      Hi Ely! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, unfortunately no, they don't have fees for other services like extra luggage. But if you want, you can try and explain your case at the ticket counter and maybe, just maybe, they could allow you to have 2 bags stored under the bus, especially if the bus is not full. I have heard cases like that where they were kind enough to accommodate such requests, and so you might probably be able to do that as well. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Have fun in Japan! :)

      Hi Shawn! Nice to hear from you again! I hope you are doing well. And thank you for watching one of my videos again. With regards to your query, summer is actually a lean season when it comes to tourists visiting Japan, so hotel rates should ideally be slightly lower during summer. That being said though, and considering the drop of Japanese yen against USD, yes, hotel rates seem to be increasing. Gone are the days when you can easily find $70 rooms in good areas. I guess the demand plays a big factor too, with the recent influx of tourists. But yeah, if you are basing it on the value of USD these days vs JPY, things can still be really cheap in Japan.

      @@wheretonext1190 Thank you! And I hope you are doing well. I like your videos but I hope the over tourism passes and the yen gets better for Japan. I am concerned about life for the Japanese. Best to you always.

      Thank you so much Shawn for the very kind words. Yes, I am doing well and I am happy to know that you like my videos. And I also agree with you with the over tourism. I guess this is still a post-pandemic effect where tourists are still trying to make up for the lost travel time during covid. But it is heartwarming to hear about your concern for the Japanese. I wish you the best as well. :)

      @wheretonext1190 5 дней назад

      Hi Axios! Nice to hear from you again! I hope you are doing well! Thank you for watching my video again and for giving such positive feedback! With regards to finding an $82 room, I remember staying there on a Monday night which is probably why the rate was slightly cheaper. As you know, room rates really vary depending on the day you are staying. Weekend rates can be very expensive, sometimes even more than double the normal rate. Reading your comment, I tried to randomly check the room rates of this hotel via Agoda and I found $85 rooms for 30-31July and 5-6Aug. For 14-15Aug, I found an $89 room. I guess it pretty much depends on luck as well, wishing that your travel dates fall on weekdays with lower rates. It also helps to book way ahead while rates are still relatively low and just choose one with a free cancellation option so that you can just easily cancel if and when you find a better option. Hope this helps Axios! Thanks again! :)

      @wheretonext1190 7 дней назад

      Hi Linda! Thank you for watching my video and for appreciating my work! I am happy to know that my video is helping you plan your trip to Tokyo. With regards to your query, for Japanese onsens or hot springs, you cannot actually wear anything. Japanese onsens are enjoyed naked. Swimsuits or underwear are not allowed. There are separate facilities for men and women if this helps. They also have lockers to store your clothes. If you feel conscious, especially for first-timers, you may cover yourself with the small onsen towel provided, before entering the water. Just place the small towel nearby so that when you get out of the water, you can still cover yourself if you still feel conscious. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! I hope you are enjoying your day! :)

      Hi again RJ! The airport limousine buses from Narita airport actually have several routes. It all depends on your final destination in Shinjuku. For limousine buses going to the Kabukicho area, the last bus departs Narita Airport Terminal 3 at 7:30pm. However, if your final destination is another area in Shinjuku, you can still take the limousine bus which runs up to 10:55pm. Here is the link of the timetable for your easy reference. Whats that thing about no tattoos in the spa?

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190 9 дней назад

      Hi! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, most onsens or public baths in Japan do now allow people with tattoos. The Japanese taboo toward tattoos stems from their association with members of Japanese organized crime. Gangsters in Japan are typically heavily tattooed and so this is the reason why the Japanese, mostly the older ones, do not want to be "associated" with tattooed guests. But in the recent years, more and more public baths are already allowing tattooed guests to use their onsen. For those with smaller tattoos, some even cover them with bandage strips so as not to attract attention. But yes, if you have bigger tattoos and want to use the public baths, you can just probably search for public baths or private hotels which allow tattooed guests. Or better yet, if you have the extra budget, there are also hotel rooms and Japanese inns (ryokan) with private hot spring baths. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! I hope you are enjoying your day! :)

    I stayed at a couple of APA hotels on my first trip to Japan. I knew they were going to be small, but it's hard to imagine how small until you are in the room. The bathroom is as tight as an airplane lavatory. Since then, I pay a few more dollars to stay in a larger, more upscale room. Like most hotels in Japan, the rooms are clean, quiet, and safe so if you're not claustrophobic and on a budget, then you may find this chain acceptable. The Gracery Hotel, in the background walking on the street in the beginning at 1:30, is the tall building with blue horizontal lighting, and the Godzilla statue on the 8th floor is much more upscale. The bed area is fairly small, but the bathrooms are very spacious which makes the room seem a lot larger. The location is really nice, in the heart of Kabukicho, just steps from the food court and entertainment areas at the new Kabuchiko Tower which is very new, the Toho movie theaters on the first few floors of the Gracery Hotel building, and too many restaurants to count.

      Hi! Thank you so much for watching my video and for giving such valuable insights! I really appreciate it! I am sure other travellers would find your feedback very useful too! Yes, I agree with you. Most rooms in budget business hotels in Japan are really small where even opening a big luggage would be a challenge. But yeah, as you said, it is still a good option for those travelling on a budget. The location is really nice especially if you want to be in the center of Shinjuku's happening place. There are a lot of food options and many shops to explore too. And as you said, there are other hotel options in the area which are more spacious and would be suited for travellers who have a bigger budget. Hi Jean! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, we were at Shibuya Sky then a bit early, I think around 3pm, because that was the only time slot available closest to the sunset, when we booked our tickets. Usually, people want to be there before sunset to see the beautiful Tokyo skyline in the evening. Tickets for those time slots are the first to be sold out though, and so if you also want to see the sunset and want to come late afternoon, you need to book your tickets online much, much earlier. Otherwise, you can also book an earlier slot like what we did, when there were also less people still, and then just wait there until sunset, when more people begin to arrive. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! I hope you are enjoying your day! :)

    Novotel early 2023, check-in lil slow, suggested may have to wait for room, but ok, room not well finished, needs paint, stains on wall, a/c stuck on 20C, cold when off. Breakfast really good, many choices good taste, baked goods so so. Tissue and toilet paper sub par, both fall apart when wet. No carpet on floor 13 hall, so noisy talk and door closing. The 4 lifts are nice and available. Great bed, big pillows, 55 tv with all channels. Siam BTS is super crowded these days. We liked our multiple prior visits a bit more, did not return in 2024.

      Hi Amichi! Thank you for watching my video and for sharing your insights on Novotel! Yes, I agree with you! The hotel needs some improvement in certain areas. It is a very old hotel after all, and although it was already renovated, some areas still need improvement. I think its best asset is its location. It is very close to Siam BTS station, Siam Center and Siam Paragon. Even CentralWorld is just a short walk away. I have a few more videos on Bangkok hotels in the coming weeks, so in case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel so that you don't miss them. Thanks again! Thanks for this video . We will be in Japan next week. Can you tell me if it is OK to stay in Tokyo Bay Area and commute every day to Tokyo touristy spots. Will be there three nights and five nights in Osaka.

    • @wheretonext1190
      @wheretonext1190 20 дней назад

      Hi Sheela! Thank you for watching my video and for appreciating my work! With regards to your query, it actually depends on your itinerary in Tokyo and which tourist spots you plan to visit. Personally, I would want my hotel to be in the area where I plan to visit the most tourist spots. That way, I can maximize the 3-4 days I have in Tokyo. But if you really have to stay in the Tokyo Bay area, of course it is still ok with the efficient train and bus systems of Tokyo. Just be aware that travel time from the Tokyo Bay area to the usual Tokyo tourist spots may take about an hour or more, depending on where you want to go. In a sense, that would take a bit of time from your 3-4 days, which could translate to lesser time to see the tourist spots. In any case, I am sure it would still work out if you have planned your itinerary well. I hope I was able to answer your query and help you in my own small way. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your trip to Japan! :)

      Hi Jin Yoon! Thank you for watching my video and for appreciating my work! With regards to your query, Japan is generally a very safe place so you can walk around without worrying. For this particular neighborhood, yes, there are drinking spots near the capsule hotel but I think it is still safe to walk even in the evening. If it would help you feel safer, you can just probably walk at the other side of the street, opposite the drinking spots. I hope I was able to answer your query. @wheretonext1190 23 дня назад

      Hi Krizm! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, technically, the room in this video is ok for 2 adults and 1 toddler in terms of size. However, please note that most hotels in Japan are quite strict when it comes to the number of registered guests. Per checking, this hotel considers a toddler as a third person already, and so the hotel might not allow the three of you to stay in a twin room that is only good for 2 persons. To be safe, I suggest looking for a hotel with a triple room that would allow 3 persons. I hope I was able to answer your query. Hi! Thank you for watching my video and for appreciating my work! With regards to your feedback, I intentionally indicate that amenities are free for hotel guests because I receive several queries in my other hotel videos asking if the amenities are all free or if they need to pay for some of them. I think indicating such details in my videos right away saves time both for those types of viewers, and for me as well. I noticed that a big percentage of my viewers are first-time visitors to Japan and so I guess they are not used to having amenities available at the lobby instead of having them inside the rooms. Hi again! I hope you are doing well! With regards to your query, I am not sure if you meant luggage storage inside the trains or in the airport. But as for luggage storage inside the trains, all cars of the μSKY Limited Express Trains have spaces for luggage storage. As soon as you enter your assigned car, you will immediately see it. For this particular video, you may check it at 5:48. As for luggage storage inside the Nagoya airport, you will find lockers when you exit the Customs area. Just walk towards the end of the hallway and you will find some lockers there. You will also find some lockers at the Access Area where both Terminals 1 and 2 meet. Hope the above information helps! :)

      Hi Alex! Thank you for watching my video! Yes, I agree with you! Their rooms are really quite small, similar to the usual room sizes of business hotels in Japan, and you get to pay more simply because it is located in the middle of Kabukicho, which is arguably the center of Shinjuku's nightlife. Add to that is if you are staying during the peak season, and on a weekend, where the room prices even increase to double or even almost triple the normal price. I guess their selling point is mainly its location. Some tourists prefer to be in the center of all the happening, so they still choose hotels like this. But yeah, thank you so much for sharing your experience. This would definitely benefit those who are still deciding on whether to stay in this hotel or not.
