    Back is early 2020, I had bought a standard 2020 R1 then 6 months later out of curiosity went and found a new 2020 R1M to replace it with. The R1M is totally more comfy and feels like it handles that much better all the time. Dont forget the R1M has a Hand-Formed Aluminum Gas tank too. Thanks for this video it confirms my thoughts exactly 💯

    For you boys who have this bike from 2015 or newer you can install the radar detector underneath the right cheek fairing. Theres a comparement box etc. which have just enough space for one. Just make the on/off switch somewhere. I made microswitch next to hand so could pushed with the thumb. But the thing is you need a RD which works with the bluetooth. Check those stealth ones. Biased opinion here ('23 R1 owner) and never having rode an R1M, I personally can't justify the price difference. I track my bikes and have done some basic mods to my R1 (videos on channel) and I love the bike, been my dream bike for many years. But due to tracking and only riding street occasionally, the increased comfort you describe in the R1M isn't enticing enough for me. I also would cry if I crashed my R1, so I imagine I'd have some suicidal tendencies if it was an M lol. Anyway, beautiful machines, would love an M but content with my R1 and using the $10k for tires, track days, and mods. Great video!

    I had a bad experience with my 2020 R1. The engine blew at around 5000 mi (8000km). The bike had a full Akrapovic exhaust and Power Commander V+Secondary Fuel module with the map from the Dynojet site. Also, there is big flatspot when you put decat exhaust on the new R1. Motonosity had this problem when he installed SC Project exhaust. I even noticed that RUclipsr Imkay test rode R1 60th, and the bike also had flatspot. The MotoMillions R1M also has flatspot. Before people start commenting that it needs to be remapped/flashed. Both R1 60th that ImKay test rode and MotoMillions R1M were flashed.

    Hmm " you can totally dial the r1m suspension". You can actually "totally dial" the reg R1 suspension too. Setting sag you still have to manually jack or otherwise the rear shock on both, With the R1M you are dealing with a dynamic suspension. ..Which is actually not what you ideally want if you're at the track. Dynamic suspension is getting better but impedes performance if you have any skills. Having owned both bikes I didnt feel the huge difference stated riding around re comfort. Ohlins is obviously a higher end set up but still.... I ran my R1M on manual suspension set up as was far superior to the dynamic set up - Carbon fibre is a nice touch but doesnt add to performance albeit weighing cpl pounds less. Electronics on both bikes are the same outwith the ability to set the dynamic suspension on R1M. All in all the same bike with different suspension. IMO best to go the regular R1M route switch the fork internals and possibly switch the rear shock if your skill set merits it and you;ll have a bike superior to the R1M.

    When you have a lotta money to spend in 5, 10 different bikes, it doesn’t matter anymore which one is slightly better at one thing or another, and you should do whatever you feel like. But for the most mortals of us it’s interesting to think a bit more thoroughly, I guess. The R1 and R1M are definitely not two completely different bikes. They are in fact pretty much the same bike. After a lot of thought, research and after testing both bikes, I decided for the R1. And the money that I saved in the Öhlins suspensions I will maybe use in the future for upgrading the brakes of the R1, which is for sure the most negative point of the bike, and in this respect the R1 and R1M are exactly the same, they both have exactly the same brakes. And if you really want to be serious in the race track there are even better options with other non automatic Öhlins suspensions out there. But as I said, if money for you is not an issue, go with the R1M, it’s a beautiful looking bike. Peace and love

NO, if you do not have 2 grand to play with can you make the normal R1 as good yes you can, but only to do with auto-tuning of the suspension but it will only run over a number of tracks for example which once its set it will stay, so to be honest lern howto tune your suspension its done simple as but next track same again, lol

    What’s camber on a motorcycle?

    • @CK_RIDES
      @CK_RIDES  Год назад

      Camber on a motorcycle refers to the angle of the wheels relative to the vertical axis of the bike when viewed from the front or rear. Specifically, it is the angle between the vertical axis of the wheel and a plane perpendicular to the ground.
      Positive camber is when the top of the wheel is angled outward from the vertical axis, and negative camber is when the top of the wheel is angled inward toward the bike. In motorcycles, positive camber is generally undesirable because it can cause the bike to feel unstable and reduce traction during cornering.
      It's worth noting that some motorcycles, particularly off-road or motocross bikes, may have intentionally designed positive camber to improve stability and handling in certain situations, such as when landing from jumps or tackling rough terrain. However, for most street-oriented motorcycles, a slight negative camber or a neutral camber angle is preferred for optimal handling and safety.
