I personally don't mind if Bruce's voice is a little tired from tons of live performances in this era. It still sounds pretty good, and the fact that he gets his ass out there and gives it everything makes up for it. Bruce on his worst day destroys Beyonce and Bieber on their very best.
No, man. He's still flawless on this one. Playing Live will always sound different from studio recording. I challenge any other singer to match Bruce's powerful sustain.
I hope I can see them before they finally retire. But they're still kicking ass. Unbelievable that they're almost 70 and outperform 20-year-old bands. The fact that Bruce can still sing a lot of his hardest stuff at his age is amazing. He doesn't try to push his voice the way he used to though but most singers that sing clean and raspy and very powerful as well as operatic, most of them will throw their voice out if they do that every night
@@tazverhagen1472 a chick that likes iron maiden? I've never known one female that like them. My Mom hated them growing up just because they were metal but when she was in her seventies I was playing some of their live stuff and she asked me who's that because she liked the way Dave Murray played lead. And I told her that's the band you hated just because they were metal and because of their album covers. That's iron maiden mom. She said he's really good
They are never irrelevant. I saw the Live After Death show at the Long Beach arena. And many many times since then. Took my daughter to a show a couple years ago. We were in the pit- she was 8. It was amazing. She's now 13 and a life long fan. I have to hear this song every single morning as she gets ready for school. Sigh, shedding a little tear of happiness.
Really? Honestly i hate this song, the chorus is so whatever that i came here to see if somone think this too... Iron Maiden is obviously fantastic, but these song don't fits Bruce's voice! too much punk... maybe Dianno would be better singing this... but i don't like the song anyway hahaha
I saw Maiden in 2008 in Albuquerque and they were running all over the place through the end!!! What an impressive bunch of showmen! And their songs were dead on!
Although this is one of my favourite Maiden songs, on seeing it was a live recording I was going to pass over it. BUT, on playing the video I noticed it was from Birmingham, NEC, in 1988, and then i realised...I was there!! It did help at the time that I was friends with a few of the security staff at the NEC so I managed to get right down the front, and it was worth it. I can't see myself in the crowd but I did only go on the second of two dates, so weather or or not was recorded that night, who knows? Also, it was almost 34 years ago..Heck, that makes me feel old. Great sound though and i'm playing it time and time again now.
I've been a follower of Iron Maiden since early days to present. One most professional band in heavy metal, they definitely have the fans interest at heart. The thing I admire the most about is not only their music, but the fact that they are very family oriented,YOU see that very much in the music industry let alone In Heavy Metal. UP THE IRONS!!!!
@4:42 I've never noticed Bruce's stuttering singing (which is fantastic) because I was always making sure Steve didn't fall from that dive off the monitor.
I agree. Iron maiden is, like The Beatles, just one of these bands you just can't say no to. So optimistic, so excited, energetic and talented. You don't have to like metal to like Iron maiden ;)
This is, without a doubt, my favorit Maiden DVD! I mean, the synth and keyboards are a great match for Maiden. Bruce somehow manages to nail almost every song, though his voice was so damaged from the excessive touring (I really love the sound of his voice here, so emotional). They play the songs faster than ever, which makes it even more powerful and epic. And most importantly, the setlist is beyond perfect! Instead of playing Trooper & Icarus, they played Die With Your Boots On & Still Life... badass choices! They could learn from that in present time, instead of always playing the same hits whenever they tour with a new album (they did good in the last one though). They just blended their discography SO well together, and took some unexpected songs and some epic ones from Seventh Son. And respect for not playing much from Powerslave, which was their biggest album at the time ;)
Love this band so fucking much!!!! I'm so glad my uncle showed me these! i've bought all of their albums spending my money that was supposed to be for school
Nothing says a friday night without headbanging to this awesome tune. I will always love this band and im glad I saw this band at an early age instead of a damn Nicki Minaj video or something
Man they sounded absolutely incredibly well live back in those days...although they played most of the songs on a faster tempo than on the records, their tightness is amazing! In my opinion, Maiden England is the pinnacle of their live officially recorded performances, at least when it comes to "classic" Maiden.
Salud y Vida Pa'lante !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
Ha ha- I remember seeing Dickinson in 97 at the Bulldog Bash. Nearly got bottled off stage because the Miss Wet T-Shirt national finals were on next. Say what you like about the Hells Angels, but they sure know how to throw a party.
Not into metal. Never was. I`m more into mid 70`s - mid 80`s punk. However, I always loved THIS song. Its just a good song & jam. Easy to cover as well
I personally don't mind if Bruce's voice is a little tired from tons of live performances in this era. It still sounds pretty good, and the fact that he gets his ass out there and gives it everything makes up for it. Bruce on his worst day destroys Beyonce and Bieber on their very best.
I mean, why bring up Beebs, moreover; J.Bs is a very talented musician.
A fan can LISTEN to your songs anywhere they want. Radio, CD, phone etc... They come to SEE THE SHOW! Bruce is one of the BEST
No, man. He's still flawless on this one. Playing Live will always sound different from studio recording. I challenge any other singer to match Bruce's powerful sustain.
Edward Maxwell Dio? That’s about all I could come up with.
Edward Maxwell Calm down fanboy

All in a nights work for Dave Murray. Beautifully done
CHANNEL TED cool, calm & collective that Mr. Murray
Their sound is so much tighter, so much cleaner, and so much overall better, with just two guitars.
Really, after ALL theese years ????????????????????????????????????????????
Because Gers is sloppy af. Always has been
I disagree it’s not better or worse , get used to it.

I´d LOVE to see this catchy, punchy song in their shows again......because NOBODY brings the HEATlike theese guys, NOBODY !!
Iron maiden absolutely rocks with this song!
Maiden, like the 'Scorps, are true professionals...one of the few bands that ALWAYS nail their songs, note for fucking note.
