- Join me on my exciting journey as I make the move to Thailand once again! In this Thailand vlog, I'll share my experiences and insights on living in Chiang Mai, a vibrant hub for digital nomads and expats alike.
From navigating the local culture to exploring the hidden gems of urban Chiang Mai, this video is packed with tips for anyone considering moving to Thailand or simply curious about life in this stunning city.
I'll take you through the different neighbourhoods of Chiang Mai, highlighting the unique community vibes and what makes each area special.
I Love living in Chiang Mai, and Living in Thailand, I would highly recommend anyone who is considering visiting to book your flights and visit Thailand, and especially visit Chiang Mai.
Vietnam is OK but not for living or long term project. I am living in Bali and have to stay here for some reasons but I can clearly say Thailand is the most developed and best country , culture en ppl in whole south east Asia. Enjoy your time mate.
Thank you man! Thats so cool living in bali, I feel like you have to have a different approach to life if you live in Vietnam haha. But it feels so good to be back in Thailand.
Thailand is the best spot I've lived in Indonesia for years, and nothing beats Thailand 🇹🇭
Wrong. Malaysia is more developed than Thailand. And Malays aren't racist. Thais are. Thailand has a very dark underbelly that no one on YT ever mentions.
G'day Alex, fellow Aussie here, also been known to loiter around Brisbane - my kids (around your age) are still there. I also love me a bit of Chiang Mai.
Just seen your video, hope the new life works out and the channel goes well.
Cheers, Phil.
Living in Chiang Mai is something every traveller should try.
I agree! It is so beautiful here, I really love it
Another beautiful video Alex. Love seeing the world through your lens... And the talking birds 🐦🐦🤗
Thank you 😊
Chiang Mai rocks brother!!! 🎉 Lanna people are so very Jai Dee!!! I am grateful to be here! Welcome back! Many blessings.... :-)
Thank you! I agree, Chiang Mai is amazing! haha
I'm 3 days into Chiang Mai (after 6 months in Vietnam). Really enjoyed the vibe of this video. Awesome editing, too. 👏
Oh wow, thats so good! Thank you, how do you find the difference in Chiang Mai to Vietnam? 😊
@@JustAlexVidotto It's a bit more expensive here, but it feels like the nomad scene here is a bit more mature than in Da Nang (although Da Nang is catching up fast). I like how it feels small, like Da Nang does. Heading back to Bangkok in a month, which of course is a major contrast with the big city energy and chaos (which tbh I love).
@@martinrue Yeah I totally agree with your comments, the cost thing is very similar to Da Nang, I feel like if you want to spend alot you can, and if you want to spend not much you also can. Bangkok will be very very different haha
ยินดีต้อนรับสู่ เชียงใหม่ Welcome to Chiang Mai (Lanna) เน้อ!!! peace full places here
Your editing is fantastic. New sub here. Haha, and those birds were wild.
We loved Chiang Mai. We stayed there for about six weeks in 2022. I wish you the best with your journey!
Oh wow, thank you! I really appreciate that 😊 Yeah! I actually was so confused as to what the cage was, then they spoke to me and I was so stunned haha.
I love Chiang Mai. It has all the conveniences, a mix of old and modern. The price is not expensive compared to other tourist cities in Thailand. The only downside is the burning season. But it's okay, I can go to the southern beaches.
Yes! I feel the same, it has modern cafes and shopping malls but also beautiful old areas and things to see. When is the burning season? Is it really bad?
@@JustAlexVidotto From around late Feb to May. The worst part is that most of the smog would be from the neighbour countries like Laos, Myanma and Cambodia, which mean not much Thai gov can do about that.
Such an awesome video and beautiful editing. Keep crushing it 👏
Oh wow, thank you Jess 😊
Great video bro, super authentic and sick edits. I started traveling at 21 cause the military. Im so curious to see how your reactions to all the new cultures, I think you'll love it all!
Oh man, thank you, Im trying to stick to authenticity so that makes me super happy. Traveling since 21? Thats awesome, where has been your favourite place?
8:36
Been to Chiang Mai 30 times since 2005. My fave-or-rite city in all of Thailand. It’s my launching pad to the rest of SE Asia.
Yeah thats so awesome! thats exactly how I want to use it, as a nice base and travel from here 😃
Amazing storytelling brother - I feel the same, I fell in love in Chiang Mai on my first visit and I know I will be back again very soon!
Oh thank you man, I really appreciate that. Chiang Mai has something so special about it.
Great video man. Love the editing.. I lived in Chiang Mai for 3 years and it's good seeing some clips of it again. Keep up the solid work.
Oh brother, thank you. I really appreciate that. Do you still live in Thailand? 😊
@@JustAlexVidotto yeah man. I left for 3 years to Amsterdam, and then Bali for a bit. But moved back to Bangkok 3 months ago and loving it here. It doesn't have the same magic and beauty as Chiang Mai, but feels like a more stable and solid place for me to build a life.
@@JeremyLipkowitz Yeah thats so cool, I would love to visit Amsterdam eventually. Also I think that makes sense about Bangkok, its just got literally everything and its airport is insane,
Nice work man - slick vid … I’m a Chiang Mai fan from way back - I’m ‘up the doi boy’ every AM when I am living there. Great community of trail runners and cyclists make their way up doi suthep everyday - very rewarding!
The fitness scene of walking and cycling here is so big! I really love it, that sound awesome man, do you still live here?
Superb video editing - planning to head back to BKK from US in March.😊
Oh wow, thank you 😊, you must be so excited!
Welcome back to Thailand Bro🎉❤
I love Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Pai, but for a base I would recommend the Pattaya area, obviously not the central area. Your less than 2 hours from the Bangkok airports, giving you easy access to the rest of SE Asia. Condos are cheaper than Chiang Mai imo. Check it out! 😊
I still need to go to Chiang Rai and Pai, they look so beautiful, Thank you so much, I have noticed that, but I love the mountains so much and not really a beach kinda guy, which makes it hard.
Love your VDO, it's very beautiful and good quality. Good job bro!
Went to Chiangmai University more than 20 years ago and still miss it everyday. Enjoy bro!
Oh wow, thank you man, thats so cool! You should visit back soon, im sure its super different now and would be so awesome for you to see the change.
Love the video, keep up the good jobb!!! And welcome back 😊 hope u hve a amazing stay
Thank you so much! I really feel so welcomed back 😊 I hope you have an amazing day too.
Such a great video presentation. I've just got back to NZ from VN. Loved it there. A bit of a culture shock at first, but got into the flow of it after a few weeks. You're right where you need to be. Find peace and make plenty of contacts lol. Bless ya
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that, NZ is absolutely beautiful. 😊 I will do my best
Keep it up dude! Great videos!
Oh wow, thanks man, I appreciate it 😊
Stumbled across this video, absolutely love your editing style and how authentic you are. Keep going! I hope i can be in Chang Mai sometime next year ✨
Oh wow Ashley, thank you, that really means a lot to me haha, I will try my best. You should come! its so affordable and nice here 😊
Just subscribed! I’m excited to follow along. I loved your editing and storytelling.
Something about Chiang Mai keeps people coming back. I’m currently feeling a bit lost in my journey right now and immediately started looking up flights to CM. I think I’ll return in October for at least a month 🥰
had been there for maybe only 5 days and I love Chiang Mai/Rai and all the North but for me its weird that people want to live there with worst pollution on the planet. that point ruins it completely for me. clean air is way to important...
Oh wow! Thank you, that really means a lot to me, in regards to feeling a bit lost, feel free to message me on instagram or something and we can chat, a good conversation always helps 😊
@@mezzanine3362 I actually disagree with the pollution, I havnt noticed any bad pollution at all? OR do you mean in the burning season?
I am Thai, In summer around Mar-May, rainy start May-Oct,Winter in Nov-Feb this time cool weater not so cold and high season amazing scenery, cool for Thai so love and travel a lot these time but around end of Feb-Mar was burn season but in to May start raining is ok.
Welcome back, Alex. I'm a Thai Kiwi who has also been living here in Thailand since 2018.
Oh wow, thats so cool, which city do you live in? 😃
G'Day Alex. First time getting to see your content. Nice editing. Looking forward to seeing more content from you around SEA...
Thank you! I will do my best to make the content exciting haha 😊 Have a great day
I liked this video from the start, and i like your vibe you got something here keep it going.
I'm looking to move to thailand this year too, following.
Oh thank you, ☺ thats so exciting! Which city will you move to?
@@JustAlexVidotto I want to move to koh lanta i've been there once and fell in love with the place. But i haven't been to chiang mai yet that's next.
Hi! Great video and sound quality. Which mic are you using?
Thank you! 😊 It depends, I have a DJI Osmo action 4, and I also have a Canon R5 with a Rode wireless me 2 mic 😊
Love your videos man, so authentic.
I just moved back to Canada to visit family and friends and I already can't want to move back to Indonesia. 😂
And I was wondering what kind of gear you have?
Not sure if I should get an action camera or a DSLR.
Oh brother, thank you so much, I really appreciate that dude. Canada is so cool! When do you think youll move back to indonesia?
Also im in the middle of figuring it all out.
I have a canon R5 with a 35mm lens
and DJI Osmo action 4
@@JustAlexVidotto By the end of October, I'm leaving Montreal I had enough of this city. 😂
That's cool man! I was thinking about getting the Action 4 as well because of the built and size for POV shots.
All right young man, you just earned a sub.
Wow, thank you 😊 Ill do my best to keep your attention, thank you haha
One thing I noticed is... your video quality is pretty good and your perspective from your point of view is pretty good too. Same with the editing of your clips, your clips are also interesting. So you have good skills to make great clips but you still lose content and story in doing this. And your shy character makes you look charming and I have never seen this from other vlogers.
I love Chiang Mai too but i have to back and stay in BKK now for keep up with my health.
I wonder why you don't interesting about the South of Thailand so many nice beaches and beautiful islands there and you might love it too.
Oh wow, thank you I think haha. I will travel south of Thailand soon, I promise. I will make some great content there too.
The birds Ha Ha! 😂
Crazy right! hahah
Chiang Mai - ❤
One day you will be ready for that adventurous Vietnam 🇻🇳 ( it’s more than just Da Nang )
But def Chiang Mai looks like it’s the spot for you right now 😎
I agree! Im sure there are so many areas I need to explore and im excited to do so haha
Massive quads man, any workout tips to get those? Awesome video 👍
Oh haha thanks brother, umm you can message me on insta or somewhere and ill tell you the secrets 😉
Chiang Mai is a peaceful, beautiful city with a unique culture.
At one time Chiang Mai was ruled by the Burmese dynasty. and the King sent his son and daughter-in-law to rule in Chiang Mai They wrote a poem describing the beauty of Chiang Mai and would like to die here and not move anywhere else. 😊
Oh wow! It is so peaceful and everyone here is so nice and kind, and seems so happy. That history is very interesting, I would love to learn more about Chiang Mai History.
Editing is top notch 👌
Oh wow, thank you 😊
Should go visit some of the Thai mediation masters. My faves are Ajahn Dtun, Ajahn Anan and Ajahn Suchart
meditation*
Oh wow, this is actually super helpful, because while im here I want to get into mediation and explore that side of me, so thank you so much. 😊 🙏
Been in Vietnam for 3 weeks already itching to go bk to Thailand haha
Really! hahaha have you been before? You will love it!
At last your back brother enjoy it once more ❤
Exactly! I have a new found love for thailand haha
I graduated from CMU and welcome you back to Thailand 😊🎉❤
Oh wow! Thank you, It is awesome here hey!
Welcome to Chiangmai man.
Thanks brother!
So good to see the happy!! Anyway I wake up boring everyday if that helps haha
What do you mean wake up boring?
8:37 haha
Have you watched Steve Rosse’s channels? Or read his books? You might like them.
No I haven’t actually, I will check them out, thank you! 😊
and Thai journey is starting over again
hahah Thanks brother, It feels good to be back 😮💨
สู้ๆ
Hello 😃
what do you like about chiang mai? 🤔 it's nice but I found it kind of dull after a couple months
I actually love how small and easy going it is. I really love the mountains and the people are so friendly. 😊
That's a great approach. Cut the videos with your own style. And as always: Content is King.
Thank you! Yeah its hard to not get sucked into the social media prompts, but im not doing it! haha
You are quite a fit young human, maybe you should put the digital away and do some hard work as a volunteer. More to life than "content" on a screen describing how others work to make your outside world a better place ....of course i am watching on a screen 555 Peace and Love Y'all
Well done.
Thank you 😊
Welcome to Happyland😂😂😂
People from England 🤣🤣🤣🤣
hahaha
Dude. Just stay there
That is the plan haha, I really love it here
@@JustAlexVidotto Good. See you there next year
Slowlife city is Chiang mai😂
Its amazing hey! It is such a nice place to live 😊
Ha, people still start Thai channels 🤣
1:45 You turned into an Oompa Loompa
Did I hahah 😥
