Information. This song was released by Petula along with the BBC, IN 1967. It was to promote the FIRST COLOUR TELEVISION PICTURES in the UK. Hence the title, Colour my World. ❤❤
Even though she was a bit before my time, I still relate as when I was a kid in the 70s my grandparents had these songs on an 8 track mix tape my uncle made for them, and played it all the time.
I sent her an autograph request to France last year and she not only signed my pictures and CD cover she sent new pictures that were signed and personalized to me. Probably the nicest through the mail autograph I ever got. She is class

Her acting ability can never be called into question because she is a tremendously EXQUISITE actress who goes beyond the pale of superb drama and next minute laughter filled jollities. Starring in many films including family folklore escapades enriched melodrama of The Huggets and then came the two very extraordinary classic films. Finian's Rainbow 🌈 and Goodbye Mr Chips. This black Detroit 60's chick loved this petulia Clark song and still love it to this day. I remembered the Queen's guards dancing l loved it and finally found this video! I loved all the British invasion groups and when I got my first paycheck I went to England. I will never forget the humor and hospitality of the English people and along with Canadians and Texans they are my favorite people. Long live the 60s, the King and the British singers and groups of the British invasion.
Pet is one of my fabe singers. I wasn't born yet when most of her hits came out, but my parents had all of her albums. It was amusing to have my mothersay"oh, this is 'My Love' and "oh this is 'In and Out of Love'" (That was a Supremes song which I recorded from the radio. [Yes, in 1980 we had FM radio, but most of the pop songs at the time were on AM, like KJR and LG -on THAT statiob, I heard the first "bad" words on the radio from 'High Schoo Confidnetial".)
My Mum was a cabaret singer in London in the 1950s. She was acquainted with Petula (she called her "Pet") In 1965-66, as a housewife in America, she was stunned when "Pet" became a superstar.

Petula seemed to be the level headed, favorite sister. In Huggets Go Abroad, the family makes like the 8th Army and travels across some African desert. Guess that's what Britishers did back in the day!!! Jack Warner from Dixon of Dock Green plays dad.
This single was recorded not at Abbey Road, but in NY with a drummer who feared he wouldn't be able to capture the "London sound" in order to do the song justice. Turns out that his inspired performance put all those doubts to rest!

I always loved this variety show "The Ed Sullivan Show" ever since I just turned 24 six years ago. And I especially really love this great, catchy, and pretty Petula Clark song. I also really love her style which was cheery but calm. Petulas British, what do you expect? Not to be racist, of course. And I'm too cheery but mellow, as well.
To a young kid listening to am radio in this era, it was song like this that brought such "colour" coming out from that tinny little speaker. There will never ever be a time when Top 40 AM radio will have such a hold and influence upon a generation like what the 1960's gave us.

She was so hip and modern, and looked soooo pretty :) On this Ed Sullivan episode, wasn't sure if the "BRIT" motif was necessary, didn't seem to fit the song, HOWEVER, it does make me very proud of my West London heritage (I am also Italian). I remember listening to the pocket radio, also, and hearing this song then, also !!

Petula was awesome. i feel bad for the musically impoverished generation of today. what they mostly don't realize is the VARIETY of music all slamming together at once in the 60's: Motown, Beach Boys, Novelty Songs, the British Invasion, traditional Pop, Country, various forms of Rock, popular instrumentals....every song on the top 40 was a hit...very few duds. what do we have today? mindless, vacuous, interchangable pop trash, and foul-mouthed, vulgar hip-hop. The 60’s Mod scene was very cool!!! Pet personified that coolness and her talent was beyond awesome! I loved every song she ever made and finally got to see her ,not once but twice when she came to the States at the age of 85! She was still a consummate entertainer and we all loved being in her presence. So grateful for those concerts! We were with Her Majesty!

Petula Clark had some of the best songs back in the 60s. One of my favorite female singers back then. I'm so glad I was able to grow up with music like hers. Still listen to her music today. COLOUR MY WORLD was my favorite by her she had other good ones. Like the sound of the female back up singers on this song that made this song so good.

I'm sorry to tell you, but we probably won't get a mix of this one. The guns' name usually are not the theme song, just a classic music reference (For example, in Bayonetta 1, the guns' name was Scarborough Fair, while the main theme was Fly Me To The Moon)
Kudos to the composer and songwriter for this masterpiece. It takes creative vision to come up with a unique and energetic song like this. There are songs so unique to a particular artist that no other artist dares to do the cover. Georgy Girl for The Seekers is one example and Color My World for Petula Clark is another.
In that year, there were only three television channels. For music, the primary mode of listening was radio. Most couldn't afford a record player or records. By means of sound only on the radio, this song had a most immediately arresting quality above most others. A 10 out of 10 for me. Only 5 songs reached me like this one did and continues to do so today.

I'm sorry to tell you, but we probably won't get a mix of this one. The guns' name usually are not the theme song, just a classic music reference (For example, in Bayonetta 1, the guns' name was Scarborough Fair, while the main theme was Fly Me To The Moon)

I recall seeing this on tv. One of the cutest performances I have ever seen. Pet really has a solid voice and can hold her notes.

There are songs so unique to a particular artist that no other artist dares to do the cover.
Georgy Girl for The Seekers is one example and Color My World for Petula Clark is another.

By means of sound only on the radio, this song had a most immediately arresting quality above most others. A 10 out of 10 for me. Only 5 songs reached me like this one did and continues to do so today.

I don't think that's the song we'll get but that could be fun. Scarborough Fair and Love Is Blue (the gun names in 1&2)didn't get a remix. I think we'll have a 3rd "classic song with Moon in the title", and I bet on Oh, You Crazy Moon
