When working for Nevada Gold mines, they used some of those as man baskets. Outriggers for stability, man basket on the front and man carrier on the back. Mostly used for drill holes or utilities underground.
I like seeing the equipment that's been modified for a new use. Some of them were pretty creative in how to adapt a piece of equipment for usage in the mines since it wasn't like they could just run down to the local dealer and get the equipment they needed for a one-off requirement.
I’m so glad you do this type of content the way you do it. I’m going to be doing the same thing with auction/ cornfield find trucks and equipment. Between you, C&C and Matt I’m doing a free internship on heavy equipment A zero degree nozzle and acid downstream with your pressure washer on scalding will get most of it off.
They make all brands of concrete remover, have used a few on concrete tools, wheelbarrows, forms, etc. Kinda work, lol. (Can't remember which, major brand like sackcrete, LeFarge...). I've heard vinegar, muriatic acid (we used to clean stone & tools, diluted, lol). Acid works well, just gotta be careful & wash off... Thanx !
Thanks for the look at what I assume is a fairly rare piece of equipment. I've seen my fair share of specialized equipment, but that is a new one for me. That said, it is so specialized that I can't imagine there is much of a market for it, and if there is, what was it doing in the auction? It seems like it would likely cost a heck of a lot of time and money to turn it into something useful. I've got a feeling that your best bet will be parting that machine out. With any luck, the components are interchangeable with other CAT equipment, so you can recoup your costs quickly. That F350 is looking good.
On the D10r. Are you going to tear it down to the bare frame. Inspect the frame for damage and cracks. Paint it so machined surfaces can't rust to have it ready to sell to a customer with a cracked frame.
I've been around all kinds of equipment looking at the condition u mite try swimming pool acid and a brisil stiff brush, (The looks of it buy a 5 gal bucket, lots of luck. )
Talk about a strange animal I couldn't even tell you what that was used for maybe some kind of specialty application search history on it and find out who the previous owners did could have been a railroad who knows

Personally, I'd like to see some more work on the old mine Peterbilt. Love them fixes and teardown videos. Way cool channel!
MAKE A BIG FORKLIFT OUT OF IT TO MOVE YOUR PARTS FROM THE SHOP TO THE WASH BAY AND AROUND THE YARD..

Vinegar will help to release the concrete from that machine. My guess would be that it was used for spraying shotcrete underground.

Thanks for watching!
looks like a drill rig of sorts drill rig on the front, compressor on the back platform and out riggers so you dont roll back when drilling.
I would say a drilling rig of sorts
Yeah make some videos on fixing the ole 7.3 and for the odd machine you should retro fit it Off road fork truck? Or road paint sprayer maybe

My thoughts exactly
I wrecked my 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 diesel 4x4 and I want to find another....what do you want for the ford 350?

Shotcrete rig?
Must have been
if it was used under ground it probably had a drill rig on the front or a drum fore cleaning the face of the shaft
Underground mining man carrier
Look like a roof bolter rig they use it to put bolts in to the roof in mining to secure the roof of the mine so it will not fall
Whatcha gonna do with the Peterbilt?

Good idea!
that thing was obviously used to locate land mines
its in great shape it would last a long time. i wouldnt be in any hurry to sell it without finding a repleacement
How about highway line spraying rig?
Looks like that machine spent time around fracking.
put some forks on it use it for moving burning gear round the yard set it permeant on the back
muriatic acid will remove concrete just be careful with it

Do more on that Ford. Love those things!

A little more focused video would be preferable IMHO
Looking forward to seeing future videos about the D10R and F350 😊
Drill rig from inside a mine
