. I dont think it's good how this was done, there was no magical power dominion.

The best part about the Snape character is that the actor was the ONLY one clued in on how the series was going to end. The fifth movie came out the same year as the final book (2007), so for those first five movies, nobody truly knew which side Snape was on except Alan Rickman, which allowed him to act the part perfectly. Perfectly distrusted, perfectly hated, but all the while acting in Harry's best interests.
Such a great movie and conclusion. Can't wait for you to find out about Snape and see what you think of the true him. Every time Harry was in danger, as much as he could, Snape would protect Harry. Weather he knew it or not. Even all the way back in movie/book 1. Also think about this. No matter how much he wanted to tell Harry anything, he had to withhold himself. He had to act cruel, cold towards Harry. He had a selfless life, while appearing selfish.
I think Snape was torn about Harry. He saw James within him who he hated but he had Lilly's eyes. He had to protect Lilly's child.

Snape was vindictive and cruel but he knew what was important and carried it out. Being in love with Lilly was a big part of it too.
In film three, when Lupin turned into a werewolf, Snape saw him coming and instantly put himself between the wolf and the kids. Conversely, in film five, when the centaurs approach Dolores, Harry and Hermione in the forest, Umbridge hides behind the kids. You can see who's good and who's bad easily in those moments of danger.
Snape was such a good person.. He lived such a hard life, unbelievable.
The movie is decent but it really changed so much from the books- not stuff cut for time, I mean things that didn't need changing. Like in the book Voldemort didn't mock Neville; he was actually trying to persuade him to change sides, talking about the need to preserve "pure magical blood". Also the Chamber of Secrets bit wasn't "onscreen" in the book, they just told Harry later. Another example of the writer letting his massive Ronmione shipping take away from the quality of the film. :-/
Also in the book Snape was much more openly disgusted with Dumbledore for basically raising Harry to die. I will say the clip of Snape holding Lily's body and weeping was a powerful image and well done though.
Of all the awesome, and deeply emotional moments in this movie, the part I love the best is still Bellatrix realizing that the frumpy housewife that she'd written off was better than she was right before Molly beats her.
I read these books to my kids, back in the day. We went to the midnight release party for the last three of the books. I had this one done before 8am the next morning, as thick a book as it was, and that included having to stop for half an hour because I couldn't read through my tears when Dobby died.
I think I read somewhere that Molly was really powerful and that she could've had a career as an Auror but gave that up to raise her family. I could be wrong but it explains how a "simple" housewife could beat a high ranking death eater.

In the books at the end Harry fights for months for Hogwarts to keep Snapes Portrait up. Also whenever Pheneas Nigelus Black speaks badly of muggle-borns Snape lectures him very strongly to never speak like that again.

I may have missed it in the movie, but in the book Harry uses the Elder Wand to repair his old wand. He would rather have that wand.
they did not want to show Belitrix's wand because there was a chance that Belitrix told them that her wand was stolen. so it could give them away as the ones who took her wand.

Dasha, I really envy you and others who didnt have to wait years in between the 6th and the 7th books to release. It was torture wondering how it was all going to end up. My cousin convinced a friend to go work at a bookstore so we could get front of the line tickets to be the first to buy the last book, the purchase of which came with (and later was a bit horrified) a little stuffed Hedwig toy.
1:10 I'm sure you wouldn't recognize Hogwarts because large parts of it have been re-designed over the course of the movies and years that the only things that stayed the same are the Great Hall and the thickest tower next to it.
In the book Voldemort did not mock Neville. Instead he recognized that Neville was from a pure-blooded wizarding family and welcomed him until he made that speech.
When you think about it:
Voldemort died for power just like the oldest brother.
Snape died for love like the second brother.
And Harry accepted death like the youngest brother.
i have seen and reany MANY stories in my life. science fiction and fantasy mostly. i usually can make out how the story goes, but the whole reveal of snapes character background took me by complete surprise. so well done. one of the best things ive ever seen.
The thing I like is that like Dumbledore said: ''Help will always be given at Hogwarts''- & while Harry Potter is obviously the central hero, he couldn't have won without that help - not just Ron & Hermione, but Luna, Neville & MANY others!
But for myself (& many others I'm sure!) the real hero is Snape, losing the love of his life to another man (who bullied Snape), then to death itself at the hand of Voldemort, keeping an eye on Harry who reminded him of both his schoolboy tormentor & his lost love and having to kill Dumbledore- the man he turned to & relied on, secretly for the greater good, infiltrating Voldermorts 'inner circle'...& ultimately losing his life!
Of all the heroes behind Harry in this story, none gave as much, sacrificed as much as him!
The reveal of his true loyalties and feelings in the end was so well written & such a heart breaking gut punch....
and played to absolute perfection by the late, great Alan Rickman!

While I was sitting in the movie theater at the very end, I had the same feeling in the pit of my stomach that I did at my high school graduation. I spent 10 years with these characters and it was weird that wasn’t going to see them again the next year.
Draco petrified Harry & broke his nose, but he NEVER tried to kill him. He knew Voldemort wanted to be the one to kill him.

I don't remember if this happens in the movies, but in the books, Harry actually _sees_ the diadem in the Room of Requirement in one of the previous books. Of course neither he nor we the reader have any idea of its significance. Very cool little detail.
What makes Harry a true hero in my mind isnt just when he sacrificed himself for his those he loves but even more so when he broke the Elder Wand. Very few people when handed ultimate power have the moral fortitude and wisdom to give it up and whats more destroy it.
In the movies, yes. In the Book.. He returned the Elder Wand to Dumbledore's hands, to be re-entombed with him.
I add in his forgiving heart. Not only did he forgive Dudley fir bullying him when they were kids, he also forgave Snape for being an adult bully in a position of power. Harry did the one thing that Snape was never able to do when it came to James & even Harry...let go of his anger and resentment.

I know it’s annoying for everyone to keep recommending reading the books, but in the case of Harry Potter it clears up SO much confusion and apparent plot holes in the movies, especially the later movies. They made a lot of changes that they then had to scramble to add in to the last movies without explanation (the magic mirror from Sirius, Dumbledore’s backstory, deeper into Horcruxes, etc)

Remember the story of the three brothers that Hermione read in part one: one brother wanted the most powerful wand ever, and died swiftly after getting it, one brother pined away over the girl he'd loved who'd died young, and one brother got the invisibility cloak and went to greet his death willingly...Voldemort, Snape, and Harry personified.
These films reveal so much more detail in repeat viewings, such as Dumbledore's last words. When he says, "Severus, please," he's not asking to be spared; you can tell in his tone of voice that he's saying, "please do what you promised," recalling their last conversation in which Snape had said, "Has it ever occurred to you that I don't want to do this anymore?" He hated having to kill his only real friend and the only man who knew his real mission. Me and my wife watch through this series every year starting in October, one film per week.
Anyone who loves Professor McGonagall in this as much as you do should see some other roles Maggie Smith has done. She appeared in a couple of Agatha Christie adaptations in the 70s - Evil Under the Sun and Death on the Nile - both with Peter Ustinov as Hercules Poirot, and including several other great British actors. She was also in a murder mystery parody called Murder by Death. These days most people recognize her from Downton Abbey, where she plays the Dowager Countess.
In many ways, Snape was still a bitter, cruel person, but part of it was because he hated himself so much for the wrong choices he made, and for the consequences of those choices. He told Voldemort the part of the prophecy he heard, and that led to the death of the best friend he ever had.

1:25 - The mirror fragment: In the books, at the midway point of Order of the Phoenix, Snape visits Grimauld Place 12 during Christmas break to talk with Harry about studying Occlumency. A row happens where Sirius and Snape argue with eachother, but in the end Harry returns to Hogwarts to study Occlumency from Snape. Before leaving however, Sirius gives Harry a wrapped gift, telling him "use this if Snape gives you a rough time". Harry immediately disregards this, as he feels like if Sirius finds out that Snape mistreats Harry, Sirius would do something rash that could endanger him or risk him getting put back in Azkaban. After Sirius death, Harry returns to Hogwarts and looks through his trunk - finding the old package from Sirius. Upon opening it he discovers that it's a mirror. Harry has one, and Sirius has another one just like it. Saying Sirius name into Harrys mirror would cause them to link up, like a face-time call. Harry believes that he will be able to communicate with Sirius through death with this, but when he tries it it doesn't work. In anger Harry throws the mirror into his trunk, shattering it. Harry takes one of the mirror fragments out of his trunk, and Mundungus Fletcher steals Sirius' mirror after his death. In book 6, Halfblood Prince, Aberforth Dumbledore can be seen talking to Mundungus Fletcher, and we eventually find out that he bought Sirius' mirror from him. This never really gets explained in the movies, just that suddenly Harry has a mirror fragment and apparently the rest of the mirror is at Aberforths place. Strange!
9:40 - There's actually a huge backstory to Dumbledore and his family that get explained in the Deathly Hallows book, it's very interesting!
15:15 - This isn't explained quite so well in the movies. She's refering to The Room of Requirement, the room that only presents itself to people that ask for it
36:45 - Severus Snape is a debated character even to this day. Some people say he was redeemed, and that he was not at his core a terrible person. Some people say that no matter what he went through, the way he tormented kids from a position of power means he can never be redeemed. But through the million other views and opinions on Snape, I'm sure we can all agree that he is the most interesting, one of the deepest and "grayest" character of the series. I absolutely despise Snape the person, but god damn do I love him as a character
Also i find it really funny that you fell for the same trick that they pulled on everyone about Snape me and my family guest he was still good because of the first movie when harry's broom wasn't working and Snape was doing his counter curse to save harry
there was a massive spoiler in the first movie. Snape gave Harry a coded message in their first lesson.
"Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"
Asphodel is a type of Lily. In Victorian flower Language, asphodel means permanent regret/my regrets follow you to the grave, wormwood means absence and symbolizes bitter sorrow. So combined, bitter sorrow and regret about Lily's death/absence.
Also, the answer to the question is Draught of living death. So after that, he is basically living death, he died (metaphorically/emotionally) after Lily's death in a way.
Imagine if someone figured this out before the last book was released, and somehow put all the pieces together completely.

The mirror was very poorly explained in the movies. They didn’t have the foresight to introduce it/set it up in previous movies, but it’s important to the plot in the Deathly Hallows, so they just kinda put it in with no explanation. It’s my least favourite example of book to movie adaptation blunders.
in order to film the scenes in the bank, belatrix read the scenario did what she thought she d do, then emma watson immitated it as hermione and then belatrix immitated back what she saw from emma. awesome isnt it?

There's a reason Neville becomes super important suddenly. If I recall, the whole reason Voldemort attacked the Potters was a prophecy that a boy born on that day to his enemies would rise up and defeat him one day.
As it happens, Neville and Harry were born around the same time, both to parents in the Order of the Pheonix, and in many ways similar as people.
Voldemort ended up (trying to) kill the Potters, while Neville's parents were tortured to insanity.
I suppose there's a sense that Neville is like Harry except everyone kinda underestimated and forgot about him. It's fitting that he's the one who made the distraction and killed the snake right at the end.
Oh, and in the book, everything from Neville drawing the sword to Harry "disarming" Voldemort takes the span of one minute.
The reason Neville steps forward is to get a surprise-attack on the snake, and in the book he one-shots it because Voldemort forgot about how the Gryffindor sword can teleport and nobody guessed that Neville would do something so badass.
What's even more badass is that Neville doesn't even know that Harry's alive. He just sees the snake has its guard down and decides to suicide-run it right in front of Voldemort.
Everything hinged on the fact that no one takes Neville seriously.
I don't know if it was intentional foreshadowing or a fortunate coincidence, but the very first movie ends with a clutch victory. Gryffindor wins the year because of Neville's innate bravery.
After rereading the prophesy from the book I notice that the line "born as the seventh month dies..." appears twice. I think the first time refers to Harry, "born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal." and the second time, "the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies...." refers to Neville.
"Born as the seventh month dies"-Neville was born 30th July 1980, Harry Potter was born 31st July 1980. "Born to those who thrice defied him"-BOTH Neville's parents and Harry's defied Voldermort (I think it refers to directly, as in to his face). The only difference was Harry is a Half-Blood and Neville a Pure-Blood. It is suspected THAT is the reason Voldermort choose him, because Harry is a Half-Blood like him and so he felt more threatened by him.
I've got sympathy for Snape, he wasn't bad at heart, he was tormented as a teenager as you see, especially by Harrys Dad, he loved Lily and only wanted to protect her and Harry. He was set up to be the fall guy and he knew that but was prepared to take the hate to do what needed to be done. Both beautifully and tragically written. I know your Patrons help decide a lot of what you watch but hopefully some of them have mentioned the Fantastic Beasts movies, kind of a prequel to this franchise though there is very little crossover of chararcters if I remember.

The books give you slightly more because you can read characters thoughts, but the movies are good and represent the books well. Half Blood prince was my favorite as well as the reveal of who the half blood prince was. :)
It's a tribute to Helena Bonhham Carter's acting ability that she was able to portray Hermione pretending to be Bella Lestrange so well. Someone else has pointed out that by the time this story takes place, Harry is more Voldemort than Voldemort.
Thing is the Elder wand was never snapped in half. he used it one time to mend his original wand and then the Elder Wand became a relic belonging to the school itself. Voldemort got a grave at the school grounds too.
The way she starts with a much more reserved prologue than before, literally saying "I'm afraid" at one point...It's a bit heartbreaking, like the whole ordeal this far is deflating her hopes and optimism.
Oh, and on a personal note, her 'sad voice' is _very_ effective, really cuts into my core. This is my absolute favourite Potter reactor by far!

Also in the book, the fiendfire that Goyle used to set the bloody place on fire, it's a curse. It's a very different type of fire. And it has the ability to kill horcruxes. As explained in the book, as they flew out of the room of requirement, a faint cry could be heard, meaning the fiendfire curse had killed the horcrux soul portion of Voldemort's soul inside the diadem.

Both parts of Deathly Hallows are very emotional and sad , one thing for sure is that Snape which Harry was hating the most , it was his protector for all these years , he protected Harry bc he loved his mother , his heart was broken in pieces after he found that Lily was killed by Lord Voldemort , so many good people Harry lost in his , life , his parents , Cedric , Sirius , Remus and Nymfadora , Albus Dumbledore , Fred , and many others , thank you dear Dasha for amazing journey with Harry Potter franchise , it was really amazing to watch all seven great reactions , you're amazing and beautiful person. :)
Glad you liked it. If you have time, you should read the books as well. There are more details on the building of the characters. You'll feel the deaths much more intensely as many characters are on screen a few minutes vs. several chapters in the books.

Harrys sacrifice in the forest gave the same “love” magic to the whole school, that his mother gave to him, so the final battle in the book told that the death eaters spells weren’t working or hitting their targets at all.

The movie didn't even do Neville justice. The book had scenes inside the school throughout the year. The Callows tortured students, which is why that one girl was so terrified. Neville organized and led the resistance inside the school.
Just a little extra information for you, seeing as you were noticing how important and significant Neville is.
The "one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord" that the prophecy spoke about was either Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom. The fact that Voldemort went to Harry's house and killed his parents, he accidentally marked Harry. This was also the reason Neville's parent's were tortured. In the book it could of either been Harry or Neville the prophecy spoke of, but in his haste he rushed to Harry's while the death eaters tortured Neville's.
Awesome reaction as always. Now, if you don't want to leave Harry Potter just yet, you should consider watching Team StarKids' Harry Potter musical trilogy (A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter Sequel, and A Very Potter Senior Year). They parody the story and characters, but it is still good and the music/songs are amazing. The only issues is that the audio is not the best at times because the first two were performed at a university with only stage mics. The third one was originally going to be a staged reading at LeakyCon (a Harry Potter convention for fans), but they decided at the last second to make it more of a performance. As a result of little preparation time, the performers do have scripts on stage (also Darren Criss who portrays Harry Potter only had like 5 hours before showtime since he came right from a taping of an episode of the TV show Glee). Despite those things, the shows are worth it. Oh, in the third one, there is a surprise performer who actually is in the films. I think you would like the shows. Just a suggestion.
It's funny you mention how "connected" he must be to those Horcruxes, because in the book, I seem to remember the Diadem being randomly placed atop a Shakespeare (?) bust, and so-yeah, of course, there was no real need to search for it, once he knew what it looked like; he had, after all, seen the bust with the strange tiara planted atop it, when he went to hide his (the Halfblood Prince's) copy of the Potions Book, when Snape asked for it... ;)

Hi Dasha! I like all your Harry Potter reactions very much! You have absolutly right, every part is darker than the part bevore. I also like the 3 "Fantastic beasts" movies, to understand Dumbledoores past a little bit better you should look them, specially the 2nd and 3rd "Fantastic Beast" movies.

Although I do like the movies, one thing that they really got wrong was how Harry could tell what the Horcruxes were. In the books, there was NO spiritual connection between Harry and the Horcruxes, so he couldn't feel them out (otherwise I think it would have been likely he'd have immediately sensed something wrong with the Diary when he first saw it). Instead, in Half-Blood Prince, Dumbledore made it a point to show Harry various memories pertaining to Voldemort's past, and how he specifically liked collecting treasures. The memories showed two items he took that would later become Horcruxes: the Slytherin Locket that's already been destroyed, and the cup in Gringotts (which originally belonged to Helga Hufflepuff).
Also, another big thing that the film got wrong is that Voldemort couldn't feel when any of his Horcruxes were destroyed. He only found out about the Diary's destruction when he interrogated Lucius Malfoy, but beyond that, he thought all his other Horcruxes were intact. He only found out otherwise when he went to each of his hiding places and discovered that the Horcruxes were missing.
(Side note; I wondered what would happen if, when he went to double-check the Cave, he found the decoy locket from R.A.B and the note.)
Edit: Oh, and I'm also not sure if the film mentioned it, but Harry has owned all three Deathly Hallows by this point. The Elder Wand and the Resurrection Stone you've already seen, but the third one turned out to have been with Harry since his first year: the Invisibility Cloak. Turns out, all other Invisibility Cloaks stop working due to wear and tear or the charm failing given enough time, but Harry's was in unnaturally perfect condition despite being even older.
