People get God’s hatred confused with the hatred that the Westboro Baptist Church preaches. We must tell people that they are under God’s wrath, but preach it in love and grace. We must also tell them of God’s grace on the cross. This is the perfect combo that is completely biblical. I absolutely love this sermon.

@KayPerestrello When you recognize God's hatred for sinners, and the enmity that exists between God and sinners apart from Christ, the miracle of God's love for those with whom he gave his Son becomes even more remarkable. It puts into perspective how God when he commands us to love our enemies, do good to them that hate you into a light that reveals God commanding us to do that which he himself has already done.

  • @crem004

Do you not know that the fire is God's just wrath and hatred towards sin and the sinner? The scriptures testify of God's hatred towards the sin AND the sinner. Yet, God is love and while we were sinners He died for us. That was God's display of perfect love...that while He had great hatred toward us, He gave His Son to die for us to show His great love.

Christians should be open to ask questions, fighting the good fight of faith, not confirmed to the things of this world. We are not insecure or sceptical! People like Paul Washer actually care about your souls, not using tricks or the latest gimmicks, stimulating your nerve endings with temporary emotional self preaching (hype). Confronting problems is an opportunity for change and setting people free which leads to true repentance at the foot of the cross!

In psalms 5:4 and proverbs 6:16 it says that God not only hates wickedness, but the wicked themselves. But like Paul says this is not the same kind of selfish hatred that we display, but that it is a Holy and righteous hatred which is a lot worse for us. In romans 5 it says that we are enemies of God and that God's wrath is upon us. Romans 1 says that we are wickedly depraved and God hating. We hate God therefore He hates us.

Exactly right. There's error in this teaching. God hates sinners SO much that He took his very begotten Son and sent him into a world of pure evil and let Him be ANNIHILATED on a cross... Tortured, whipped, beaten, flesh ripped off his bones than nailed to a cross. ... He really hates sinners doesn't He? NO! ... For SO LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.~ (John 3:16) ... "God loved us before we loved Him."... God rewardeth both fools and transgressors .... "I did not come to save the righteous but sinners." ... "I come not to destroy men's lives but to save them." ... "God would have it so that ALL flesh would be saved."
You have great discernment sister. He needs to correct this sermon and change it to teaching on the "WRATH" of God... God does hate evil and wickedness and sin. To teach a doctrine that, lost, wicked people are people God hates is 100% Contradiction to the Gospel and entire purpose of why He sent is own SON to be butchered on on a cross for us sinners: miserable, wretched, poor blind and naked: ... Regardless it's incorrect and irresponsible to teach a message like this when "It's the LOVE of God that leadeth a sinner to repentance" ... Telling miserable sinners "God hates you" is a Westoboro Baptist tactic that does NOT inspire or win souls. I'll leave you with this beautiful passage of scripture from Ephesians 2:
4 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
      2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
      4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
God bless you, and stay in the LOVE and LIGHT of our Abba/Father and be preacher of the GOOD~NEWS!

why? because he preached the Word? Remember this before its too late: *the Word of God is not a one-sided sword. It is a double-edged sword.* The same Word that says God is love also says "God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day. If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready." We must prefer to hear the double-edged Word than to have our ears tickled. God's Love is on one hand and His Wrath is on another. He gives us grace that we MIGHT receive Love. If we reject His love, we face the full wrath of God. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, the Bible says.
We love to quote John 3:16 but we do not really understand that is carries the love and anger of God towards us. The cross is the wrath and the love of God made manifest. If we do not understand the wrath of God, then we do not understand the love of God and we cannot truly understand why Christ really died. He died for God's wrath against us so that we might inherit God's love towards us. This is what Paul Washer preached. He preached the pure double edged Word of God.
The so-called Christians today do not know their God. They want to hear God is Love but block their ears from hearing God is Just. They do not understand that those who name by the name of Christ MUST depart from evil. They do not understand that *to fear the LORD is to hate evil and to love God is to hate evil.*

All grace. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. IT is free. Romans 11:6
This man is preaching salvation by works. He is a false teacher. Matthew 7:15-23. Those that believe what He is teaching will hear Jesus say, Depart from me I never knew you, Not I did know you and now I don't, I never knew you. He will not enter in by faith alone, and He will not let you enter in either. Thank God Jesus paid my sin debt in full so I would not have to go to hell to pay for them. AMAZING GRACE, JESUS PAID IT ALL, AND WE PAID 0. IT IS FREE. ROMANS 6:23 Ephesians 2:8-9 First Corinthian 15:1-4
Galatian 1:7-9 Though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you let them be accursed. As we said before, so say I again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that which ye have received, let him be accursed.
John 3:16 John 3:18 John 3:36 John 5:24 John 6:37 John 6:39 John 6:40 and John 10:28 First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know ye have eternal life. Not by what we do but by what He did for us.

It will not be sin that is cast into the lake of fire, but sinners. It will be love that casts sinners into the lake of fire. The love for righteousness, holiness and truth will be what puts every sinner who is without repentance, without the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit and without the cleansing power of Christ's sacrifice into the lake of fire to know only the wrath of God for all eternity.

No He does not. He loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son here to die on a cross for you. His precious blood can save you and wash you clean from your sins.
      2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

I absolutely enjoy Paul Washer and believe he is anointed. Except, I think he has it wrong on this one. If God hates sinners, then how could he love the world to give up his only begotten son? I say it isn't true, I'm not sure what bible he is reading from but my KJV in Psalms 5:5 says "workers" of iniquity. You must understand what iniquities are to use this verse in the pulpit. Isaiah 53:5 -"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Workers of iniquity would refer to the demonic realm. Jesus said if you look at another women in lust you've committed adultery. Iniquity is the unrighteousness or evil in your heart. You have use the whole bible in context with a given scripture. Read John 3:16 plz. Or Romans 5:8. We must understand God's love for us and how much he desires a relationship with us. He gave up his son, and through his blood God chooses to forget our transgressions and iniquities so he can have an intimate relationship with us. Spend more time with our Father, Brethren. Much Love :)

Eric Watson He read Scripture, so you think God is wrong, not Paul...John 3:16 says God loved the world, meaning not just the Jews, but Jew & Gentile and gave His Son so that The Believing Ones (literally the Greek says) would not perish but have eternal life....God's Son came to die and extinguish His wrath, but against believes...And that love was displayed at a specific event, the cross. Jesus Himself says unless u believe the wrath of God REMAINS upon you. It's just a matter of when the full extent of that wrath is carried out fully and finally, it is carried out daily in measures mixed with mercy, see Romans 1

When I saw my firstborn, minutes after he came to this world. I was actually thinking about the idea of original sin. That was the moment that I found this doctrine revolting. My son was offensive to a god holyness, just for the mere fact that he exists?. My son is not perfect, but the love that connects me to him is.
I can assure you, that love is not your god. I despise Christianity for this, because it demands parents to prefer God holyness over their children. A god that demands that, is not a good God. This pastor needs you to believe this, because his status and his lifestyle depends on your fear.
When you are afraid, you don't question anything, this is why the ideas of original sin and hell don't go away.

@69hulkk the reason we don't understand God's love is because we don't understand what is righteousness or holiness. it is so foreign to our sinful and wicked natures, we don't really have a clue what it is. but of all the things that God praises above anything else, by stating it three times in a row, it is his holiness. Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD God Almighty. this is the cry of the angels that have been around his throne for thousands of years.

Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and Love keeps no record of being wronged. Love does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, Love never loses faith, Love is always hopeful, and Love endures through every circumstance."

@BeholdTheCross Our Father commands us to love, bless, and forgive our enemies, but apparantly ppl like Washer say that God cannot do the same to His? The doctrine of hell, was created by men, not God. Do you honestly believe our Father says repent, love me, and worship me or else? Turn or Burn? The problem is these carnal minds cannot understand the true spiritual message of love, mercy or the forgiveness of the only Father we have. Does not love conquer all? Is it not unconditional?

Our Father says Repent from evil which is the flipside of loving God. If we continue to revel in evil then God will punish us and his justice will be made manifest to all. @KayPerestrello To experience the wrath of God is of such great terror that it caused the Son of God to cry tears of blood at the thought of its imminent approach. But the greatness of the Son's faithfulness was that even in the face of this grave reality, yet for the love of the Father, and for the love of his own, he was ready to take up this cup, and did. To that belongs the praise of the Lord forever, whose mercy endures forever.

The authors of the Bible are using anthropomophic expressions in order to try and understand God(even though all human expressions fall short). So under Washer's logic when the Bible says Moses saw God's back, he literally saw a man floating in the sky with his back turned to him. Or when it says God regretted his creation in Genesis, he literally felt a human emotion of regret(continued)

The opposite of love is not hate, it is neutrality, indifference. And God would not "intervene" with himself; one may not intervene with oneself. It is not a matter of intervention of a self, it is a matter of changing the thought and behavior of a self, for whatever reason or reasons. That would simply be a continuation of self with altered perspective.

God is love yes, but he is also a consumming fire. Read 2 peter chapter 2, psalm 5, psalm 11:5. Does god love those who won't repent, if so why do they go to hell? God knows who will choose him in the end therefore it based upon his foreknowledge that determines upon who his wrath sits, because he knows ahead of time who will choose him and who will deny him. Read romans 8:31-39. It speaks of believers, not unbelievers. These are yet only a few passages. There are arguments that could be made for both sides but the main question is who is his love directed towards. Could it be that he loved them enough to provide them a savior, but hates them because he knows they will deny him. Could it be both? One thing I do know is that jesus died on the cross and rose again the third day. Believe and be saved. God is not the author of confusion.

    Does God Hate Sinners?
There are many Old Testament (old covenant) verses that talk about God hating sinners. Leviticus 20:23; Psalm 11:5; 26:5; Proverbs 6:16-19; 16:5; Hosea 9:10-15 and Malachi 1:2-3. These passages teach that God hates sinners or evil and wicked people.
In contrast the New Testament (New Covenant) scriptures also teach that God loves everyone.
    Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
John 3:16 New King James Version
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
    1 John 4:8-9
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
Luke 6:35-36 New King James Version
35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
Many teachers that hold to the notion that God hates sinners tend to use Old Testament verses to justify their theology. Yes, the whole Bible is the inspired word of God, But again let us be reminded that we are under a new covenant.
Our main example of God loving sinners is found in Jesus. Jesus showed the world God’s love when He came to earth and healed the sick, cleansed the lepers, delivered the demon possessed, fed the multitudes and Died for all. How many of them where sinners? All of them, because Jesus had not died on the cross yet.
God loves the sinner (the person who is sinning) and wants to save them from their sin. On other words, He loves the person apart from thier sin.
    Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
    Romans 5:10
    New Living Translation
10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son
The Word of God loudly screams that God loves everyone. He rescued the wicked city of Nineveh through a reluctant prophet called Jonah. Jesus died for the sins of the world. But in contrast to the holy believers, God is not very pleased with those who reject Him. Yet, God loves the world.
God will leave the 99 to rescue the 1 that is lost.
He loves you apart from your sin. He loves the sinner enough to die for the sinner. He wants to rescue the sinner from thier sin. The fact that Jesus died for the world shows us how much He loved sinners by going to a cross and dying for them.
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
So yes, God loves the sinner and wants to rescue them from thier sin.
