Petula "Pet" Clark born 15 November 1932 is an English singer, actress and composer whose career has spanned seven decades. Clark's professional career began as an entertainer on BBC Radio during World War II. During the 1950s she started recording in French and having international success in both French and English, with such songs as "The Little Shoemaker," "Baby Lover," "With All My Heart" and "Prends Mon Cœur." During the 1960s she became known globally for her popular upbeat hits, including "Downtown," "I Know a Place," "My Love," "A Sign of the Times," "I Couldn't Live Without Your Love," "Colour My World," "This Is My Song" and "Don't Sleep in the Subway." The timing and popularity of these songs caused Clark to be dubbed the First Lady of the British Invasion. She has sold more than 68 million records throughout her career Видеоклипы
She looks absolutely gorgeous here.
This song has a Latin beat going on in the background which was popular at the time. Sometimes they actually were “Latin”, having been translated and turned into US hits.
Petula seems to have always been there…and is still with us in 2024!
The very beautiful person and very talented singer, actress, dancer, entertainer, performer, pianist, and songwriter Petula Clark is a first-class act in every way! Her performance of these two beautiful classic songs in 1958 is pure perfection! I have always loved Petula Clark! I was born in 1978 in the United States. I love this performance of these two beautiful classic songs! Petua Clark brings so much joy in every performance to anyone watching and listening to her! It is not at all surprising how she became as big a star in the United States as she was and is in England, beginning with her number hit Downtown here in the United States! I love this performance! I love her dress, shoes, brooch, hairstyle and the set! They are all beautiful, classic and timeless! The other two beautiful people who are in the same class and league as Petula Clark that came from the United Kingdom are the very talented and wonderful Shani Wallis originally from England and the very talented and wonderful Sheena Easton originally from Scotland! I have always loved all three of these beautiful women! Thank you for posting and sharing this extraordinarily wonderful performance!
They just don’t make music anymore like this. What a voice and what a lady
Petula Clark is an EXCEPTIONAL singer .She can sing in French, Italian and German.Thank you for sharing this video
So could Sandie Shaw
Pet , as always , gives all other "talent", a run for their money....BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED....what more could we ask for??
EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIFICALLY TALENTED PETULA CLARK who as had a much deserved life spanning career with those slendid vocal chords singing the soundtrack of our lifes.
I for one am so happy to have the music of Petula Clark as my favourite music.
Petula Clark is one of the top singers. She still performs in concerts in many countries.
A good singer who became great and found her style in the 60s
I love Petula Clark's singing 0f the 1950's. I'll definiteley be listening to her in Heaven.
Oh ! How I love her!
She brings life to the music with the most amazing way of singing.
How beautiful to hear Petula performing this song dear to my heart as a young man. So close to the heart and love songs are great to direct young hearts to love. Have not heard this for 60 years.... and easy access to these memorable youth experiences are worth spiritual gold!
Good god the girls could really sing back in the day couldn`t they.
Adorable Miss Petula in 1958 ! I just notice she kept her original english teeth then... Then she changed a little, coming to France ;) But still her full talent and nice woman !!! Bravo !
For anyone of a certain age, this song is so redolent of 1958 - strewth, that's sixty years ago . . . where have the years gone.
62 years ago l listened to this today i sent it to my lover
I do remember this song. I was only 8 years old. I was into Sandy Nelson/Buddy Rich at an early age. My first intro to vocal Jazz music was hearing Pet Clark. A significant figure in my life, my Uncle Billy/USMC:2nd Div/Saipan told me he loved P.Clark's music. The years are still with us and our memories are forever.
Beautiful! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😀 Forever, Petula Clark.
I was in love with her & her songs. ❤
¡ NO TE CULPO , ES MARAVILLOSA !

Gotta love RUclips. I've been a big fan of Pet's since the early 60s but this is the first time I've seen this video.
It's interesting because we Americans only know her from the Downtown era doing '60s uptempo hits but she was a star in the U.K. well before that. This was sort of her Connie Francis era.
Wonderful to see a TV performance of 2 of her pre-Downtown hits. An era all too often overlooked, so many thanks for sharing.
Great Video!
Petula clark te amo eres como mi figura materna mi guia espiritual mi ejemplo a seguir mi biblia de la vida lo eres todo para mi
Loved it on its release the late 1950s I was just 15 then, with my heavy Everready Sky Leader transistor strapped around my neck as I rode my Falcon bike.
I was 12yrs and still in short pants..you were obviously wild and out of control..I was and throughout remained a mummies boy,but I did get a bike at 42yrs old
What a wonderfull voice...

very wonderful !!!!!
This was really nice-six years before Downtown. She had great stage presence, even then. Actually, I haven't seen her perform any of her hit songs. Makes me want to take a look. Thanks for sharing this marvelous bit of history to one of the British Invasion great stars.
Canta re bonito, una voz muy clarita
This is so beautiful.
Stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! ❤

This was fairly recently CALL TRGHE MIDWIFE TV series and on a chart album of songs from that show . Very beautiful.
The Dalida version " Gondolier " is also soo good!
That version is even better.
@@karaokeandinstrumentals7135 yeah it is actually. but i didn't wanted to anger somebody or something like that haha!
@@jensvandersanden4391 That is the reason I used the term "even better" and not "much better" :D
@@karaokeandinstrumentals7135 haha :D
La version originale des compagnons de la chanson est la meilleure
qu'elle est jolie !
"With al my Heart" this is the correct title to this version of "Gondolier", an original from Dalida, the french singer.
my mom did sing this song!
Maravilloso ¡¡¡¡¡¡ que reliquias.

Her career changed dramatically when Tony Hatch walked through the door.
I agree, I love very muchTony Hatch music , but Petula was Great before (She begun recording career in 1949) and confirm this Live rare performance from 1958 with With All My Heart and Baby Lover, Ciao from Italy
Not quite because he was already working with her on Sailor in 1960. It went to U.K. #1. But their subsequent releases didn’t really chart in U.K. He then became her full time producer in 1963 and it wasn’t until the end of 1964 that he penned Downtown and started their run of 13 Top 40 hits in USA.
Sleep good🌕🌕🌖
Your title should be “With All My Heart”

There’s always some jerk who has to spoil it for others.
@@davideck It doesn't spoil it for me. It only shows what kind of a person HE is. I mean, look at his moniker.
