Great review. This bag has been my go to carry for about the last 6 weeks. The big selling point for me was being able to toss in my 20oz water bottle along with my other daily things. I agree 100% that color and material options would be awesome. Thx
Thanks for the cool Review I bought a compact edc sling and it was to small for my daily needs. So i bought the Bellroy Venture Sling 9L Awesome product, but nowadays i see myself using a big backpack and the Bellroy is to big to keep my valuebles in Front. Will try this Tomtoc, cause blue/ Black is such a great color pairing in my eyes
Just ordered this in xpac. I have been going through crossbody bags and Waistpack bags trying to find one kinda like my bellroy chimera sling. Something I can wear every day that can carry my edc things. I have tried alpaka (hardwarewas to bulky), waterfield, nutsac, and black ember grip sling, and even though they are awesome bags, I wouldn't wear it at work and risk getting it damaged. I think the strap set up on the tomtoc 5.5L X-Pac Sling will be ideal. Should be here today before 10pm😂😂😂😂😂 I like the fact that the buckle won't be digging into my shoulder.
Huge Tomtoc fan. I have the T-21 in 4L and 7L. Thinking about getting this one. I like duraflex buckles and so many brands are using magnetic which I hate.
The side buckles reminds me of the alpaka go sling, the inside main section reminds me aer pro sling, I dig it, especially if they allow custom colors later
I already have two Tomtoc bags. I really like this bag, I recently started looking for a slightly larger (6l) sling for times when my 4l EDC compact Tomtoc is just a little too small. I find the Bellroy Venture out due to the potential to loose items out each end when the zipper is fully closed. While the blue insert in the front pocket is helpful, I'd love Tomtoc to start using hi-vis orange inside the other compartments. Thanks for the great reviews! I've found them quite helpful. I ordered the T-26 today via your link.
Wow!ihave the compact edc from tomtoc which is use for my travels and i am searching for another tomtoc edc sling, your video is a life saver! I happy to see the size difference b/w the two, cheers you got my subs!
I hope this is going to be a great personal item bag for flights with 1.5 bag travel. I’ve been looking for something with more organization than the Bellroy Lite sling that’ll still fit my iPad mini and can holder a travel wallet with passport in a back pocket. Thanks for the review. It’s out in X- Pac in coyote brown with orange interior now if you’re still looking for new colors.
I toooootally agree with the color choices sooo many bags choose. Which as you said, makes sense because that's what a lot of people want. It just...yea. To me if a bag is going to be black, it better be x pac or have a hook and loop field. Great review as always. Thanking youuuuu! Love the one piece themed wallet build.
Solid review! I appreciate the one take idea. Very no frills, here it is. I have both bags and they are practical and such a great value for the money. Yes, Peak Design, Alpaka and Belroy, but honestly, for what you get with these bags, for me it's Tomtoc all the way. Keep it up homie!
Very good review. I tried this sling and really liked it, but I returned it becuase I don't think slings are for me. However, it's a great gateway sling for those interested in trying slings.
Hey Klint. Great channel, and thanks for this review. Because of it, I bought this bag, and I love it. However, I think I may return it. Here's why: I emailed TomToc about whether they have plans to make the Wander-T26 in X-Pac, and they said it's in production now. Conservative estimate they gave was 3-5 months, so hopefully even sooner. I also asked about whether it'll be available to custom make, but no answer yet.
@@darklineup That really is a shame. I hope they give us more options than just the black Xpac then. If they release likeb 3-4 X-Pac colors (like a lot of Alpaka's slings) I could see this becoming their best selling sling overtime. I've had this bag in my cart at least a half a dozen times since its release, but the black ballistic always changes my mind. most of the time I've turned to Alpaka. Have 4 Alapaka (all x-pac) and two tomtoc slings (non x-pac) currently. However, would really love this sling in colored x-pac for my collection. :/
Good morning from Texas. Excellent review, I’m looking for a bag that is more like a man purse that rides on the hip not up and down. I don’t like stacking my stuff. I like to set it in there and be able to find it easier. I’m lazy thanks.
I just ordered one. I have the compact 4L EDC bag you showed, but I’ve been wanting a little bit more space. My iPad mini in a rugged case can be a little hard to zip up. Didn’t quite want the 7L sling.
I was checking out the XPAC version but this one was on sale, and I honestly am perfectly fine with the 1680D nylon and have no practical reason to pay $30 extra for the XPAC version (don't get me wrong the cool factor tempted me). I'm one of those people who likes to have some plain black bags for office and work travel, I'd rather not call attention to the bag or its contents. I like this because I want to carry either a good size water bottle and/or a Steam Deck, just not at the same time, and this will do either with some pockets for a few other small things.
I actually returned this bag (very nice and roomy but I didn't find it all that comfortable) and got the alpaka go sling, curious to see how it compares
@@marybethmaloyG that’s what I have been planning to buy but I stumbled upon this Tomtoc sling bag one day while scrolling through youtube and it caught my attention because I love a touch of blue 😆
My friend thank you for the awesome review! How did you tie the Paracord on the top handle? That looks so cool I actually thought it came with the bag like that but that’s definitely a great way to personalize it. 🎉🎉 7:05
Yeah. I can’t stand a plain black bag so I added the para cord. I should have said that more explicitly, I just bought some colored para cord off Amazon and followed a RUclips tutorial.
Hi! Great review! I’m a big fan of Tomtoc! This is an updated version of the bag I have. Question: in the main compartment, does the middle divider still have a zip pocket on it? Mine does. I actually found it by accident! --Michael
Another great review! Do you really think the Loculus is small enough for a strap like that tomtoc? I guess it does come with a shoulder pad option, but still not sure. lol I really hope they release some different x-pac colors besides black though. That's always the issue for me with tomtoc. And i'm running out of Alpaka xpac sling options. I too need color in my bags lol.
First time watching, excellent review and you seemed to have covered all the important points. I caary my Sig Sauer 365 in my tomtoc edc compact sling (4 L) and it fits well but I'm looking for just a little bit more room. I know you compared both the 4l n 5.5l "size wise", does the 5.5 L feel that much bigger when you're actually carrying it? Thank you
I have the Go Sling and a sling with these buckles as well. They are similar in concept but different. The tomtoc buckles clip in from the top and are much thinner. the Alpaka ones are much bulkier, you pull up from the bottom to clip it in, so they are like double stacked to the side. They are both better than most, but the Alpaka ones seem much better quality overall. However, i do prefer the slimness of the tomtoc ones. lol
Got another question for you Klint. I’m trying to find a large sling primarily for use as crossbody on the back. Think 20 oz water bottle, non packable rain shell, phone, portable charger, sunscreen, wallet. I’m also mainly a backpack guy and slings usually feel strange to me. I tried the evergoods mhp and it still seemed too tight in terms of space and didn’t love the way it rode. This lead me to think the metrorunner or the loculus with the nice padded straps might be what I’m looking for. How is the size of the mhp compared to metrorunner, loculus and this tomtoc? The price of the tomtoc is appealing for sure. Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree and should stick with a backpack. Thanks for being awesome!
Well - with your list - you could do a Metrorunner or Loculus for sure - but be aware the bottle will eat up the entire main compartment or at least 80% of it. You do have two other options…. Look at slings that account for a bottle with a sleeve like the CTactical CT5 or also consider a vertical sling that has a little more space inside - like this one: amzn.to/3OgHlih
I dislike what society has made them into . I miss seeing the savage side of things . Indians were the best at things . My family goes back to sitting bull it would be amazing to live like they did
Just received my t26 today. Had the x-pac version of the smaller tomtoc but I needed something bigger. It’s really great 👍🏼 how did you do the upgrade to the handstrap? Is it just cord band?
Dang! This is a nice one, it seems like a better organized Kadet Mini. Also you doing the Camino for your other channel? I know that book because my Dad did the Camino a few years ago. Thanks again for another great review!
Yes, for me personally. The Alpaka bag is better made, but I find that it's too skinny and that forced minimalism is annoying at times, especially for folks with big hands.
@@ThePerfectBag the flip side wallets are roughly 3 X 4.25 X 1. Thanks so much for checking. I have several similarly shaped/sized items to the flip side and have searching for the perfect bag that has several slip pockets inside to hold them but also enough zippered pockets to hold the other things I carry. Currently, have an Alpaka tech case max that is very close to meeting my needs but needs one or two more zippered pockets and that VERY shallow magnetic pocket in the center is just wasted space because of its depth.
