    My example of a high damage strider pawn: augments and skills.
    Build: Fighter 1 - 10, Strider 11 - 15 Warrior 16 - 200
    This is my PS4 Strider Pawn, Barahir. Not to be confused with my PC Strider Pawn, Barahir--who has a completely different build: Fighter 1 - 11, Warrior 12 - 200
    NOTE: The augment Proficiency had been replaced with IMPACT. This slot is subject to further change for Stability. Testing difference in her overall performance. But so far it doesn't appear that there's any significant change.
    Her inclinations are Challenger/Scather/Utilitarian/Mitigator.
    Music: Out of Sight by Awyr. Licensed through Soundstripe.

    Interesting thanks. Just getting back into this game, played on PS3 but didn’t get all the way through it, it’s has been sat in my PS4 library for months before I fired it up, had forgot how good it was despite its flaws.

    I arrived late? very good video! I really wanted to be able to play with your pawn, I'm doing Dragon's Dogma platinum in 2024, could you give me the ID so I can favorite it!? Please, it would be really cool to play with her, if you read this comment. Great content, anyway, thank you!!!!!!

      If you are on PSN you should be able to find her. Playstion DDDA pawns don’t have pawn ID’s. Only DD2 ones do-excepting Nintendo Switch DDDA pawns, which also have a pawn ID unique to that system.

    New player here.
    What weapons does your Strider have?
    What about Rusted Bow & it inflicting Torpor/Poison?
    Okay to run that as secondary & then the best daggers available, as primary, for damage?

    • @Gemmalady
      @Gemmalady  7 месяцев назад +1

      My Strider is using Darkening Storm shortbow and Framae Blades daggers-both best-in-slot.
      Poison is rather meh but Torpor is pretty good (depending on what you play). Therefore, if you want your Strider (or you) to inflict Torpor, yes definitely keep a Goldforged Rusted Shortbow as an alternate weapon.
      IMO Ranger pawns are far better at inflicting Torpor than Strider pawns-because of the nature of the Strider and the fact that Brainsplitter is so darn powerful. Plus it takes either one Hailstorm Volley or two Fivefold Flurry shots to torpor an enemy by the Strider pawn vs one Tenfold Flurry shot by the Ranger pawn.

      @@Gemmalady I see. Thank you for the information.
      I'm running a sorcerer & with current knowledge of the game 2 Strider pawns & 1 Mage seems to be pretty good (allows me to backline). Might change once I know more of the game. Killing "Bandit Fighters" pretty easily now in hard mode (1st encounter with 2 of them was a big NOPE).

      I'll give some info in return. You might already know this or have no use for this information as you've already done all you need in the game while probably waiting for the next one to release. ALT+TAB is a pain & can crash the game because there is no borderless window option (either windowed or fullscreen). A software called "Windowed Borderless Gaming" turns that windowed mode into borderless windowed mode. ALT+TAB'ing in now smooth as silk.

    • @Gemmalady

      @@LumenPsycho Welcome to Hard Mode, Arisen! There’s a bandit on the way to BlueMoon Tower that I deliberately seek out with REVENGE in my heart ever since I died to him years ago on Hard Mode!
      Torpor is really very powerful so if you want to get that rusted shortbow or even rusted daggers equipped on you (or your pawn) then definitely use it. It’s got to be at least red dragonforged-so keep that in mind for future fights down the line.
      It sounds like you are enjoying your journey so far. I will say this-one of the best things about Dogma is, as you get more powerful, you will know it. Other games have you level up but nothing feels different-here, those bandits that nuked you at first will soon be dust beneath your feet.
      Good luck!

      @@LumenPsycho I am aware of the software but I use an Elgato Streamdeck. I can have many windows open at once and that piece of hardware was a lifesaver-esp since I run dual monitors. Before that I figured out a work around by first putting -Windowed in Steam settings; then reducing the resolution of the game to 640 X 480; moving the game to my preferred monitor; then resetting resolution back to 1920 x 1080. A lot of steps I know but that’s how I got the game into windowed mode, skipped alt + tab. But the Streamdeck was the lifesaver! Inexpensive too!

    another question do rented pawns change vocation as theyh learn when they fight or are they stuck with wht they have

    • @Gemmalady
      @Gemmalady  2 года назад +1

      Rented pawns may change vocations if their owner (the other player or players) changes them up, otherwise they stay the same.
      A pawn that is learning new bestiary/area/quest knowledge while with your party will reflect those updates once you send back the pawn and they rest at an Inn to receive the rent.
      For myself, once my pawn is at their final vocation I don’t change them around to something else because a pawn that is constantly changing vocations doesn’t end up being very good.

  • @badtupram
    @badtupram 2 года назад

    I'm new to this game. After all this time right? lol Anyway, so I should change my pawn's vocation to get some of these augments. We're level 37 right now and max ranked. Good time to do that?

    • @Gemmalady
      @Gemmalady  2 года назад +2

      Are you planning on having your pawn play strider now or later?
      I suggest putting some levels into Warrior for the stat gains in strength. In fact, if you can afford to go Warrior for your pawn to level 100, then switch your pawn to Ranger from 101 - 200, you'll be rewarded with death on two legs. Your pawn will be BEASTLY.
      However there's nothing wrong with having your pawn stick to Strider all the way to level 200.
      If you do, then yes, I suggest getting these augments asap. I listed the vocations that give you the augments Barahir has.
      Welcome to DDDA--always good to see another join in the Hunt!

      @@Gemmalady First off, thanks for the reply and the advice. And thank you for the welcome as well. I really enjoy your content and look forward to more from you.
      To answer your question, my pawn is a strider or was. I'm just now reading this and decided to go on and change her vocation and mine as well so I could get the maximum out of her and me too if I don't suck too bad. lol But now she's a warrior, so I can have clout for her, then we'll change again and she can be a ranger if I need to. Then I think she'll go back to strider again. We've already gained 7 rank since last night on our new vocations. I switched from figther to ranger mytself for the stability augment for when my shield takes a blast from one of the big monsters later in the game.
      Anyway, love the game. I've known about it forever but never gave it a shot. Big Skyrim fan and been playing that off and on for years and just recently decided to try DDDA and wow, I just love it so far. Thanks again.

      There’s an easy afk trick to get vocation for you or your pawn (both if that’s what you want) if you don’t already know.

    • @Gemmalady
      @Gemmalady  2 года назад

      @@donalddonald348 Covered the preferred method in another video right here bit.ly/36WEjNR
      And then there's the other method, which one can do earlier, but is a bit trickier. Basically, the latter method involves going to the Greatwall, making sure it is night time, heading out of the Greatwall area down and to the right (there will be coffins, if I am remembering correctly). A lich will spawn, and it summons waves of skeletons. The tricky part is that you need to make sure none of the pawns have bows or staves--if they kill the lich the party is over.
      From experience this is my least favorite way, as I have seen the pawns target the lich and hit it, effectively taking it out of the fight, since at times, the lich will hover very close to the ground. Yes, I have removed their weapons but sometimes slightly higher level pawns can take the lich down, just like pawns can punch the Hydra in NG+

      @@nlmbgeneral2773 Whatever you do, don’t use a Neutralizing Elixir when re-setting inclinations. I don’t know what vocation you’re playing as but here’s a few tips: Give your pawn items to cure debilitations-such as drenched, caught on fire, hit by leapworms. I give my pawns 12 Clean Cloths, 4 Panacea, and, since you’re going solo, a couple of Font of Constitution(s). Or, you can simply use Sobering Wine, which makes you Impervious to status effects (debilitations). The number 1 cause of Nexus rising so high is when you leave your PAWN debilitated, believe it or not.

    I've read somewhere that you shouldn't teach daggerist pawns the foward roll skill because they spam it non-stop sometimes instead of attacking...Is this true?
    Also what's a good inclination for a strider pawn ?

    • @Gemmalady
      @Gemmalady  11 месяцев назад +2

      What? I’ve never heard or read that about Strider pawns! The only way a pawn might overuse Forward Roll is because their inclinations are all screwed up. The one skill the Strider pawn is known to overuse, despite other skills being the much better call, is Dazzle Blast.
      The forward roll (aka Dodge Roll) does offer i-frames, so when the pawn does use it, they’re most likely using it as an evasive maneuver to avoid projectiles, getting hit by enemy jump attacks, and similar reasons.
      I have 4 strider pawns and while I have seen them use the Forward Roll aka Dodge Roll I’ve never seen them spam it.
      I set all my Strider pawns as Challenger/Scather/Utilitarian/Mitigator and I only give them 4 skills.
      I do NOT give them the Daggerist band, rather I give them the Strider’s Band in order to encourage the use of Brainsplitter/Hailstorm Volley. Both are high damage/dps skills.
