Hi! Nice to hear from you again! Thank you for watching my videos! Yes, I agree with you. I have tried having breakfast in several Japanese hotel chains already, and I must say, the quality of the breakfast in Dormy Inn hotels stand out. My favorite so far is the breakfast at Dormy Inn Premium Ginza. So worth it! :)

Thanks for this video. Is summer expensive or are hotel prices increasing for any times now?

Hi Shawn! Nice to hear from you again! I hope you are doing well. And thank you for watching one of my videos again. With regards to your query, summer is actually a lean season when it comes to tourists visiting Japan, so hotel rates should ideally be slightly lower during summer. That being said though, and considering the drop of Japanese yen against USD, yes, hotel rates seem to be increasing. Gone are the days when you can easily find $70 rooms in good areas. I guess the demand plays a big factor too, with the recent influx of tourists. But yeah, if you are basing it on the value of USD these days vs JPY, things can still be really cheap in Japan.

@@wheretonext1190 Thank you! And I hope you are doing well. I like your videos but I hope the over tourism passes and the yen gets better for Japan. I am concerned about life for the Japanese. Best to you always.

Thank you so much Shawn for the very kind words. Yes, I am doing well and I am happy to know that you like my videos. And I also agree with you with the over tourism. I guess this is still a post-pandemic effect where tourists are still trying to make up for the lost travel time during covid. But it is heartwarming to hear about your concern for the Japanese. I wish you the best as well. :)

Hi Axios! Nice to hear from you again! I hope you are doing well! Thank you for watching my video again and for giving such positive feedback! With regards to finding an $82 room, I remember staying there on a Monday night which is probably why the rate was slightly cheaper. As you know, room rates really vary depending on the day you are staying. Weekend rates can be very expensive, sometimes even more than double the normal rate. Reading your comment, I tried to randomly check the room rates of this hotel via Agoda and I found $85 rooms for 30-31July and 5-6Aug. For 14-15Aug, I found an $89 room. I guess it pretty much depends on luck as well, wishing that your travel dates fall on weekdays with lower rates. It also helps to book way ahead while rates are still relatively low and just choose one with a free cancellation option so that you can just easily cancel if and when you find a better option. Hope this helps Axios! Thanks again! :)
