Really looking forward to more veggie garden video and taking care of the land!!! Your garden is so inspiring to me, I'm starting to grow my own food indoor in my apartment, obviously with limited space and light, but I'll experiment!
Try not to pick absolutely all of your grapes and wild produce. The birds and small creatures will thank you and keep the cycle going. There’s a lovely book called braiding sweetgrass that talks about this and other indigenous practices.
That wood piling scene really hit home. Every Fall, my Dad would park the pick-up out back. I’d throw the wood off the truck, and my Mom would pile it. My Dad would say we had out “Pile-It’s License.” 🤣 My partner and I just moved back to the family homestead. Excited to grow along with you two. ❤️
Carrie!!! I'm totally going to try your zucchini bread recipe😍 just one heads up regarding the music in the video. It's much louder than the volume of you guys talking😅 so I'm always turning it down during the music portions and turning up to hear you guys talk. I love you guys!! Love seeing your progress🙌🏽🥰😘
The Coordinator, so know what you mean, my hubby call's me "The Boss lady" 😂 you know it 👍🏽 I like being organized and when things don't go to plan I try try again, gosh your bread 🍞 looks so tasty 😋 I reckon you'll make an awesome Rewana bread with the potatoe bug, have you tasted Rewana bread Carrie? all your produce is looking great 👍🏽 and awesome it goes to market 🍎🍏🍑🍇 Have a beautiful Sunday 😊
I see someone made a comment below about snakes. The one thing I love so much about our countryside here in New Zealand is that there are no dangerous animals. No snakes in the grass, no bears or large cats in the wildness. I love too seeing how Lanka wanders around your property like he's been there for years. LOL. I'm looking forward to seeing your vlogs while you are hiking the Milford Track. Take care and stay safe. 🌹🌺🌻🌼
Just found your channel, and I’m so excited to follow along! We are homesteading on a few acres and have been learning to embrace a slower, simpler way of life.
These videos bring me so much joy. Your view from your home is what I’m always visualizing in my manifestation meditations. I’m so happy you have created this beautiful life for you and your family and I’m so grateful you share it with us. All the of produce that the land gives you is so abundant ❤️✨
I just Came across your channel and love it! I love Watching people live on homesteads. Growing and eating their own food is awesome! It is starting to get colder here so, I’m looking for inspiration on what to cook from my garden.
It was really lovely to see you and Woolson hanging out. I'm sure Woolson and Lanka will miss you a lot when you are travelling later this year. Woolson looks like he's a dog in sheep's clothing, lol. Lanka did a good job!
Have you and Alex thought of naming your homestead? If you go that route (no pun intended:) you could find a lovely custom wooden carved sign artist/shop. It may be too soon/not a priority, but perfect for the one year celebration. Love your channel.
these videos are like a little slice of heaven for me. this is my dream life and I'm working every single day to get to this place !!!! 😭😭😭 currently starting some herbs and green beans to grow on my fire escape! starting as an apartmentsteader and ending up a homesteader LOL
@@CarrieRad how's your sourdough journey Carrie. I am doing one month into my sourdough journey. I finally made a good on Friday. Tricky but so much fun.
Love that banana bread, no sugar? I must try your recipe, I make one with honey and date syrup. Also, I just harvested our apple tree, it didn't have as many apples as yours but made two apple crumbles with the apples that were not eaten by something. Nothing like home produce.
Carrie you put the longing on me for a slice of your cake I think I will make one for Motherx Day 27th March .The abundance of apples peaches omg Enjoy every minute of homesteading
Might I suggest taking your most commonly used Fahrenheit temperatures, converting to Celsius, and writing both down on a piece of paper on the fridge, so you don’t need to covert every time?
Aaaaaaah I love you guys so so so much! I am soooo inspired and just have that oh so good feeling in my heart ❤️ thank you for sharing this beautiful life of yours!
Looking forward to a video on your no dig method! We’re getting our new home settled this year as well so I’m already planning for a veggie garden next year.
Earrings - Hi Carrie , can you tell me where you got your earrings . The ones you are wearing at 0:28 . You've mentioned the source previously. Thanks (ps love both of your channels, keep it going !)
What was that fruit they were harvesting when they were talking about the podcast? Are those apples?I have not seen that fruit here in my country so I'm curious what it was.
nope don’t have to! if you want it to be more sweet you can add 2/3 cup of granulated sugar. I usually do but I somehow forgot to this time around and it was still really good and sweetened by the chocolate chips - now I’m questioning if I ever need to out sugar in it again 🤔
Did you plant those grapes this year? I'm thinking about growing grapes myself and I'm curious about how fast they grow and whether or not they produce in their first season.
You don’t press your zucchini before putting it in the batter? I find if I don’t do this I always end up with too wet of a batter. I probably also could cook it more. 🤷🏽♀️🤔
I just bought and moved my family to a homestead in December (vids on my channel for anyone interested). Way out in rural Kentucky. What Blake Shelton calls "God's country." I love it, the quality of life is so far superior to city life, that there is just no comparison at all. If you've been thinking about making a move....do it.

When we bought our house, I acted as the general contractor too. It is exhausting and difficult work. You’re slaying it!

The firewood moment!!!! Also looking forward to trying out the zucchini bread recipe!
I think you'd really like a Roo apron for harvesting (or diy one). It makes it a lot easier on your back and keeps your hands free.
Have you and Alex thought of naming your homestead? If you go that route (no pun intended:) you could find a lovely custom wooden carved sign artist/shop. It may be too soon/not a priority, but perfect for the one year celebration. Love your channel.

Love your videos! Those grapes look fantastic! What kind are they? Would love to grow grapes!
They are the only purple grapes I will eat and I don’t know why. I just like the taste better
You have lots of different fruits for dayyyysssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you give a whole bunch for the farmers market but still you have a lot!!!!
What was that fruit they were harvesting when they were talking about the podcast? Are those apples?I have not seen that fruit here in my country so I'm curious what it was.
What do y’all do with your crab apples? I was taught that they aren’t very tasty and are basically inedible. I don’t know anyone who eats them.
They are popular for preserves and jams
We eat them here in Saskatchewan, Canada all the time. They’re tart and crunchy! They are great preserved.
Gather Victoria has a few crabapple recipes on her blog :)
THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WATCHING YOUR CHANNEL . I LOVED IT! WHAT STATE OR COUNTRY DO YOU LIVE IN? SO GORGEOUS
So trying the banana zucchini bread! Do you have to squeeze the moisture out of the zucchini before you put it in?
nope don’t have to! if you want it to be more sweet you can add 2/3 cup of granulated sugar.
How did you start growing the grapes like that?
You are literally living the dream. Is it expensive to live there?
Loved this one!! ♥️
Love your earrings! Where are they from?
You don’t press your zucchini before putting it in the batter? I find if I don’t do this I always end up with too wet of a batter. I probably also could cook it more. 🤷🏽♀️🤔
