How long did everything took for you to be done at the airport? I may be traveling with an elder. Do you recommend spending a hotel near Kansai airport if the flight arrives at 6:45 pm to get a well rest after a 9+ hrs of flight, then travel to Dotonburi in the morning?

With regards to your query, depending on the queue at the immigration and the time it takes for you to get your luggage at the baggage carousel, I would probably allot an hour or so for everything. If you are arriving at 6:45pm, I think you should be done by 7:30pm or 8pm at most. If you cannot make it to the limousine buses, you can always take the Rapi:t trains from Kansai airport to Nankai Namba station. Travel time is just 40 to 45mins so you should be in Namba/Dotonbori by 9pm. Trains run regularly and the last train departs Kansai airport at 11:55pm. Depending on where your hotel is, I think it would still be an easy walk even if you are with an elderly. You can even choose to just take a taxi from Nankai Namba station to your hotel if you really feel tired already. I think this is a better option than getting another hotel near Kansai airport because travel time is just 40mins anyway. They do not allow buying tickets days or even a day in advance. Please keep in mind though that the seats are on a first-come, first-served basis, and so you still have to fall in line if you have a preference in the seats. Also, there is no time in the bus ticket. So essentially, you can buy the tickets in the morning and use them for any trip within the day. I hope I was able to answer your query.
