    OH one other thing about our country life situation that I forgot to mention… we don’t have cell service where we are! We do have wifi though so that helps out for FaceTimes and WhatsApps back home.
    I really haven’t found it to be much of a problem unless I want to call a local shop which in that case I just wait until we go to town (where we have coverage) to call.

    • @angelinaangelova2029
      @angelinaangelova2029 2 года назад +4

      Hi Carrie! What about emergency situations, do you have a way of calling for help?

    • @lisad8281
      @lisad8281 2 года назад +2

      check your phone and provider, some do a 'voice over wifi' option where having wifi will ensure calls and texts go through like normal. I use it a lot when I am at my friends place who are really really rural and barely get normal phone reception let alone cell reception

    I resonate SO MUCH with your response to the “bored” comment. I feel bored being in a city. If I want to do anything fun/entertaining it costs money. Or to “get out of the house” I feel the need to go to a coffee shop or clothing store for entertainment. That’s boring! And not in the budget 😆 Thank you for these videos. So inspiring! Having a goal every day to work on my home and help the land is the dream. Which I can justify spending my money on ha!

    Carrie, I’ve felt so connected to your content as of lately because my husband and I have made a similar move - not across the world, but across the country. Rural life in comparison to city life is SO different and I’ve loved watching you come into your own through this process. My family were also farmers and gardeners many generations back; I think there’s definitely a reason why we feel so connected to the land in this way! Love watching you, Alex, and your sweet pets 🐕 🐑 🦆 ❤️

    My husband and I are going from apartment living in the city to renting a house rurally and my brother in law said “why would you live rurally? There’s nothing to do!” We just laughed and said “compared to our tiny apartment, there’s more to do now then there ever has been!”
    I deeply relate to this video and feeling trapped in the city. I am so glad that there are people that feel the way we do about rural life. Thanks for sharing your journey :)

    I'm only half way through but I LOVE how honest this video feels. Sometimes I feel like videos are too polished, too manufactured/scripted = too good to be true = not real (even when they are vlog style) - even though I realise that they are in act honest (probably) and must have been a heap of work to produce! I hope you know what I mean!
    I also completely understand everything you said. I spent the first 46 years of my life not 5 minutes walk from a supermarket. We moved to "rural" Nth Canterbury 8 months ago and can not believe that we ever lived any other way - I say "rural" because we are on 10 acres surrounded by farmland but have cell coverage, fibre internet and are only 11 mins (14kms) drive from a supermarket :)

    I think what you’re talking about is cultural differences.
    It’s crazy how Americans buy things and how convenient it is to get it. For example Christmas decorations Halloween decorations every party is a theme. Buying close to technology buy buy buy….
    But Kiwis tend to reuse or make do. There is a difference between country Kiwis and urban Kiwis but most urban backyards have fruit trees animals and veggie gardens on a smaller scale.
    That’s why I’m thinking this is more cultural difference.

    I started looking into the research when I noticed that I was getting agitated from noise and overstimulation (live in a city, in a very noisy area). I can practically feel my blood pressure drop when I leave the city. I may be more sensitive than others, but it makes sense that it affects us all on some level. We're part of nature, as you say. Viewing nature as something separate from us--a resource to simply be used up--has led to our current environmental crisis. The life you and Alex are building for yourselves is an inspiration, and it's fun to watch you take it on.

Carrie you are so fortunate to be able to be an influencer and work remote. Sadly for the rest of us, that's just not always realistic:( Making money for most people means a 9-5 job in a city. My husband and I are so blessed to have left the rural tiny house isolation and limitations. We have found what works for us and focusing on God. We are so grateful to have left the rural countryside and its stresses behind and the Lord has blessed us to do so.

    Such a lovely video, I know I’m meant to live in the countryside amongst nature and animals. Just not at a point in my life where I can at the moment, so I make the most of the opportunities I have to immerse myself in nature. Taking the dog for walks to new places, having picnics in reserves, weekends away in national parks. And most recently getting a plot at a community garden, which has been immensely rewarding so far. Thank you for continuing to inspire me and so many others ❤️

    Carrie, I love these videos!! They really make me feel calm and relaxed when watching. I'm full time working plus working on my graduate diploma and I like to use your videos as study breaks. I don't know if I could live your lifestyle but I love living vicariously through you! Don't stop vlogging, esp the nature shots!

    Rural, as in Rural Delivery or RD. Do you have an RD route number? I remember as a child, being so jealous of those kids whose home addresses included RD2 or RD4. I used to want one as well. But I just had a plain old boring street address. You have some gorgeous views in this video!!! And I just have to mention that last scene of Lanka and Woolsen on the patio. That is just so Adorable. As to peace and quiet, while I currently do live in the downtown area of a large metropolis, I get my peace and quiet (aka "me time") when I am here at my desk, and my family are sleeping. I am definitely not in any hurry to restart the old stressful life. I want us all to take things slow and maybe stop and smell the roses a lot more than we used to do.

      I absolutely adore this. I can remember even as a kid I would always say “I just want to go home” even when I was “home”…but home is where you truly feel at peace and comfort. The disconnect and rat race that our USA society has become has caused so many mental health issues and I can see it’s affect even on young children. I’ve been so drawn to New Zealand for its amazing nature and it’s kinder society. (I can’t tell you how many time living in NY I have people say to me “you’re too nice”. Wouldn’t it be nice to live somewhere where I was a norm not an anomaly.) I know the housing prices are crazy but is the overall expenses more there? Do you find it easier to live there in general?

    Love love what you said about living in the country vs the city. It’s so true (for me as well) feeling trapped in cities and even small towns. There is nothing really to do there and it’s just not desirable. Freedom is found in the country side. I completely agree with what you said. Keep it up girl! Love your videos💗

    I am so grateful to have found your videos before you started this journey. I feel so comforted that there is someone out there who feels the way I do. I have given up forcing myself into a fancy career that I don’t want, I’ve given up forcing myself to feel like I have to enjoy things I don’t. I’m starting to grow my own cut flower business, I may even move back to Australia where I’m from because I feel so called to go home and have been fighting that feeling. Thank you I hope you know how much positivity comes from sharing your life with us!

    Seek the Lord (J e s u s) today while He may be found. Tomorrow might be too late. Repent of your sins and trust only in Him. Read your bible (not the mormons/jehovahs witness') daily. Ask Elohim to reveal Himself to you. Test all spirits (1 John 4:1-6). Pray without ceasing. Everything will come to an end. Dont fear and dont go for the 6/6/6. God will provide for you. Choose life, not eternity in Hell. Be aware of the music u listen to. Stop Watch mainstream tv and listen with discernment. Repent of your idolatry. The voices you hear, the thing you see in the mirror are demons, pray for delivrance, go and find a biblical church! Yoga will mess you up. You're inviting d3mons into your life, your home. Your kids will continue to have nightmares and be anxious. Muslims, عيسى ابن مريم is Lord and He'll not come to kill christians, He'll come to judge all who didnt accept Him as Lord and Saviour. Stop fearing your family, they'll know you're a christian so what? If you lose your earthly life, you'll gain eternal life with Elohim. The Christian life isnt about your 'best life now' and 'I deserve good', you're no good! You're a sinner just like I am. Kneel down to Yeshua only. Dont fear, dont worry. Some 'christians' are wolves. Dont focus on speaking in tongues, everyone has their own spiritual gift. Devil worshippers also 'speak' in tongues. If there's none to translate the speaking in tongues, then be quiet! 1 Corinthians 14:19. Wives submit to your husband, husband love your wife as God loves His people. Even if they dont 'deserve' it. Even if they are not born again christians. Be born again if you want to enter Gods kingdom. Stop watching porn. Stop listening to evil music, stop listening to murder stories, stop contemplating suicide, stop using drugs. stop having s*x outside of mariage, stop masturbating. Stop visualizing and manifesting, stop using cards and sorcery. Galatians 5:19-21. If the christians/pastor you hang out with talk about being wealth and health as gifts for all christians: run, fast! Christian life is not la vie en rose, it is hard! It's to take up your cross and follow Yeshua. It's die to self all day err day (your life lived as a living sacrifice for the Lord). But you'll be rewarded at the end. People will hate you because of your faith. They'll even wanna kill ya. Read Matthew 10: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Love your enemies, I know it's hard, still do good to them. Dont put your health in danger because of FOMO, many pand emics will come. Fear not --trust in the Lord!Pray for discernment. Stop (sexual) immorality. Teens and kiddos, dont think G-d will not judge you, He will! All people who'll not repent of their sins will burn in hell forever. White lies are lies. Abortion is murder. Dressing up as a woman when you're a man is a sin. Man + man is sin. Hate sin. Love Elohim with all your mind, heart, soul, strength. Glorify Him alone. He loves you that's why he sent his one and only son to die for you so that you would not have to go to hell because of your sins. God is a holy God and hates sin. He'll help you overcome your sins if you just let Him lead you. Seek Christians for fellowship. Read your bible like the living Word of God. Out of the matrix. Love of money if the root to all evil. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Pray always. People will forsake you, family too. Dont mind to much. Love on them. Show love to your ennemies. God may deliver them. Make sure your name is written in the book of life. Eternity is long, endless. U dont want to be burning in Hell.
    'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.' The Lord is knocking on your heart, time is running out, will you answer Him? Tic tac tic tac tic..

    So well said. I am from Los Angeles and when a fire burnt down our house, we moved to the forest, near Ave of the Giants. I always wanted to be self sufficient, because as a single mom, with autistic twins, we had to struggle to survive. Miracle Run is a movie made about our life. So we bought 13 acres of land and I am growing many veggies, have an endless supply of water, and though we have electricity, in a moments notice I can live the same way as without it.
