I can’t remember birthdays or anniversaries or what days I am supposed to work but I distinctly remember back in 1990 my vehicle got stuck in the mud. While I tried to get it unstuck, my Danger Danger cassette fell out the door into the mud. I tried to clean it to no avail. That was the end of my Danger Danger tape. I moved on with my life. Now you have reminded me how much I love this song!!
The simplicity, power and emotion of these songs of this genre are what makes them so great. Awesome cover and you have nailed Timmons' tone and solo here.
Great song - Timmons didn't play on it though - it was Tony Rey. He recorded the album then left to join Saraya. I think Andy only played one or two solos on the whole album.Andy did play all the guitars on Screw It though.
@@daviddonaldson5908 You are correct! I've been a D2 fan for 30 years and I consider myself a guy who normally knows "nuggets" of info like that. Not quite sure how I missed it all this time...you got it right, Andy played on 2 tracks. And I love Tony too, his work with Saraya was awesome, especially on When the Blackbird Sings. Both guys are brilliant players.
Always loved that band and that song. People often don't respect the talent that it takes to put this kind of music together. Great cover. Always enjoy seeing new videos from you in my feed.
Cheers Jason! Yeah I think the image of the era maybe gets the most attention and gets a lot of criticism for some bands taking it to excess. Which is understandable but I think this was the last time when it was 'cool' to strive for having the best musicianship and production in your music.
I used to work for Morley in the early 90s and our engineer (and a fine guitar player) went to NAMM. He came back and told me he saw the best player he'd ever seen in his life. He said the guy started playing at a booth and people walked away from Satriani, Vai and a few other major stars. I asked him who and he told me Andy Timmons from Danger Danger. I literally laughed in his face. Talk about a guy flying under the radar. If you want a real challenge, take a crack at Super 70s. That thing is unbelievable. I have no problem admitting it's well beyond my skills. BTW, I LOVE his pickups. If you're looking for a quality single coil, those are as good as anything I've heard.
What I love about your covers is that they sound like modernized versions of the originals, but with just a slight original spin. Yet, those original little twists work perfectly within the original version. It’s those small details that I love.
This is almost exactly the same guitar tone as the tone on Debbie Harry's 'Rush Rush' and a lot of other tunes from the Scarface soundtrack. You've nailed that 80's distorted guitar production sound.
Enjoyed your version better than the original where the guitar is lower in the mix, while in yours it is more prominent showcasing some of the details that one might miss with the original mix. Thanks.
Hell yes! Flawless musical workmanship. And what a great song. The chorus is ridiculous of corse but that's an art initself: being able to sing "bang bang, what's that sound, I gave you my love and you shot me down" with a straight face. Ted Poley FTW. Great cover anyway. Pure joy to watch a true musician at work.
Amazing cover. This album totally kicks ass, Both Andy Timmons and Tony Bruno did some spectacular guitar work on it. and this song is one of the highlights for me. This cover could almost pass off as a Leppardized cover in certain spots. But it's still a fantastic song on it's own right.
Oh my god that's REALLY good, you really know how to play. I've had Bang Bang stuck in my head now for almost a month, it's such an ear worm. I was 10 when it came out, by the way (so old).
Awesome!! You never disappoint, Ben! Hey, if you're ever down for it, would love to see your cover and personal improvisational stamp on a couple of late-'80s Ace Frehley tracks from his Trouble Walking record: Hide Your Heart and his re-make of the old ELO track, Do Ya. Both feature some decent riffs, and both leave room for some leppardized mind-f*** under-currents (or over-currents, whatever). Just thinking out loud here...
Great job, as always! I've been a Danger Danger fan for years and I'm glad to see you take on some of their stuff. Andy Timmons is a great guitar player and their current guitarist, Rob Marcello is also quite good. I think their most recent album, Revolve, has some good stuff on it, too if you ever want to check that out. Thanks for the new video!
Nice. I saw your Afraid of Love cover and looked to see if you did this too! I'm pretty in to 80's stuff. Would be cool to hear you play some Ratt or Cinderella if you're into them. Well done on your covers. They're great!
Are you in a band? If not you really need to be. You play these songs every one of them so perfectly. Please tell me you are in a band. You are simply amazing. Love watching your effortless playing! 😅
Thanks John! Currently, no, but I am playing for a couple of bands, like in a session guitarist kinda way, filling in when they need a lead guitarist, but more for Wedding type gigs. I hope to continue with my own music soon.
@@bwm5150 wow. Well theres gotta be a band that needs you. You're more talented than guy that are actually in bands! It's crazy how good you are. I hope you can turn this into a lucrative career because that kinda talent doesn't come along everyday.. if you put out any other material other than RUclips. Like in a band I need to hear it, please let me know where else to find you. That type of music is right up my alley. I love 80s music. Congrats!
Ratt. Dokken. More Whitesnake. Let's see... who else? Tesla. I'm trying to think of all the bands we went to see when we were kids. Judas Priest, of course. Queensryche. Sykes is still my favorite, though. That 1987 Whitesnake album was and is the shit. Journey I saw live in 1983, Frontiers, with Bryan Adams as an opener. Man, the 80s were a great time for music.
So many great bands..heres some more...magnum,saxon,shy,fifth angel,scorpions,trixter,damn yankees,triumph,bonfire,giant,baton rouge,forehouse,night ranger,honeymoon suite,fastway,dirty looks,dio,maiden,priest,21 guns,kingdom come,badlands,slaughter,zeno, my favorite (Survivor) and theres hundreds more

80s is the best era ....
Great Job, bro
Thanks bro!
I believe this came out in ‘91 but the glam metal is 🤩
@@gunkanjima3408 You could listen to it if you bought/lent their LP in '89, but it wasn't released as a single until the year after.

I still love the 80's music and that's one of my favorite songs. You did an awesome job of playing that song. You rocked that guitar and that song.
The most underrated bands of the 80’s. This is great stuff yo!!!!
please do a cover of "Don't walk away" and "Rock America" Well done!
That's a possibility. :)
Very well done! Can you do Under The Gun and Turn It On as well, please?
Great guitar playing to a great song!👍👍👍
Def Leppard, Danger Danger, Bryan Adams.... I get the connection and I love em all. Beautiful
Another great cover Ben, setting up my new H&K Grandmeister 36 and Celestion Vintage 30 Cab to learn this now, love the track
There was some good tunes on this album. This is better than most stuff done today by far to me.
Thanks that once again you introduce me to another great song! Can't wait for the next covers from your "Obligatory 80's Metal Cover" series. Cheers!
Cheers! I hope to do some more 'Obligatory' vids and also some more obscure AOR stuff! :)

Danger Danger never disappoints live... Been lucky enough to see them twice at the M3 festival
Please more 80s
The majority of my vids are 80's and that's not likely to change too much. :)
Ohhh i see all of your live videos Slyder! THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THESE!

Virtuoso performance, as usual. You are a revelation.
Rob Marcello from Danger Danger. Very good player. Good job.
