Can you program Police channels into it like the built in units?
No, police channels these days are all encrypted, in Australia at least. That’s how I understand it. For many years I used to have a police scanner on my desk for work as a journalist. Miss them days!
For what it's worth a pi and an SDR capable of P25 decoding can do it.
