    Hey Mario, super encouraged to come across a fellow Christian in PA school! My husband & I have also been reminded of God's provision & mercy during my PA school journey (including getting into a super crazy car accident on our move a couple days before starting my program in SoCal). May the Lord continue to bless you + your wife & keep your eyes fixed on Him for His glory & your good!

      Viktoriya thank you so much for kind words! This PA journey has tested our faith in ways I was not expecting but it's been an opportunity for the Lord to just show up in our lives and allow us to fully rely on him. I hope there were no major injuries from that car accident! My wife and I will keep you and your family in our prayers. Hope all is well amiga and thank you for watching!

Turns out i’m from around your home city and i saw your ER rotation video recently and saw you had worked at LLUMC 🙏 i’m currently there too! it’s amazing seeing another person that’s like me, that is in the field I want to be in 💪🏽 thank you brotha

      Hermano! Thank you for watching and commenting! Please don't hesitate to reach out with specific questions about this process. It's a long road but a worthwhile one. Working in the LLUMC ED is by far one of the best patient care experiences out there and I have no doubt you'll become a competitive candidate! You can reach me on IG @themexicanpa or via my email themexicanpa@gmail.com Saludos!

    I was accepted for a spring 2025 admission to my local university (in kinesiology). 2020 taught me that failure is not the end of the world. I’ve taken some courses recently but I decided I wanted to become the first PA-C of my family. GPA’s are not my strongest but I’m dedicated to doing the best I can to get into the program. I’m currently a medsurg CNA and have learned a lot within my job about surgery and post surgery work for the patients I see. This video and more is making me more confident each time I watch them!!

    I am debating PA school but don't want to fail out from the sheer amount of course material at once :/ got a BS in global disease bio from davis last year but have been hesitant to apply bc of severe imposter syndrome. Also, I am loving the temple coffee roasters cup!!

    • @themexicanpa
      @themexicanpa  Год назад +3

      Hermano/a…you are capable of getting through and becoming a PA-C! The imposter syndrome is something I experience daily - but it’s through experiencing difficult, uncomfortable, and often stressful situations that our growth as medical providers happens! The Mario that was once nervous and anxious about taking a manual blood pressure on my first real patient as an EMT is the same Mario now that is responsible for reading an EKG or prescribing the correct antibiotic! I still get nervous, but recognize that medicine is ultimately a team sport and everyone is learning and growing as we progress through each patient encounter, class, course, and job! The more important thing to ask yourself that can’t be taught - are you passionate about caring for others and are you committed to being a lifelong learner? If you can answer yes to both…you can become a PA.
      I highly recommend you check out this video, in the middle part I interview one of my classmates who mentions his fear of failing out of PA school: ruclips.net/video/VfXfw9xYNFM/видео.htmlsi=2koIfRN7GOyRntn6
      I hope it helps. Animo! 👨🏻‍⚕️🇲🇽🤝🏼

      @@themexicanpa exactly! Thanks for this inspiring message! I am also an emt. Been one for 1.5 years and took my program with the UCD fire academy two years ago. The main thing is handling the course load bc undergrad was hard for me aswell.
      Do you possibly do private mentoring to get an acceptance into PA school?

    • @themexicanpa
      @themexicanpa  Год назад +2

      Hola hermano! The UCD PA program is not cheap. 🫠 Roughly around 240k
      Here’s the link to the program’s financial aid cost of attendance: health.ucdavis.edu/financialaid/coa-son.html
      That being said, I was blessed to get a scholarship that covered about 90% of my tuition and living expenses. Here’s the link to that: nhsc.hrsa.gov/scholarships/overview
