Here's what CTI Corner Travel Index Means and my Jeep vs Chevy Toyota

- This is what happens when you get a few good friends that have some fun 4x4's together in Moab Utah during Easter Jeep Safari... a friendly FLEX OFF competition on the MetalCloak CTI trailer. CTI stands for Corner Travel Index and offers folks a chance to flex opposite corners of their rigs to see what kind of clearance they have and what might stop them from getting more!
I'm not going to spoil the surprise of who won our friendly competition and got bragging rights back at our airbnb that night with the most suspension travel but it might be an interesting reveal to some of you!
Check out the video for all the fun...
Thanks so much for watching... please make sure to subscribe to the @AutoEdits channel and hit the thumbs up button!
Here is a link to the Amazon store... any shopping you do after starting there helps me out.

Howdy everyone... thanks for being here and checking out the video!
BigMike here and we LOVE this video! It was AWESOME meeting & hanging out with Jason for an entire week! Come to find out, we have used some of AutoEdits' instructional videos while working on vehicles here which was so cool to realize in Jason's presence! Thank you Jason and looking forward to wheel'n together again!
For those wondering how an IFS Toyota can flex so well, search around for our "RCLT HD" setup, which is a patented Long Travel IFS kit specifically designed for Rock Crawling! Next time with a few adjustments I'll be looking to break the 850 mark 😉 LET'S GO IFS!! #RCLTHD
Watching your truck work REALLY makes me want to build a Toyota with your front suspension kit! It speaks to me! Nice being on the trail with you!
Awesome off roaders having fun together . Metal cloak trailer is great show we're can improve your rig . Hey it's all in fun !
It was all in fun!
@@AutoEdits Off roading for everyone no matter what build is fun as group !
Jason, this whole thing was a hoot. Fun times with some of my favorite people.
It was an absolute hoot! Thanks dude!
This is the trailer I need to visit. The boys at High Rolling Customs used a forklift to flex my Burban out after the SAS, but that didn’t identify some issues I’ve had.
They travel all over... I'm sure you'll get it sorted!
Ah, Metalcloak, the enemies of my credit card. We meet again.
HAHAHA!!!! NICE and sorry not sorry...😂
Wow that taco can flex for being a IFS
Mike has a long arm kit on it that works fantastic.
I knew your Jeep would do well, was surprised by the Suburban for sure!! Nates gladiator would technically be a lot higher on the list if he had smaller tires that didn’t stuff as soon as those 38s.
YUUUUUP!😂
I believe nate on 39s
Yoga! For Jeeps! Who knew? I like it! I always thought YOU were articulate... Now you KNOW your Jeep is quite articulate, too! Well done, you!
😁HA! Nicely done!
Jason you can totally get a lot more out of your suspension. You need larger shocks. Your losing up travel by having to bump stop them so your tires don’t rub, and you’ve got inches of shock left from what it looks like. Put some larger shocks in there so they’re bottoming out exactly when your tire is about to rub, then you’ll get all that down travel from them and actually utilize every inch your suspension has. And your drag link won’t hit the bottom of the frame which is super common for drag link flips and too much up travel. But still a dam good score for a bolt on “long arm” kit.
I’d love to get on that CTI trailer one day. Not only fun to see but a great tool to check suspension clearances and how it’s all working in conjunction with each other.
👍🤘
Very cool video, thanks for making it!
You bet!!!
What a cool thing for Metalcloak to do. Your Jeep scored pretty high, and even has room for improvement!
Yep!
Hi, this was a cool video and great content to show us all how our suspension works and where we need improvement. Do they have a stock measurement JKU? So when we start upgrading things we can see how things change as we develop our rides. Cool video. 👍
Yes they do!
Fun video Jason! Love MC and the cti trailer. I got to do it on my last jeep… got a glady now so less flex but hey still fun. Gonna hit moab here in about 4 weeks! Woot.
Have fun out there! 🤘
Just some really well built junk there…awesome test of suspension 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks 👍
I assume this is with the front pass control arm in the unlocked position? Would have been interesting to see how much it changes with it locked and unlocked.
I think it was actually locked for this since I was just in driving around town mode. Not sure it would give more up travel since the thing was on the bump stops but would give it better axle geometry at full articulation???
@@AutoEdits That's even more impressive if that was while having it locked. Having it unlocked probably would have allowed the driver side to droop more. Though I think one of the big advantages of it is saving the bushings, so they don't have so much binding force applied.
I think you nailed it!
This was awesome. This trailer is trraveling through okc tomorrow so excited to take my jeep up there and get a score.
Make sure to come back here and share the score!
@@AutoEdits I got a 690. I have a TJ on 33s and teraflex 3" short arm. The metalcloak guy running it had a sweet LJ and scored over 1000. Pretty awesome!
Interesting how the stock 4 door JK's can get over a 700.
Also interesting the new mojave JT's dont have sway bar disconnects. something to do with keeping the uptravel limited for the desert. They don't flex much at all it seemed like!
That flex ramp is so cool! I wonder if it is coming to the PNW anytime soon.
It really is... check the MetalCloak CTI tour on social media or their website.
That's really cool! I'm in love with that Suburban, that was definitely my top pick. I was impressed with the Taco, I didn't expect the front end to do that well. Definitely a strong second place showing for your Jeep, congrats!
@dirtlifestyle just posted a full feature on Mike's truck... it has his long arm front suspension and so much more going on! I was really happy with the Jeep!
@@AutoEdits yeah, that's a sick build! Definitely one of the coolest Tacomas that I've seen. I watched a few of his videos a couple years back, when he was showing off the Marlin crawler case. Very impressive!
Thats a cool Trailer. Made for a fun video!
It was fun... thanks!
Beauty points for the Jeep
Thanks!
This was really neat my friend has an '04 forester with a 4' lift would love to see the results of this test with that see the score!
That would be a fun one to see on the trailer!
@@AutoEdits did your Jk have the sway bar disconnected? I’d think that would be a huge limiting factor on the Subaru.
Looked like a great time, cheers!
It was!
My guess.
1) Suburban
2) JK
3) JT
4) Tacoma
5) K30
Great guess!
@@AutoEdits I was super surprised by the Taco with it’s IFS.
Awsome video jason.. your jeep did awsome. How far is moab from where you live and do you plan on a visit back to moab in June. Reason for asking is my trip is planned to moab in June from the 17th through the 24th would be awsome to meet you and check out your jeep in person...
Moab is an 11 hour drive from me but I like the thought!
@@AutoEdits did not know it was 11hrs thought you was a little closer. Still closer then what my drives going to be. I live in iowa. From my house to where we are staying is 13hrs and 30min lol longest drive I will have so far. My last 2 trips was south dakota and Colorado Springs both about 9hrs. Really can't wait for this moab trip watched sooo many RUclips videos on it just looks like a great place..
Cool set up to check them. Been checking out a lot of you videos in the past week. Question on your DH6 yellow top ? I have been doing research on them and see good things and bad that they don’t last as long as from when they was built in the USA. Years ago. Do you still recommend this battery for my 16 JKUR. Keep up the cool videos I enjoy watching them. Thanks. 👍
Thanks for checking out the videos! I've only had this battery for 3.5 years but have been very happy with the performance so far. A good example is the recent Death Valley trip... had my ARB fridge running all night during camping and the jeep starts every morning without a hesitation.
Right on I’ll go and check that video out thanks a bunch for the fast reply. Cheers 🍻
How would say a 2 dr Rubicon with it's swb be measured compared to all the 4 drs with longer axle to axle centers? Not well I am guessing.
I'm not sure but think travel is completely suspension related and not wheelbase. As long as your wheels fit on the pads... up they go.
Is that suburban too far different than our OBS? Would the torsion beam ruin the flex? Do I need to go straight axle? I’ve been trying to get ahold of WFO to get a quote.
It's pretty different, but you can absolutely build an OBS to match. It's linked up front, and a big long leaf pack just like your OBS in the rear. Call Offroad Design - they've got all the good gear for it.
I'm not sure "to match" means what you think it means... 😂
@@AutoEdits with optional sheetmetal, 40s will flex just fine!
🚜💰😂
@@AutoEdits Hey Jeepin Jason and Willomwet, thanks for the response. So I guess the real question is with all that flex, will the Suburban go where your JK can go?
That suburban though
It is an amazing rig... I love watching on the trails when we ride.
@@AutoEdits does he have a RUclips?
@@theautoanswerman8063 ruclips.net/user/WillometMotorFab
Does anyone know the stock rubicon CTI? WITH Swaybars connected?
Before even watching , jeep hands down
Were you surprised?
@@AutoEdits indeed lol I wasn’t expecting that , still believe more in the jeep to make it somewhere without breaking down or any accidents over any other rig
Since I drive a 2012 JKU my Goal is to hit 910 is what I'm seeing here LOL..........
Bring it on!!!😂
