- A Roland S-1 synth cover of the Interstellar main theme. Performed with a custom patch solely on the Roland S-1, recorded with a Zoom F1. A very small mix of Valhalla Supermassive was added in post to supplement the S-1's already great reverb. The Roland S-1 is a fantastic piece of equipment for it's price. I purchased mine a few months ago in Copenhagen and have been finding new ways to use it every time I use it.

That synth (cause it's a real synth, don't be fooled by its size) is a beast, one of the best roland products ever.
i whised they had made it a bit bigger :(
I got mine this morning. Very nice.
Beautiful!
That was great!
Lovely and hypnotic. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these.
thank you! Highly recommend it, it's an amazing piece of gear - especially for the price.
Gorgeous, well done!
Thank you!
Amazing music. A whole movie captured in that little machine and your ability to use it.
Thank you! That means a lot!
Awesome!! 😍😍
Beautiful
Thank you!
I listened to this as I was drifting off to sleep. It blew my mind in such a beautiful way. Thank you!
Thanks so much! That means quite a lot to me
I just ordered one and it's coming in the mail tomorrow! Im so excited, and this is so inspiring! Great sound!
Thanks! I just published a tutorial on how to make this song -- I hope you enjoy your S-1!
It wont come. It will get lost in the mail. You will never recieve it. Its like a fatamorgana. A dream. Figment. It will never arrive. Sorry.
I have an S-1 and haven't fully utilized it. Thanks for sharing!
It's an excellent piece of music making gear. I'm finding new ways to make sounds with it al the time
Very cool!
Thank you!
Amazing. The best performance with an s1 I’ve seen so far!
Thanks! More solo S-1 performances coming soon!
@@markyounq I bought one two weeks ago and it is a super nice device. Do you also have the t8? Looking forward to your other solos
No, I travel a lot so just a S-1 and an OP-Z which I'm waiting to recieve back after a warranty return. The S-1 can fake hi-hats decently with the noise osc., if you haven't tried that.
I travel a lot too…haven’t taken the s1 (yet) on any of my trips. I do run FL on my surface go which lets me do some creative work in planes and hotels. I’ll have a look at the op z.
@@markyounq had a Quick Look at the opz. Cool device!!!
Very cool, man. Well done.
Thank you very much!
you blew my mind, thank you!
Glad to hear that! Thanks !
@@markyounq can I mix it with Alan Watts and some techno track? :)
That's very cool 😎
thank you!
Чувак ты крут! Открываешь новые горизонты, как в фильме.
great cover, congrats!
thanks a lot!
Very Nice !😃
Thank you!
Nice one! 😃
thanks!
❤❤❤
We want more please.
I'll be posting a new S-1 video soon!
You blew my mind. One of my fav instrumental songs, and you got it out of the S1?!?
Thanks! That means a great deal. Yeah, I was surprised at how quickly the patch & pattern came together. The S-1 is a fantastic little machine
I have the S1 and the T8, and I’m having a very hard time putting them down 😂. Being a guitar player though, I have a lot to learn. Your talent is inspiring and a testament to what can be achieved with one piece of great gear.
@@forthedeafI'm the same way -- I'm thinking of adding the T-8 after all the rave reviews I've seen. Would you be interested in seeing patch videos on this channel? Trying to figure out what direction to go from here
@@markyounq yes, def patch videos 💯. Also how to break out of the 16/32 mind set. As a beginner, I’m stuck thinking short form. How do you transition from one phrase to the next, but keep some parts going to keep the theme?
Also, videos like yours show that you can score and create full length pieces. I think the huge power of this box (other than the sounds) is that you can make music anywhere, and to create at will??? Wow.
Would love a video on how to create this track
I just finished a tutorial for it, up on my channel now!
prettyyy
Roland ❤️🔥👍🫠
hot damn, this is all just s-1?
Sure is - I used a very small 10% mix of Valhalla Supermassive in post to extend the reverb a bit further, mostly just smoothed out some rough edges.
Hammer geil!
danke schon! Spreche kein deutch seit schule-- but I would be happy to make a tutorial!
A tutorial is up on my channel now!
Did you knit a sweater after this?
My girlfriend did! I liked the yarn colors so much, I just left them on the table while I filmed
What are the notes or chords for this ?
I think
F maj 7 with f in the bass
E minor 7 with g in the bass
A minor with a in the bass
E minor 7 with g in the bass
Sorry, missed this -- IIRC, @manuelgafgen2265 is pretty spot on. Would you be interested in a short tutorial video? I could go find my notes for this one and make a quick video
@@markyounq hey thanks !
I think I figured it out from a TikTok tutorial and watching your fingers .
Got it programmed in my s-1 and it sounds good . All this stuff is brand new to me and I can't even read notes .
anyway a tutorial video would be nice too and definitely helpful for others !
made 2 RUclips uploads so far with S-1 and T-8 , just messing around
@@bauschnlomb1 that T-8 AND S-1 jam sounded really good! Keep going and keep having fun with it!
Sorry for the delay, but I finally put up a tutorial for this!
How did you get the riff? Do you have the recipe?
All notes are as shown in the video except I play an octave lower FGAG in time with the scale.
Was that really the sun or ambient lighting?
I used a 100W COB LED with some translucent blue sheet in front of it to make the lighting.
please clean that thing
