Wall of Voodoo - Exercise

- Recently I got a brand new cassette of Wall of Voodoo's classic 1982 album "Call of the West" on eBay, and exclusive to the tape is the bonus track "Exercise" so I did a high res 24/192 rip of the tape. I used a Pioneer tape deck with Dolby B noise reduction on straight into my Asus laptop. I'm sure it could probably be better, but it's perhaps the best copy of this track I ever heard before. Apparently this track is one of at least four outtakes recorded during the sessions for the album according to a test pressing for the album.

I’ve been a WoV fan since the beginning of the 80s when I heard their cover of Ring of Fire on WTUL in New Orleans. I can’t recall ever hearing Exercise unless they played it when I saw them 2/9/83 at Jimmy’s( I think it was Jimmy’s but it was definitely uptown) in NOLA or when they opened for Gary Numan on The President steamboat 10/21/82 in NOLA. Two very special nights I’ll never forget. My son is as big of fan as me as well. They’re kinda a hidden gem imo.💎 Thanks for uploading 👊🏼

Wow. I’ve been a Wall Of Voodoo fan ever since I first heard heard the song “Back in Flesh” way back in 1981, and I’m only just now hearing this song for the first time! 40+ years without ever even knowing this existed. How did that happen? Oh yeah, I only ever had the vinyl LP, that’s how. This is great!

Maybe this was use to pad out the tape so that Call of the West could fit on the tape
Fantastic! Really hope this track gets an official release someday. At least I can still listen to it here
