i think the closest thing i have to a problem with stardew valley is that it was really hard for me to get into while thinking of it as a cozy game i started and stopped a few times between 2 different platforms, but always got overwhelmed managing all the different game elements when 1.6 dropped, i tried it again with more of an optimization mindset instead. couldn't put the game down for weeks and i'm still going for platinum. stardew is now easily one of my top video games in general!
I’m pretty sure the Egg Hunt egg layouts change every year now with the 1.6 update, which might be why Abigail keeps winning - you can no longer rely on a trusty route you’ve memorised! ☺️
It's a small nitpick but I wish the run speed was just... a little faster. I don't want to constantly be chugging coffees just to get around the map faster. Like, maybe they could've added a shoe item that gives you a faster run speed? But it has poor defense so you'd have to choose between extra defense or extra speed when doing mine runs.
@@Dragoniangirlget coffee/triple shot espresso and a horse. Feed the horse carrots each day if you want to go even faster. With these tips I feel like I’m going too fast sometimes.
I solved all my complaints with SDV by playing on the PC and modding it to my liking, suck it fishing mini game. UI Info Suite 2, Automate, and Skull Cavern Elevator are also must haves. I can’t deal with the caverns normally, it just makes the game unfun for me, some people like the challenge; I only the other hand have enough of a challenge staying alive long enough to collect my ore and leave.
I find Stardew extremely stressful. I know it's supposed to be cozy but my end goal is...well perfection? Also having a pretty looking farm. But perfection means grind. You need to remember everything and do everything to reach it and it is simply too much.
Thing I find annoying about SV is how it feels you gotta do the same thing over and over and over & how much time it takes to record all the info of villagers. The whole wiki is just available but then that feels like it’s defeating the point. Plus I can tell it feels like a 8 year old game
The game does feel a little dated and hasn’t had the biggest updates but after looking at other old games ie Minecraft and terraria they have a big team working on them, while stardew has only one main dev that’s also working on a new game
That's why I enjoy playing with expansion mods, so it keeps the game more interesting for me. It keeps me coming back to stardew valley and personally it increases the longevity.
You shouldn’t be running around holding a bomb. That’s completely on you. What about mobile players? The bomb button would be hard to press if you’re pressing the others a lot. That would make skull cavern diving even harder on mobile.
I loved this video! I've got 1000s of hours invested in Stardew, and yeah, I often rant at my screen over something or other - but who doesn't have those moments?? LOL!! Thanks for the smiles Kora!!
Did ConcernedApe ever patch the issue with having client side mods and it crashing the game of your fellow players ? It's an issue that's like new to the game (only started in this update) but it does bum me out because i can't use portraiture as a result unless my companion players ALSO have portraiture and are ALSO running Stardew through the modded client 😔
This video was a nice break from your string of "this is my latest rant about why ACNH sucks" or some version of Nintendo giving up on it. I think it's safe to say Stardew got a HUGE chunk of new players thanks to that game. I'm certainly one of them. Last year I was played it nearly nonstop until maybe May or June, once I finally got a hang of the mechanics. I'm up to Skull Cavern progress (I've gotten better with more practice which feels great) and some Qi (I pronounce it like "key" cuz that's how my fav. Stardew RUclipsr says it) quests, although some of them are crazy difficult so I've only succeeded doing maybe 3-4 of them. Even to get the horse flute and maybe one other upgrade I'm forgeting, lol
I love stardew... but (hot take)... for ME its not cozy. at least for me, cozy games are about taking me out of reality, and focusing on something that isnt just work. My favorite cozy games are "A short hike" and "Garden Story" because they immerse me and put me in a chill enviroment i can just do whatever in. no pressure to be efficient, etc. stardew feels less about immersive gameplay and more like a grind. (nothing wrong with this. and i love stardew, but FOR ME... its not cozy)
One of the only REAL problems I have with stardew is that the friendship mechanic is too dull and most characters are cookie cutter steriotypes and boring :( I wish they were a bit 'weirder' or something, nothing crazy, just enough to make them more interesting and make me wanna talk to them insted of being a chore... Like for example, Shane is all grumpy and sad , but then he warms up to you and you discover he's really sweet with chickens! Which's kinda surprising at first since he doesnt seem like a kind person, but then if makes sence considering he lives with marnie! But no, alex is a cookie cutter jock, haley is a cookie cutter 'popular mean girl' , Jodi and caroline are almost the same mom character ,ETC... (maybe make haley be really into horror movies or 'abi likes knitting but she's kinda embarressed to admit, the rock eating is already amazing hahahah) I wish concerned ape had done something to fix this but it must be hard adding new dialogue without changing their original personalities (or lack of) too much and being inconsistent. Like in undertale, I wanna talk to sans EVERY opportunity I get because he's unpredictable and weird !
I was playing the other day (on 1.5) and I had a surprise interaction with Haley, she asked me what she should do for the day and Waterpainting was an option. She seemed to enjoy me picking that answer. I knew she was into photography but not that she was into multiple art forms

Think to play SV u got to have some sort of plan and have a bit of a functioning brain 😂 if you don't enjoy the vanilla version you can just install over a thousand mods to make it the way u want 😂

Why would you try to record villager info? How does using the wiki ‘defeat the point’?
My biggest annoyance in Stardew Valley is the dragon mobs in the skull cavern. They take SO MUCH health and they come out of nowhere sometimes.
Hold bait while checking crab pots. It reloads the bait and keeps you from picking them up.

it’s supposed to look like that. It’s an aesthetic style.
If stardew was good it would be a button that says I win when I press it instead of a game I have to try at and care about
Huh? That’s what a good game is for you? You would spend 20$ for a game that says you win when you press a button?
The reverence people have for a game that literally required a mod just to have some BIPOC is weird.
