penny is one of the more interesting "robot girl" characters I've seen for one subtle but HUGE reason: Penny is the _reactor_ in that system while the "robot girl" part is for all intents and purposes a prosthetic. let me try to put into a meaningful perspective what that actually means for her: she doesn't just have nothing but prosthetic limbs she doesn't even just see the world through eyes that aren't quite hers no it goes deeper than that the information processing to run all of that and even large chunks of her data storage and reasoning centers are prosthetics too, in human terms her BRAIN is only about halfway part of her at best let alone her senses and body.
