I'm a new user to sketch up. This is my very first introduction to the program. Your tutorial style is simple and makes it easy to understand and follow. Can't wait to continue with next videos. Thank you.
I am new to sketch up and I stumbled over this video.. Every min was worth it because I learnt new stuffs. Great one. Moving on to pert two. Thank you!
Thank you. I've made several attempts at Sketchup over the years. Your channel has helped immensely! I can now at least get my hand sketches reproduced in Sketchup!
I am not new to SketchUp but, I learned some things from you in this tutorial that I never knew. Wow, your tutorials are some of the most thorough tutorials that I have ever encountered on the whole internet! Thank you for your efforts. I didn't know about the blue, green and red rectangles and that they correspond to the axes which are perpendicular to them.
i been watching many videos without learning anythings ... but once i found your channel sketchup has become very easy and clear for me ... thank you so much for all the details and the precious informations you are giving to us
I've been messing around with sketch up for a couple of years now so I'm some what familiar with basic functions. I was going to skip this video and I'm glad I didn't. Already learned the Push/pull tool can also remove items in the first video! Super helpful, Thanks Justin.
Thank you! I need to create a "site plan" for rainwater harvesting purposes, and am trying to use SketchUp to create a map of my land showing buildings, contour lines, trees, sun paths, wind paths, shadows... and this is very helpful in getting me started in learning SketchUp. Your style works really well for me. Looking forward to your other videos in this series!
Great video. One thing I expected to see in this video was using the space bar to quit whatever the current tool is and return to the normal selection cursor. Every other design software I've used does this with the ESC key. SketchUp is just a little different.
Totally new to Sketchup, good so far. Clearly I need lots of practice. Have not started to play with it yet, other than when i first signed up for the freebe and quickly got lost, realized I needed some basic help. Not yet sure about erasing things, the totorial makes it sound easy, a one click thing, but in my first, abouted attempt with the program it seemed more difficult.
I think that doing a series exclusively on Sketch Up Make would be much less distracting for us newbies with out dropping in references to an application that many of us do not have, can not afford, and probably would never become skillful enough to benefit from investing in... Your way of communicating is very good.
I'm not really 100% sure what you're getting at - was there something specific in this video that you found distracting that made it difficult to work in SketchUp Make?
great tutorial! - only wish you included all the keyboard shortcuts for the tools used. Your tutorial is better than the actual sketchup made tutorials
Big thanks for the video. I was about to design a custom bookshelf for my bedroom and I needed a simple introduction to 3D modelling. After watching this 15 min video I feel that I'm already on the roll... :)
Thank you for this. It's very detailed and easy to understand. PLease continue making videos like this where even for us newbies we can easily understand. SUper appreciate!
An excellent tutorial. I'm brand new to SketchUp 2019 Pro and found this really useful and delivered at a level that was easy to follow. Looking forward to watching some of your other videos. Thanks for putting these together.
Thank you for this intro. I found it well paced and very helpful. It was not dumbed down too far, now was it a mind blowing rant... good balance! See you on your next one(s).
Thank you for these helpful tutorials. For beginners you might want to add the change in units. More than 95% of the world population in calculating in metres, kilograms and Celsius. No idea why a program which is world wide available has imperial units as default value.
Are you asking how to change units? Here - ruclips.net/video/TNgUhccsHYs/видео.html . And SketchUp is in Imperial Units because SketchUp is based on the USA, same as a program that was based in another country would likely be in their units
Good job Justin! I will be gone for about two weeks but I will try to follow you on RUclips. No new work from me during this period. I did start a new project, my biggest so far so I am looking forward to that when I get back. Greetzzz from the Netherlands.
Hey Man I am trying to get into using sketchup so I can make some plans for doing some very basic woodworking. I have been wanting to learn how to do the very basics for ages and this video has been brilliant. Thanks for sharing and I am now subscribed.
I have 2019 Pro, and the arc command for me was a three point command, whereas you did it in two. I also found the arc on the corner to initially not allow me to extrude the void only the positive extension. It took several tries to get an arc drawn that would allow me to extrude the void. Overall, really helpful tutorial!
Patrick Flynn you need to click arc a 3rd time as I also couldn’t duplicate it until I clicked it a 2nd and 3rd time at same end position to create arc.
@@Thesketchupessentials can we sign up in the sketch up ?? I am asking this question because I have cracked file of sketch up 🙄, I need to download furniture from 3d warehouse but it is asking for sign in , what to do ?? Please tell me
awesome, this tutorial is just what I needed for 150 year old Kominka renewal project! Thanks very much

Hi Dan - what was your issue with erasing things? Were you using the erase tool, or just selecting individual objects and hitting the delete key?
