    Network bandwidth is typically delineated in bits-per-second (bps), not bytes-per-second. ;>
    That being said, good practical tests under real-world conditions. Thanks for taking the time & effort to create this mini-documentary.
    Rokid Max 1200p/120Hz/16:10 AR glasses work very well for both streamed & local games.
    Finally, there’s a lot you can do to play games with surprising fidelity & performance on the current crop of 7840U- & 8840U-based handhelds, & upscaled to the full device resolution. You might want to take the time to tinker with FSR 3 & FMF on your Ally, & compare this experience with streaming.

    Keep in mind, when you're in a hotel, you want to get a room closer to the wifi hub. I traveled for work often, and when I was doing similar things you could always tell which coworker was closest as their speeds would be much faster than those of us who were further away, and often performance was so much better in those rooms.

      Good point! I used to do some networking for a company that owned some hotels, it definitely is best to be closer to an access point if possible. I even stayed at a hotel once where the access point just happened to be on the wall in my room behind a dresser. My signal was great that day haha!

    i love how far you’ve taken this concept, this the exact thing i was wondering about when i first got into game streaming, it would be cool to have a fun just plug a phone or something to a tv at the hotel to play with family or something, love ur stuff

    Dude. I absolutely love this whole series you've done. Subscribed! I'm gonna set up my system to mirror what you've done here. Wish me luck! Also, keep it up with the vids. 😊

    Maybe this was covered in a previous video, are you using vpn back to your house or how are you connecting to your PC remotely from outside your network securely? Just curious, I love the examples and walk through of setup in your other videos, awesome content, giving the people what they want.

      Thanks for the kind words! Sunshine is the host program that is running on my PC back home. It has automatic router configuration to be able to connect over the internet remotely with Moonlight. If you are looking for capability and security beyond the built in automatic configuration on Sunshine, then I would point you to ZeroTier for more advanced configurations. I hope this helps and as always thanks for watching!

    I littealy love your videos, they are so relaxing and infomitive to watch!! I have setup my own game streaming service on my PC as well, honestly, I think cloud gaming/game streaming is the future of gaming. What do you think Dylan?

      Thank you for the kind words! Of course I am very happy with my game streaming setup, and I will absolutely continue game streaming more in the future, but if your question is will game streaming take over from local gaming in the future? I don’t think so, but who knows! I see both methods existing cooperatively. I could see game streaming already being the main method for some people, but for most people they will probably stick with local gaming. But I of course encourage everyone to at least try game streaming 😎

    How's the battery life? I think that'll be the biggest win since a handheld only has a couple hours battery life. Did you record that?

    • @dylanmacintosh
      @dylanmacintosh  Год назад +1

      Great question! I didn’t specifically record the battery life this time around, so I’ll have to record another test! In general it didn’t seem to put a dent in my iPhone Pro or iPad Pro battery, and there was always a charger nearby, and like you say the bar here is pretty low as Steam Deck and ROG ally and other gaming handhelds are typically just a couple hours battery life (if they were running the same game natively at similar resolution and framerate). So I guess what I’m trying to say here is I didn’t test it because it wasn’t ever a worry, which in itself is a great sign I suppose. But also it’d be a good test which I will plan on doing. Thanks!
