- Is the Silver Singles dating app a good way for women over the age of 50 to find men? In three months I've tried reaching out to men and had only a few reach out to me. It's been a bust. I've met no one through this app.

I agree with you. You may or may not find a someone to date on a dating site. It seems like in reality they are a platform for scammers to find us.

You're right about dating sites; They can work OK and I've had success, but mostly they suck! Real-Time meets are ideal, I've been telling this to folks for years! Track-down old friends from your youth, school mates etc. Also hot folks you once worked with and just anyone who you find attractive. And of course always try to meet new people out there at the grocery store or wherever.. I think the problem with dating sites is that they are just total strangers where the sites are always peppered with phonies and scammers looking for Sex and/or to Rob you somehow!
Oh, I'm working all the avenues possible. Of course, it's even harder in a pandemic.
The administrations of the SilverSingles site do not VET their participants WELL AT ALL!

Im 51 and if I end up single I'm staying that way. The good thing is I have finally reached the age where it helps to look younger. I looked like Maculgy Culkin clear until I was 30 . Now I look like a Midwest Jason Stathom. Women are still only looking for Axle Rose , Tupac Shakur and Christian Grey.

I'm almost 50 and I think you're right about doing things you like. If I do it again, I'd be doing both- enjoying myself and casually using dating sites.
You are really pretty and youthful looking. I kind of disagree on it being for the youngsters because of the visual nature. Only because most people make an initial assessment, whether it's in person or online. I do think younger people are a lot more comfortable with having a zillion photos taken of them and we don't come from that world. I get the part of things going better face to face.
I made sure and put a full body pic or two because I'm a wheelchair user. Doesn't mean they will necessarily look over the whole profile! Haha some people are in a rush. Thanks for sharing your experience. I swear, they've got every us citizen over 50 in a scammer database. That's something that's gotten so out of hand that if I tried it again I might get fed up with that part because those people are wasting your actual time. So outrageous.

Everything you said about Silver Singles is spot on. I have only been on Silver Singles for ONE WEEK and already been sent 3 messages from scammers trying to fix me up with their friend before they delete their account. Same scam, 3 different names, 3 tries. And yes, the caring loving people that run SS have reached out to me to warn me of the obvious just in case I was dropped on my head as a child and need help thinking. Everything you talk about in your 4 part series is TRUE! That tells me that the good folks running this crap know and don’t care one bit.

I absolutely believe the people who own all the over 50 dating apps know how little people successfully find dates and they don’t care. The dating app model has earned millions (billions?) from young people, so why not use the same thing for the middle aged even though there’s little chance it’ll work the same for us? And thanks for asking, but no, I’ve had no luck meeting anyone as a result of posting these videos. That would have been funny though.
@@reginarodriguez-martin4928 , Agreed @ dating apps are scams. The majority of males think "Sex" is fun. I think dancing is fun and sex is for COUPLES. Courtship is not an option. I don't like the prompts and protocol for "online" dating: seeking pics for their soft porn sessions.

Really like this post. Someone suggested dating sites, but they are 30 (young). I've spent money on different sites and nada. I agree, photos are not going to do it. If we had videos like this one, there would be a better chance.
Exactly!, Rigina, it doesn't just apply to middle age, or people over the age of 50 and above only , finding love or partner over dating app has completely been messed up in all. Talking about tinder and other apps for youths completely a waste , because fake profiles and scammers are actually doing the same subscription waiting on those sites for their victims

For someone like me, I cant afford that monthly subscription on those sites which immediately prevents me from these fraudsters, but that's not the point, the point is that, they know if you are not a scam and you are able to get on the site then you are legit and would want to prey on you immediately.

I just had a friend that is 60, just met a woman over 60 on Match. They have been dating for a couple of months.
This video includes a passing criticism of the program ScreenFlow. It's a good program for making videos, but be warned that after paying almost $200, you will also have to pay for periodic upgrades that might cost $49 or more. If you don't purchase the upgrade, your videos will export with a watermark on them making them unusable!

Attractive people in their 50s-60s will still do well. You can ask men who are in their 20s but are short and balding and they will tell you that they aren't getting matches. It's not an age thing - it's about how attractive you are.
It's a scam- bots msg you to go to a website or email- always wanting money an more money then when u try to cancel u cant- Dad always told us if you wanna find a good girl you'll find her in church not the bar- same with guys- if not go to a different church
I think the other problem is men over 50 all want a younger woman so they are on the apps looking for women half their age! You are adorable so I don't know why guys wouldn't want to meet you! I've come to the conclusion we women over 50 need to create our own community to live/work together in some sort of co-op living.

Susan, the intelligent men over 50 don't want anything to do with younger women (maybe a night of fun & done). We are at an age where times have changed drastically and the younger men and women are so different in their mindset, maturity and opinions that we can hardly tolerate much difference in age. The absolute worst case is to make the mistake of 10 year younger mate that was raised in a completely different region of the Country. Not only a different generation but different way of thinking, it was a damn nightmare !

I agree with a lot of this. I have noticed I constantly get matched with guys who look like Santa Claus.
One one hand, I agree with you that some seniors don't want to date people that look like seniors (in particular, from watching my STBXW only like the hottest, youngest-looking guys on the dating apps she's on). But I also disagree in that I personally find I like dating 50+ women who actually look like they might be over 50. Regina, I'm not saying you look "over 50" but I do wish you were close to me and liked me on Bumble because I'd totally like you back; you're cute as heck.

Thank you for taking the time to document your journey on Silver Singles. Of course, I want you to live happily ever after with a loving man. If you want to ignore White/Christian men you have eliminated about 85% of all men. If you want a Hispanic male who listens/watches NPR/PBS you are looking for a 1%er. A fifty year old Hispanic male can attract a 20-30 old Hispanic woman because he has a mature man's resources. Not putting up a full length picture of yourself even if you aren't perfect, eliminates most interested males. Best of luck finding the right guy.

I got an online date. It was April 1st!
I disagree with the lady about online dating as I believe it can work for the older generation.The main thing is to do due diligence,make sure you are not talking to a scammer by having some video calls,and if you both feel there might be a connection arrange to meet up asap.Even in a small country like the UK possible matches can be a long way away so in a huge country like the US matches may be several states and hundreds or even thousands of miles away.
As regards attractiveness plenty of guys would find her attractive with a good personality and I think the slight touch of gray in her hair makes her look so real!

From a 68 y/o man's perspective, if it's clear you don't take care of yourself and look like that at 55 you won't be getting matches or interest. Men are visual and can see if a woman has health problems, first of all overweight. This tells us that there are bigger and bigger problems very quickly down the road, could be laziness. If that is your choice just get a couple of cats.
Guys who take care of themseleves do that not just for vanity but because we are relied on as providers/protectors, the ones who make you feel safe, and maintain their status among other men. Men will deal with problems not brought on by behavior but understand that the behavior of women who don't take care of themselves manifests in many other ways, they will be more trouble than benefit to us.

I canceled my subscription.after 4 months ,no pics of the person when they send you your matches for that day.And yes I almost got scammed ,but they caught them.There are a lot of fAke profiles on there.no pics from my state I’m in and it’s long distance dating.That’s all I got.

By reading their guidelines and then breaking them. I did this on Match in 2016. Essentially I changed my profile to say, “Life without giving BJs isn’t living, and my perfect match always has crack at the ready.” That was just the tip of the iceberg. They canceled me sooo fast it was truly impressive.

Pets really don’t replace human companionship.. of course that’s my subjective assertion.Friends and family can only give so much. Finding congruity with a companion with honesty and adding to your happiness would be the apotheosis of an amazing relationship. It’s reassuring to know that there are ladies out there looking for that kind of relationship as I am too. The process can be arduous.. but persistence may someday give dividends in the this regard.

Well, animals don't lie, cheat, steal or manipulate. They provide unconditional love.
That said, I don't have them either, too much hair and dirt, plus they own you. 24/7 care. People with pets are often tied down, unable to travel or spend and entire day away exploring. And vet bills? No thanks.
