I remember that series, all of Canada shut down during those games. They showed grit, hard work, and a fairy tale ending. Thank you members of Team Canada
watched Hockey Night IN Canada every Saturday night growing up in Michigan, and recognized every player, what a great group of players. In 3 years hope most are still alive and healthy to attend 50 year anniversary
i am so proud to be old enough to have witnessed this most amazing event and to each player i give a hearty thank you for an event in my life i will never forget. it is number three on my list next to the birth of my daughter and my son. GO CANADA GO!!!
@@TRKEWEENAW Kharlamov's ankle was broken by an intentional Bobby Clarke slash, under orders from Asst. Coach John Ferguson. NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF, CANADA.
Thank you Bobby Clarke. I was there in Montreal, and I knew you would come back. Because you were out of shape and very tight. Anywhere you went in TO the game was on. From the schools to the buses to the person walking on the street. Whereever you went the game was on. We love our hockey and we love you guys Thank you.
Remember the series well. Even though I was only 7 at the time. Hated Clarke and Esposito as a Leafs fan but sure was glad they were on Canada's team. I've been an Espo fan ever since.
It was set-up, have you guys play in the summer. They wanted to play the Stanley cup champions, I said get in the league and if you make it there then you have the opportunity.

Cournoyer won 10 Stanley cups. Do you wanna guess where he's gonna wear this one? Too funny!😢
There should have been a small group within the organizers from Canada.. that had the courage to call that team what it really was, "Team NHL" --- NOT 'team canada'. .... No excuse for not have Robert Marvin HULL on that team, for example.
Dryden was not very good and my favorite player the big M could not control his stress having to play against the Russians, it threw him off his game .
Actually...dryden got a lot of crap...but Watch the games. Not only the hilights...dryden was good...and often trying to defend against 2 on1 or being short handed ... canada won 4 games, tied 1 and lost 3. Dryden was a big part of that
Dennis was a great hockey player and one very, very good MC / story teller.
RIP to my childhood hero The Great Tony Esposito 😢

I hear ya!
The 72 series made Valery Kharlamov a household name. The speed and skill he demonstrated was really an eye opener for NHL scouts.
Don't forget Tretchiak, or do you think the Russians played without a goalie?
Until his ankle was broken...

Lost his life in a fatal car crash..a very talented Russian player.
Vlad T..the best goalie in Russian hockey.
I’m proud to say I saw everyone of these great players either on the Rangers or the visiting team from my blue seat at MSG.

This was a treat.....
Hull's Hadfield joke is priceless if you've ever heard it.
great!!!
The film clips always show Bill Goldsworthy raising his arms in triumph after game 8 in Moskva Arena. But you never see what his fingers are doing.😆
Where is Bobby , sorry BOB, Clarke, Probably at Alan Eaglesons house.

Ken "Mr Cornell" Dryden
Yup Dryden went to college at Cornell and his jersey is in the rafters.
I hope they do something special for the 50th even though Puke-In screwed up a full celebration.Mr. Turd-Oh you had better finance some of it!

Sad Orr couldn't play
And Bobby Hull.
who's the guy after Brian Gleanie? It's "Don" but the family name i can't figure it out.
Don Awrey, Bruins (and later Montreal) defenseman and car salesman in NH.
