Kimi Djabaté is a gifted guitarist, percussionist and balafon player. On Djabaté's recently released album 'Dindin', the versatile musician from Guinea-Bissau continues the tradition of his griot heritage and sings compellingly about the complexities of life in modern Africa. Mixing traditional Afro-Portuguese rhythms with Afrobeat grooves, electric desert blues and references to Afro-Latin swing, Djabaté weaves a unique tapestry of smooth and intricate sounds, with intimate songs dedicated to family and friends. His themes are undeniably universal and are about love, communication and human connection.
