- ThusKindlySheScatters, back at it again during the hiatus with ANOTHER finale from Marianas Trench! This time, it's "The Killing Kind," the last song on their new album "Phantoms," which was released on March 1.
This one's mostly Volume Six footage, but even stuff not from there has the general theme of loyalty and brotherhood. I hope you all enjoy!

I don't know why but I kinda love the long part focusing on Qrow, he's got a lot of damage and hurt in him that has never been addressed, and it only gets worse and worse. The line, "I don't love the bottle but the bottle loves me." Just like hits home.

For me, I love the qrow input because the voice sounds like vic.
I still tear up remembering the picture he carries of his whole team back when it WAS whole. Not just him and TaiYang seeing each other every now and then, but Summer was alive and Raven was different, and was her best person. The part of the photo that really gets me was that little subtle detail over Summer in the picture. There’s a water mark from a glass over where she is. There’s some drops that either be from tears or condensation.😢
And the scene after getting stung by Tyrian where he’s either delirious or sleep talking just hurt me. “Tai…She’s not coming back.”😭😭😭💔
Whether or not he felt romantic feelings towards Summer Rose, her death still crushed him. And from what we knew of him up to that point, both the picture and those words just hit me hard.
Qrow really cared about Summer and his whole team. I just wished they actually explained more about his sister Raven. Up until the end of Vol.5, I actually believed Ozpin did something specifically to cause Raven to leave. I even thought when it turned out she was the spring maiden that that was why she left. And Ozpin did something directly/indirectly to give her the spring maiden powers and she resented him for it, knowing full well everything it entailed, risks and all. That’s probably not true now, but that would have fixed a BUNCH of issues with Raven’s story in the plot. I still liked her though.👍

This is plain perfection. It's like 20 different AMV's in one. RWBY told in less than 7 minutes with amazing music and editing.
I'm still busy binge-watching every single rwby-amv I can find which is more than 60 so far

I love how you can see the colors grow more saturated with the swells in the music. I feel like that's what an AMV should be: a visualization of the music using the footage from a particular piece of media. And you nailed it. The whole montage at the end lining up with the beats of the song was awesome and, as I mentioned, you visualized the swells in the music perfectly. I think this is my favorite AMV of yours.
I already screamed about this on Tumblr, but I feel the need to reiterate, this is amazing!!! You do so well syncing with the lyrics, and paying attention to the beat of the song, your AMVs are always a joy to watch.
5:45 - 5:50 I love how at 'Together bound in madness' it abruptly switches to Oscar/Ozpin.
I've never finished an AMV and said Holy shit that was amazing, but today I just did. Not because this is Marianas Trench, but because this was genuinely an epic AMV, I didn't expect this. Wow
got served this video from watching some other marianas trench stuff and i'm so glad the algorithm pulled through, because this is INCREDIBLY well done. and just looking through your other recent uploads you've got some impeccable taste in music so i'm excited to look through and see what other cool stuff you're injecting into the FNDM

This is such a beautiful tribute to the old RWBY and both tribute and celebration of the new. Not lying, this actually made me accept the newer tone, direction, and seasons fully, finally.

also I was planning on making an amv with the same song / series (no hard feelings! if anything, it's really cool to compare, and learn from a more experienced editor!) and I especially love how our direction lines up! (the parts with the season 5 fight, and the parts with qrow / ruby / raven, and blake reuniting especially! we share the same brain) you're a fantastic editor!

Woah, this is amazing. I'm serious when I say this might go directly into my Top 5 RWBY AMVs. I'd put it right next to "Glitter & Gold" as AMVs so good I could use them as (very spoilerific) trailers to get people into the show.

All of those clips with with Qrow and Raven really make me want to know the back story of STRQ. The music and clips highlight the pain and history there. Love your use of B&W. Beautiful synchronization of the clip with music, as always. The ones that especially hit the feels where the ones at the end with the hugs and relationships.

I dont watch RWBY anymore, I've become rather disillusioned by both Rooster Teeth and all their brands, but for a good 9 or 10 years, as dramatic as it sounds, I lived for their content. The reason I decided to watch this wonderful AMV is because Marianas Trench is my favorite band, and The Killing Kind is one of my favorite songs of theirs.
I'm so glad I watched this, dispite my not being invested in the show any more, it reminded me of all the good times, as well as being a well executed amv. Thank you so much for this! You did wonderful, and for such a long song, too!

I literally cannot stop watching from 4:59 until the end!!! Especially the montage of all the episodes!! I LOVE IT!!!!
Also, curious question: What editing software do you use? I made a couple of AMVs using HitFilm Express, which is a great free option, but the audio can't seem to line up when I make longer videos (ex. 6-7 minutes long) for some odd reason. Besides, I've been wanting to upgrade anyways. ^_^
While I wasn’t using it when I made this video, I currently use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and Adobe After Effects to color correct! However, if you’re just starting out, those can be a little overwhelming, so I’d recommend learning on something like iMovie or WeVideo.
Can someone explain to me how the first 3 minutes of this song can slap so hard and then it just goes off the rails? Like they feel like two completely different songs. Still enjoyed though
