I wonder what we’re gonna do about that 🤔🤔 like any videos of politicians can’t be trusted anymore, so many scams are gonna happen etc. Unless they somehow figure out how to put a water mark deep into the video code somehow, but then again I can see how you could easily change it. Idk it’s gonna be real tough :/
@@malikpeace_ I have a theory about that. That may be the shift you were mentioning. I don't think we are going to get huge scandals and so on with fake videos and stuff. Think about it: what'll happen when we wont be able to trust anything on the internet. Nothing: is this a human talking to me or a bot? Is this a true picture or video? Is this the truth that post is saying? The older one got access to the internet, the more they thought it had the same rules as real life: old people are scammed by fake emails, less old people by drop shipper, less old by the ideal body they are made to think they need, and the youngest by
@malikpeace_ social media trends. At first to deceive you had to be a good liar like IRL, then you just had to be a good photoshop artist, then know a bit of AI, then no skill required. Were are going to reach a point where the kids are going to be wiser than most and so used to deceptions, that the first time they notice something even slightly genuine is going to be in their rocking bed with their parents or something. They may despise technology because it takes their parents away. Combine that with the fact that each generation wants to distinguish themselves from the older one, and, maybe, I hope, there is going to be a whole generation that will reject technology the same way some religion reject casual sex and stuff. Trends are usually a wheel. This will have consequences, because if a whole generation can't work and the whole economy is virtual, it's going to be weird...
@malikpeace_ But hey, maybe our species is not doomed. Let's hope when the internet can't be trusted in the slightest at all, we all collectively realize that the only way to know if something is true is to be there in person, nothing less. 'OK alpha' is going to be the new Ok boomer, and it'll refer to someone with no attention span, and be thrown each time someone mentions the internet. It's not that far fetched. When I was teenager, playing video game was super lame and got could get you bullied easily. And its less then 20 years ago There is this ancestral fear that the world is going to end after us because the new generation is so weird and different than us, and each generations believes it at some extent! Maybe right now is the biggest challenge humanity will have to face, and it's going to be weird times, maybe weirder than ever. They'll face unique challenges as future adults. But they'll manage
no no dont worry just hire 100 AI experts and AI detection services and if one confirms that the vid is AI generated then use it as a way to defend urself
i remember one time in 2016 where i went to toronto and i ate in the restaurant at the top of the CN Tower. i was reading a diary of a wimpy kid book and one of the waitresses mentioned how refreshing it was to see someone reading and not on their phone. this was in 2016........ it was bad then and its 100x worse now
@FoxxWatchingVideos to get people off there phones I'd ban communist apps, and try to encourage social interaction, maybe not teach kids what a "stranger" is just to encourage them to do human interaction whenever possible as it's the only way to get people off phones. Maybe encourage more group collaboration or critical thinking in schools and workplaces?
As a 15 year old guy, I’m not sure what it was about this video, but it made me tear up a little bit. For the first time in a long time, I remembered opening my moms phone around 6 years old and seeing the old RUclips and Instagram logos, but I remember that I had no idea what they were and could have cared less about technology in general. It snuck up so quickly that now I’m not in the younger group of people on RUclips, TikTok, etc. and it kills me to see how little kids behave online. In fact, you read my mind with the beginning. I was in a restaurant this morning with my friend’s 9 year old little sister next to me, and she was just mindlessly scrolling TikTok at 100mph completely tuned out to the world and the experience of eating her food. It made me think about how life was so much different as a little kid than most little kids now and got me really sad. Today, I don’t have short form apps, but I’ve wasted so much time watching RUclips videos or scrolling shorts, or just browsing random internet crap for 5 hours a day. Besides that, I’ve been exposed to bad and sexual content and knowledge at a young age, and it made me think about my body and older people around me in a disgusting way, and I ended up in the hospital for a whole month 2 years ago literally because I starved myself not wanting to grow up and go into puberty because of all the gross sexual stuff older people talked about and recorded online that I as a young kid saw. Still, although I am sick and tired of the internet, I feel forced into it because it’s the new socialization normal and basically meaning of life. I feel like since the internet started, kids, teens and even adults have lost respect for things and people around them, and it’s just made the world so toxic. We NEED a movement or a trend to get off the internet and live our normal lives that our bodies are built for. If technology advances much further, friendships and even serious relationships won’t have any true physical meaning or connections, and ultimately our whole world will be in a state of anxiety and depression. Kids won’t connect with each other or understand how the world used to be, and they’ll just live this dull, technology-absorbed lifestyle. The big companies are also the ones to blame for this, and they need to be stopped, but if our future lawmakers had iPads and TikTok at 7 years old then they will still be addicted and not know how important it is to stop the big tech corporations to actually experience life. I encourage you, if you’re still reading, to take a moment and think about what life could really be like without internet. If you were born before 2010 like me, you probably remember a time when things were somehow way simpler and more interesting, vibrant, fun, memorable, but it’s hard to get off the internet now. Like this guy said, older generations always sad the new ones are bad, but this has to be the biggest crisis of a young generation. Please spread the word and try to get more involved in real life. Thank you for reading.
I'm 17 and this comment hits hard. Thanks for being around to write this. I can mostly relate to the "seeing sexual stuff as a kid", but indirectly, 'cause my parents always did their best to protect me from that kind of content. (They still do.) But alas, my classmates in elementary school did not get treated the same way. I remember all the boys in my class hanging around in the locker room during PE, 12-13 years old at the time, browsing through adult websites, laughing. Of course, now that I'm 17, I've been exposed to a LOT. My parents never approached me with "the talk" that I see in American movies/shows because they're either waiting till I turn 18 for some reason or because they're assuming I know it all already. And it's most likely the latter. I'm genuinely happy to be born in '06, to have a sense of what life was before whatever this is we have today. I'm sorry for the things you had to go through.
I am also some 15yo random I did not go through the stuff you had to go through and I even learned english by watching English contend but if you wanna get offline plant something I had the luck of owning a lot of big flower pots so I planted a apple tree sunflowers and roses in them it helps maybe you find something like this
Thank you for writing this. You have a lot of courage writing this and I'm sure a lot of people can relate and be helped by your message. It is crazy tho how I'm sure you're story isn't uncommon. How much the internet has effected the lives of so many young people. It's equally sad that i don't really know a solution to this. You and everyone here mostly likely agrees that the internet should be a tool and not something to spend our entire lives on, but others just ignore the message and sink deeper and deep into depression. The internet is something people are addicted to and will become more and more addicted to and i don't see it stopping anytime soon. Maybe even ever, until something replaces the internet entirely. I wish could stop people and make them think about their lives but that's never going to happen. The only thing we can really do is be an example. Show others how the internet should be used by improve our lives and those around us. maybe then some people might stop and look up and realized how trapped they are in the web. I wish there was something else we could do but i really don't see what else can be done. Hell i mean we're here on the internet talking about how bad the internet is. We're all trapped unforuntatly but some more than others. I really hope things get better for you and you learn a good relationship with the internet. It's one of the most powerful tools EVER but i do 100% understand how easy it is to fall into the dark pits as well. Goodluck to you and i really appreciate your comment and support
If I ever had children I wouldn’t give them smartphones until they are teenagers since I don’t want to spoil their growing minds. I was born in 1983 even before the internet 🛜
I'm 17 right now, born in '06 , so I basically grew up with technology. iPads, cellphones, game consoles and computers, you name it. But at the time, technology was very simple, most games weren't mindless garbage, and online content was very different than it was today. I'm not going to deny that I wasn't - or still am addicted - , as technology has become a very big part of my life, but it's really damning seeing the effects of current internet on the newer generations today. Also this video really changed my perspective on life and technology, I think I'll start appreciating life as a whole now. This whole video was very well written and very engaging, and I was not expecting this type of content from someone with only 500 subs. Keep it up man, this is great!
i think you are close to the last age that won't be internet dependent because like you said, the technology was simple. but imagine the kids today that have vr 4k stimulating games as their baseline. Oh and thank you for your kind words :) im glad you got something from this video
@@malikpeace_I was born 2010, only grew up with a DSi and a Gamecube, was always forced to go outside with the neighbors, and I could only watch FTA TV. Maybe it's where you are from but, I see alot of kids in the park playing and out with friends, while yes, most have phones. I don't see them use it much as they don't really need one, only really kids from rich familys who are spoilt expirence this stuff. They get the newest consoles, VRs, iPhone 15, (for girls) makeup, very ?adult? looking clothing and iPads. But most kids from a middle class family grow up normally i'd say.
With every generation there will always be horrible examples in addition to the astounding with everything inbetween. What matters is that we continue to provide better examples for those within our sphere of influence as well as guide the next generation where we are able; we are all works in progress and must adapt to the ever changing times. I won't use TikTok and hope I can at least provide a base for my children to appreciate the quiet moments and adopt productive hobbies; thank you for taking the time to make this video.
That’s good :) and thank you for your support :)) But I think that a lot younger people are struggling to find good roles models when it comes to this cuz even adults and old people are addicted to their phones now
@@malikpeace_same I never had a smart phone until I was 17. All my ex friends and peers asked how did I live? It's like internet is their arc reactor, just breath and live. It was had scratching
God, you explained what tiktok is and does to you so well. This happened to me like a year ago, not even 20 mins and I was hooked and it killed off ALL of my time for a Saturday. I immediately deleted tiktok for good, but still have the addictive urge to this day to redownload and use it again. How scary, thank you for spreading good word.
As someone born in 2008 (15), I feel like the excess of short form content is already hurting the rest of my pre-adulthood life. There’s so many reasons why short form content is horrible for RUclips, and more for why it’s bad for mental health. At least I have some nice memories of lbp with my older brother.
Bro, I haven't even finished watching yet but I'm loving this video. Well done, this is the quality I expect to see from channels with hundreds of thousands of subs - see you on the moon brother ♥
As a '10 and without any form of social media and barely any screen time expect on weekend, seeing people around my age and younger, glued to their screens for hours at a time every day with no end. From my perspective, yes, gen alpha is cooked. Love the video quality btw, keep up the awesome content
7:30 uhh that took me an entire 0 secs. I have no tiktok. In fact I've been on YT for like 10 years and I've released a grand total of 2 shorts. And I don't often watch shorts. They're fuckin stupid, almost nothing to be learned (except how vile they are.) I actually tend to prefer videos in the 20-60 minute range, listening while cleaning house, driving to work, etc. I especially love the "conspiracy" types like "was the Titanic sunk on purpose?" or "was the holocaust real?" and shit like that.
I know im only 16 but im deadass scared asf for the future. I got my first ever phone at 13 years old and it was some cheap trash, it barely functioned but got the job done. However, my sister was 7 years old when she got the newest Samsung tablet and a phone, she doom scrolls everyday for hours and barely talks to people. She learned about stuff she just shouldn’t know at that age and it kind of worries me thinking that everyone else with a younger sibling might be going through the same problem. Gen Z and Gen Alpha are doomed.
Aint nothing wrong with that lol. im 22 and still barley have anything figured out but im surviving. Bro i forgot all about vsmile. I remember playing this little batman and superman game. If i watch old gameplay it makes me feel some type of way, like a kid again
isolation is one of the best things i've ever done. True isolation tho, not with a phone in the hand. That's how you find out what you wanna do with your life
I was born in 1997. After the "pandemic", I became even more attached to my phone and recently it has started to become so problematic that I use it in the toilet, in bed, while eating, while waiting for the bus, while playing video games (yes, I know while playing video games). It's a very saddening situation.About 2 weeks ago I deleted all my social media accounts and I only use reddit and youtube for educational purposes. I can say that my head is as light as it has never been and the boredom passes after the first few days.
I have not downloaded tiktok, because everyone who has, always says "I wish I hadn't". The way people talk about short-form content, it sounds like how people talk about smoking.
I’d imagine they will still be very capable and impressive generations. Many will just have to overcome more challenges then even gen z had to face. I bet they will be a powerful generation.
As a person who is born in 2010 and I understand that this is our worse nightmares, it was like I grew up with iPad, but more than just iPad, I remember things as a kid like, plays games, enjoying Christmas, and more, now I am 13 year old Czech teenager Christian, now that the world is doomed, it’s time to stop!
I instantly subscribed, It seems like you understand a lot of these things or at least know about the worlds problems. It's very sad parents give there kids iphones and ipads as young kids. All I know is once i have kids.. im going to raise them the right way
Your mid-video speech on how people over 20 yeras old live really lifted me. I'm just coming out of a bad place while writing this and your words really helped me. Knowing that my life will get better and it only needs time honestly helped me so much. Even though I'm younger than 20, I grew up without the latest tech, only a slow pc and no phone. I can't imagine how I could've turned out if I had access to apps like Instagram and Snapchat at that age. I recently saved up for a PC which I am currently typing on, which took me around a year to save up for on an allowance of £10 per week, some of the money was gifts from others for my birthday and whatnot. However, it shows that not all of our achievments need to be recorded on a camera and uploaded to our story. I'm currently at 11:10 in the video right now, and to review the video a little, I want to say that your content is superb! I'd expect commentary like this from a channel with atleast 15k subs! I have never tried to or probably will try to become a content creator, so I don't know the struggles of content creation but you have my respect. I hope your youtube career flourishes.
Yes, it's so annoying when people need to have everything recording or documented. As what kind of PC is it? (idk anything about them) but I'm glad i was able to help in some way, as that is the ultimate goal of this channel. Thank you for your words, they help a lot more than you know :)
I'm glad you responded! the PC isn't anything spectacular. I don't play many demanding games anyways and if i do then the PC takes it fine. I just discussed the PC because I felt that it shows that you do sometimes need to wait for good things to come in life and that patience is infact a virtue. I appreciate your work, like I do for most content creators but yours especially because you put out great content for the amount of subs you have. I've never liked the format of "minecraft gameplay + stock photos", however your type of content like many others is perfect to listen to when studying or playing a solo game. Remember that the best way to grow not only from an algorithmic standpoint but also a moral standpoint is unique and creative content! Your scripts are amazing and im sure if you make the visual part of the video more appealling then people would absolutely flock to your channel. That's just constructive criticism from someone who's never done RUclips before, so I don't know how hard it might be. I want to keep it brief because I have schoolwork to get to but I hope for the best for you and your RUclips channel!
The fact that barely any people watch this underrated youtuber is insane. You also have actually gave me a reason to use my goddamn latop, thank you so much for this bro. You are a fucking gigachad
Man, this is amazing content. I looked at your channel, expecting someone of well over hundreds of thousands of subscribers, but just over 1k?!? your production quality is amazing! And also, I’m very proud of my 34 seconds scroll time.
As a Generation Alpha or Gen Z Who is born in 2010 (Media argues than Gen Z ends in 2009 and the other side of the media argues that Gen Z ends in 2012). For some reason, I was given a Tablet when I was maybe 4. Instead of watching youtube. I played minecraft all day long. Until I hit 7 years of age, I found an app called "Sketch". And unsupervised, I would see drawings all day online, I wanted to create a fandom but It ended up cringy. But well, me as a kid I didn't know much about the internet. And then I discovered ROBLOX in 2018, began playing on my own independent account in 2019. And my peak of "being weird" was so high, until my friends started to act and realized that, I was not too ready for the internet, and slowly started to be mature. And here I am. 2024. I enjoy going out with my parents after the pandemic, I loved to try new things, I don't look at my phone when I'm outside and enjoy life, and I look into my generation. My generation is weird. Generation Alpha won't be normal until parents act. They aren't 13 and old enough for the internet yet. Instead of giving someone a tablet to give them distracted, why not let them play with legos? 😕
Also when I was 4, I used to play with my Tablet but do play with toys most of the time which was the best time of life for it, since was like, 9 or 10, I played on my Tablet. Do not call me an iPad kid because after 2018 through today, right now I have a high powered pc, iPad which I don't play as much, a phone and both PS5, 4 and a 3 which my cousin sometimes play on. But generation, mainly from 2020 is just sickening
I am a gen alpha and even I see a problem with this, and although I use my phone a lot I still go outside, ride a bike, play with my friends offline and still have fun, plus I refuse to get tiktok. Oh yeah I don't use my phone when eating with my family
I remember when i was a kid and my father only let me play some mobile games (subway surfers, angry birds, jetpack joyride etc) on the weekend for only a few hours and if i did good on my english lessons the previews day.... next year i will be 18 years old and now that i am older i feel like he did the right thing back then...cant imagine myself being stuck on my tablet for 24/7....my father eventualy bought me a phone in the first year of middle school and he let me have it for as long as i wanted to and from there i discovered my passion for programming...next year when i give my finals i will try to do my best in order to get into a programming university and make him proud for his decision.
childhood from blasting glass bottles with slingshots and riding skateboards downhill roads plus swimming in the sea and playing football in afternoons after school classes . this generation of kids and not only is so grabbed out of the real world .
Great video Malik. I noticed you said VR was "around the corner" and similar a few times. VR has been going pretty strong for almost a decade now, and the medium already has alot of people (both adults and children) hooked and alot of them cant handle it in a healthy way. Im a huge VR nerd myself, but with age (26 soon) my interest for games in general has mellowed quite a bit. If you havent already, you should look up VRChat and all the crazy stuff going on there. Its a prime example of how something good and fun can be turned on its head and become dangerous, especially for kids. Again, very well done.
its insane how the world is changing so rapidly and we are making so much technological progress, yet people arent even using it for its original purpose It really might seem like these IPad kids are doomed but there is a solution to everything also crazy video, very well done :>
I feel like most kids are doomed. but there are gonna be some who are gonna use this to their advantage. I think this new developments is gonna make it easier for people to get ahead while also make it easier to fall behind just depending on which side you're on. I honestly can't really think of a solution to be honest because it just gonna keep on going and going and going. People are making money from this and they're not gonna stop just cuz someone doesn't like it. Even if they do stop, there's gonna be someone else somewhere who's gonna keep going. In 15 years the vision pro is gonna be looked at the same way we look at the original iPhone today. It's gonna get really tempting (honestly it already is) to get stop living in the real world and completely give into the virtual world. Once they figure out how to actually walk, move and feel in the virtual word it's over. But, then there are also gonna be those people who are gonna like, oh lemme use this ai and see what i can build with it and gonna make TRILLIONS idk all this is very interesting, i think imma be okay because of my mindset and i can survive without technology but as SORA and CHATGPT we created someone on earth was born. i wonder what their world is gonna look like. I'm 22 and honestly, im pretty excited! unless ultron is created or something Oh, Thank you as always :)
Im also excited for the future and I know for a fact that I will do exactly as I plan. I just hope more people wake up and figure out what to do with their life. Honestly it would be super cool if a bunch of people who already beat the challenges of life would come together and form some kind of team where they fund special associations and help tons of people. that would be a crazy future and I would be a part of it. I also want to point out that one of your videos has actually changed my life for the better. You made me wake up from my boring life and I am extremely thankful. I'm starting to learn new things and valuable lessons everyday. I've even made more mental progress than my entire family and I'm the youngest one! I always give them advice and tell them how they need to change their mindsets, I'm just spreading your word. Thank you! :>@@malikpeace_
I was born in 2004 and I can sympathize with pretty much everything you've said in this video. I've never touched TikTok or Instagram reels for obvious reasons, but I catch myself half-doom scrolling on RUclips shorts sometimes. The idea of "Entertaining ourselves to death" has been brought up in many different ways throughout the decades, but I think the gen alpha kids really mark the watershed moment of humanity embracing the grim concept as the new status quo.
good shit. a lot of what's mentioned in this video should be talked about more often, but people really don't pay any mind to it. but yeah, we're gonna go through a shitstorm. keep it up bro.
I feel like the generation after gen alpha will be fine. Just because gen alpha is being raised by milennials who don't know how to parent with this much technology around them and accessible to their kid. Thus throwing an Ipad in front of them to occupy them. But, gen Z knows what life was like with technology in theit teens so I feel like they're gonna know how to raise their kid with technology. As long as they actually know how to parent and don't fuck with their minds like some of these parents do.
I’m surprised this video doesn’t have way more views, your very well spoken and good with your points I’m def gonna be staying off my phone more after this video💀
I have a 9 year old great granddaughter. Yes, she has an iPad. She watches RUclips, sends text, FaceTimes, plays games and does school work with it. She also is in 4-H raising a2 sheep, feeds the chickens, swimming lessons, gardens, cooks, plays creatively, does crafts. She is home schooled and participates with a home schooling group. They meet for field trips, learning units (science, history, etc). Other activities included dance and gymnastics and golf lessons. Depending on which parent she is with she does lots of other things. Last weekend she was outside helping Papa shovel snow. Technology is not going away. It is necessary for kids to navigate it. Parents simply need to make sure their kids have plenty of exposure to other things off line. I am 70 years old and have watch tech evolve. The first computer in our home was in the early 80s. My kids, grandkids and great grandkids have lives both online and off. BTW, my autistic grandson started with an iPad at 2. It was part of his therapy. He went from none verbal to normal communcation. My advice is to make sure your children have their iPad and plenty of other life experiences. Teach them survival skills. Teach them how to build things and care for animals and people. Balance because it is not going away.
10:24 I saw a comment on a similar video, saying something like this: “Gen Z and Millenials text in shorthand, but write and talk properly. Gen A writes and talks how they would over a text message”
Im 17 years old, born in ‘06. I didn’t grew up with the internet and im truly grateful i haven’t. I got my first smartphone when i entered high school (10th grade basically) but before that, i went out with family and friends, i grew up in Puerto rico and the Dominican republic for half of my life until i moved into the states. I always went to watch local football games, arcades, bowling, you name it. I enjoyed being outside. And i appreciate the feeling of the outdoors and not having to spend it mindlessly on TikTok, scrolling for hours upon hours just for a quick hit of dopamine. I cannot imagine being on my phone for more then 3 hours straight, it hurts my head and bores me out of my mind, i play games on my consoles which is still the same as scrolling on TikTok but not as bad not sure All in all, these poor kids are gonna grow up super unsociable, spoiled out of their god damn minds, and have no physical contact with the outside world other than social media. Plus im getting into the Army in a few weeks so i hope i don’t die :)
Thank you for your service in advance! but yeah that's really nice to hear, most people can't even phathom a life without their phone and I'm glad to hear some people are still living
This video has been my thoughts exactly i think the problem within itself is not consumption its mindless consumption consuming content without purpose or without value is what rots your brain keep up the work my guy i hope to see more of you in the future
I was struck by the video's honesty, particularly the part about how even adults are becoming addicted to TikTok and other similar apps. Humanity appears to be losing something significant due to this addiction. If we fail to recognise the possible harm, especially to our children, I fear for our future. We think that by giving them a phone or tablet, we can distract them while we do other things, even though they are helpless and in need of guidance. I am going to show a lot of my friends this enlightening video. It is interesting to note that I was born when technology was just beginning to advance, so I am roughly ten years older than you. It is impossible to imagine what we have now. AI agents may even become commonplace in the near future, rendering outdated notions about teachers and pets for children obsolete.
Officially your 688th sub ❤❤❤ ,, insane vid, you are criminally underrated! Made me think about my life a lot as a 2007 kid who wants to be an artist more than anything ((in a world of ai :((( ))
thank you #688 lol i really apprieate it :)) but honestly and im being 100% honest not trying to shoot down your dreams, being an artist during this age is going to be incredibly hard if not impossible. i have another video coming out about it soon but i really do worry about the future of artists
Im so glad I came across this video, as a 2010 kid everyday I wish I was born atleast 5 years before because of this future gen shi Im so glad I had a childhood without technology and hobbies mentioned in the video, and now personally i feel more disconnected from the internet because I wasn't glued to it until age 12 now im 14 great job on the video, keep it up!
As someone born In 2012 Great video! I’m also the oldest child and I confirm IPad kids are very bad I try to warn my parents and they won’t listen to me so yeah
I’m the oldest gen a possible who’s never had any social media other than RUclips. I’ve always wanted to keep it that way. This video is actually brilliant.
You know, when I like, seven or something, I started a journal hoping that it would be found after I died, because I had nightmares that my presence would just vanish as soon as I was put in the ground. I think it was irrational now, because I can’t do everything else before that.
i was born in 2008. my parents never let me get a phone until i was 13 and i got my first computer at 8. im so happy that for about 8 years i managed to live a normal life away from screens. im extremely thankful that i got to know what it felt like playing with toys. im gonna do the same thing with my future kids
This video is impactful, I was born 2002 and I remember my first source of entertainment was a Gameboy Advance SP at around age 4-7 I can’t remember what age I was honestly. Im in my early 20s and I refuse to get TikTok today. I didn’t get an iphone till I was 16 and to me that was the best decisions my parents ever made. And I feel terribly bad for my future generations because the technology of the 90s and 00s were so good and interesting. I love anything PlayStation 1 and 2 related in terms of games or aesthetic. Hell I love early video games and technology so much I committed my usual lazy self to write a full essay on video game history. See my future generation being consumed by tiktoks and mindless garbage makes me sick and worried as hell as a Gen Z adult. Thank you for this video for hopefully opening the eyes of many people.
I had given up youtube, social media and TV for a couple of years. I felt so awesome and got so much done. RUclips is the only one that made it back to my life
When I was 6-7 years old, I only use the tv for dancing videos and dance with my friends, i am born in 2011, and that time i do not use phone/ipad, only the tv, thats all, and once i grow I am playing with my friends and i never heard of tiktok, now im 12 years old using my laptop 24/7, but resting my eyes and play with my sister, i still study tho, although i aint that addicted to screens, I sometimes go out without a screen at all. so u can say i am mixed with gen z and gen alpha attitude.
Honestly when I have kids I am not allowing them access to the internet at all until at least 16 and even then with restrictions. This stuff fucks your head up and makes you weak, physically and mentally. Exercising may be hard and in the moment it may suck, but actually getting your ass up and getting to push your limits is the best feeling ever. People need to drop the phones and start learning how to embrace the suck. The ironic thing is that by embracing the suck, your life becomes better and you become happier, despite it being harder than before.
As a gen alpha myself, I can't believe that other gen alphas are being addictive to their ipads, sure it's not bad to have one but when I was a kid, I never even had any ipads or phones but I would always use my mom's phone or just watch some cartoons to entertain myself but now as a 12 yr old we 9nly use the iPad for 2 hours and after that, we're done. Why cant parents limit their time and then instead just use the iPad all day, it's bad for your health to do this.
I’m 16, and I have a bit of hope towards the future. I’ve known about IPad kids for awhile, but have seen them absolutely explode in popularity over the past few months. It makes me think that we as a society have finally noticed the issue and are going to solve it. I’m a writer, and I try to keep any content I consume healthy for my brain. I watch a lot of RUclips, but almost never watch RUclips Shorts and don’t even own TikTok. Maybe it’s because I’m a dirty, vile theater kid, but I still feel accepted among my peers while being out of the loop on a lot of the trending bullshit. I feel great, and I think a lot of other people will too eventually.
I’d like to make a point. I agree completely with everything you said, HOWEVER, the other day I was at a Chinese restaurant with my family. Next to us was an iPad kid, of course I thought that it was bad and I rolled my eyes seeing that. I looked around the room and noticed a few other kids, they were completely normal. Now I will say stimulation is a big problem but a lot of this stuff is a loud majority thing. You have to realize that to an extent most kids are normal dispirited technology changes.
Yes, there will be a lot of kids who will be fine, but, they will be a A LOT more who aren’t. Especially because this technology is just getting better, like right now there are kids born who literally never lived in a world before AI. Those kids are the real ones I’m worried about
Last 5. 1. A friend's tiktok 2. One where nematoads eat spongebob's house 3. A content creator's i like 4. A tiktok meant to have girls say what they are jealous about boys 5. One where somebody gets their windshield cracked by something that flys from the road.
@malikpeace_ one did. 4. Brought me some insight to what some of them actually think. The other 4 no. 1. Is just somebody I know 2. Is just the equivalent of some funny meme with a catchy song 3. Is one that posts funny videos but also does TikToks on occasion And 5. Was just a scary situation.
This is why schools should teach children on how to operate children but the school system is so old and rusty that changed is hard to do, and no one in power is willing to do so because their so out of touch
I was 9 when my buddy showed me the stuff when he was 7. There was even a kindergartner at our school who knew about adult content in detail. He was 5. That was years ago. It just gets worse everyday.
I'm 15 and I used to watch tiktok a lot but I saw how bad it was so instead of just deleting it i took it further and switched to a nokia e63 from 2008 and i dont use my laptop anymore. I read way more books now in my free time. however i still have my computer which i watch youtube on. however I try to use youtube to actually learn things.
POV: the judge plays an AI video of me committing a heinous crime
And its less then 20 years ago
There is this ancestral fear that the world is going to end after us because the new generation is so weird and different than us, and each generations believes it at some extent! Maybe right now is the biggest challenge humanity will have to face, and it's going to be weird times, maybe weirder than ever. They'll face unique challenges as future adults. But they'll manage
no no dont worry just hire 100 AI experts and AI detection services and if one confirms that the vid is AI generated then use it as a way to defend urself
i remember one time in 2016 where i went to toronto and i ate in the restaurant at the top of the CN Tower. i was reading a diary of a wimpy kid book and one of the waitresses mentioned how refreshing it was to see someone reading and not on their phone. this was in 2016........ it was bad then and its 100x worse now
Oh 1000% worse now
@@malikpeace_.. thats only 10x worse kekekek
In all seriousness, this is unfortunately true. Someone's gotta get people off
@FoxxWatchingVideos to get people off there phones I'd ban communist apps, and try to encourage social interaction, maybe not teach kids what a "stranger" is just to encourage them to do human interaction whenever possible as it's the only way to get people off phones. Maybe encourage more group collaboration or critical thinking in schools and workplaces?
@@pugorilla8848literally just ban social media lol
I would love that honestly, we need more community in our lives
Gen x and millenials are in a rare position of mastering both old and new technology.
Which is me since I’m 40 going on 41 years old this year
@@PraveenSrJ01you lived both lives too. before crazy tech an after how it’s going it’s going now
@@vhr3717 thanks for your reply. I wish we could go back to the old world 🌎
As a 15 year old guy, I’m not sure what it was about this video, but it made me tear up a little bit.
Unrelated, but iPad kids would tell you guys to "stop yapping," whenever this is probably something like 10 book pages.
It’s sad that many parents are ruining an entire generations worth of kids by putting screens in front of their faces at an early age.
From birth in many cases.
A lot of parents don’t want to be parents. They want pet humans so anytime they have to put in effort they contract it out to screens.
If I ever had children I wouldn’t give them smartphones until they are teenagers since I don’t want to spoil their growing minds. I was born in 1983 even before the internet 🛜
True but what else is the kid going to do why they are stuck doom scrolling?
because they don't want to parent
this is the content I expect from a channel with thousands apon thousands of subscribers good job man! keep it up
Yeah I was surprised when I looked at the sub count. The quality is so good even compared to large channels

I am so glad that short form content really doesn't affect me barley on tiktok or reels. Like my daily activity is literally 11m
16 rn, born in '07, yeah couldn't express it any better than that.
'05 here and videogames and youtube videos were so simple back then it didn't feel as addicting as now 😭
@@malikpeace_I was born 2010, only grew up with a DSi and a Gamecube, was always forced to go outside with the neighbors, and I could only watch FTA TV. But most kids from a middle class family grow up normally i'd say.
honestly i can't think of reason why we get addicted to shitty content at this point,it doesn't give anything expect emptiness
That’s good :) and thank you for your support :))
But I think that a lot younger people are struggling to find good roles models when it comes to this cuz even adults and old people are addicted to their phones now
This video was genuinely beautiful.
Thank you I really appreciate it :))
Great video! I was surprised that you only have 300 followers, you deserve much more!

As someone born in 2008 (15), I feel like the excess of short form content is already hurting the rest of my pre-adulthood life. There’s so many reasons why short form content is horrible for RUclips, and more for why it’s bad for mental health. At least I have some nice memories of lbp with my older brother.

7:30 uhh that took me an entire 0 secs. I have no tiktok. In fact I've been on YT for like 10 years and I've released a grand total of 2 shorts. And I don't often watch shorts. They're fuckin stupid, almost nothing to be learned (except how vile they are.)
I actually tend to prefer videos in the 20-60 minute range, listening while cleaning house, driving to work, etc. I especially love the "conspiracy" types like "was the Titanic sunk on purpose?" or "was the holocaust real?" and shit like that.
having a son soon, i don't want him to be a damn ipad kid

This channel is so underrated, honestly thought it said 465k subscribers at first.
imma get there 😤
I know im only 16 but im deadass scared asf for the future.

Heya, 21's gang! The one answer is isolation
That's how you find out what you wanna do with your life
Only getting bored that you have more will to learn everything

(idk anything about them)
but I'm glad i was able to help in some way, as that is the ultimate goal of this channel.
I am one of the few people in Gen Z that doesn't doom scroll on either YT shorts or tiktok
Good 👍 it only gets harder from here, keep it up seriously
Ey, im not alone!
😕
i was a roblox kid too! did you ever play epic mini games?
Yeah when i was 3 yo i played with legos
Gen Z ended in 2013 not 2009
Also when I was 4, I used to play with my Tablet but do play with toys most of the time which was the best time of life for it, since was like, 9 or 10, I played on my Tablet. Do not call me an iPad kid because after 2018 through today, right now I have a high powered pc, iPad which I don't play as much, a phone and both PS5, 4 and a 3 which my cousin sometimes play on. But generation, mainly from 2020 is just sickening
And I'm 14
I am a gen alpha and even I see a problem with this, and although I use my phone a lot I still go outside, ride a bike, play with my friends offline and still have fun, plus I refuse to get tiktok. Oh yeah I don't use my phone when eating with my family
You are going to be the good part of this generation, never forget that you are the future.
same!
I remember when i was a kid and my father only let me play some mobile games (subway surfers, angry birds, jetpack joyride etc) on the weekend for only a few hours and if i did good on my english lessons the previews day.... next year i will be 18 years old and now that i am older i feel like he did the right thing back then...cant imagine myself being stuck on my tablet for 24/7....my father eventualy bought me a phone in the first year of middle school and he let me have it for as long as i wanted to and from there i discovered my passion for programming...next year when i give my finals i will try to do my best in order to get into a programming university and make him proud for his decision.
i love hearing stories like this
childhood from blasting glass bottles with slingshots and riding skateboards downhill roads plus swimming in the sea and playing football in afternoons after school classes .
this generation of kids and not only is so grabbed out of the real world .
This video should get at least half a million views
the fact that you have only 350 subs is insane you should have hundreds of thousands bc of the quality
Imma get there :)
its insane how the world is changing so rapidly and we are making so much technological progress, yet people arent even using it for its original purpose
It really might seem like these IPad kids are doomed but there is a solution to everything
also crazy video, very well done :>
But, then there are also gonna be those people who are gonna like, oh lemme use this ai and see what i can build with it and gonna make TRILLIONS
idk all this is very interesting, i think imma be okay because of my mindset and i can survive without technology but as SORA and CHATGPT we created someone on earth was born. i wonder what their world is gonna look like.
I'm 22 and honestly, im pretty excited! unless ultron is created or something
Oh, Thank you as always :)
There’s next decades are going to be VERY interesting because it’s so unpredictable
Thank you as always and Good :) or at least use your phone to be productive, it’s a VERY powerful tool
Bruh we living the same life. Definitely grew up similar. Great video!!!
Thank you :)
I really hope your channel reaches more people everyone should listen to this
I really appreciate that 😌
1:28 “oh yes I know that tune” 🐻
15 years old and I have yet to have TikTok and instagram cause I don’t wanna subject myself into this brain rot
10:24
I saw a comment on a similar video, saying something like this:
“Gen Z and Millenials text in shorthand, but write and talk properly.
I cannot imagine being on my phone for more then 3 hours straight, it hurts my head and bores me out of my mind, i play games on my consoles which is still the same as scrolling on TikTok but not as bad not sure
All in all, these poor kids are gonna grow up super unsociable, spoiled out of their god damn minds, and have no physical contact with the outside world other than social media.
Plus im getting into the Army in a few weeks so i hope i don’t die :)
Thank you for your service in advance! but yeah that's really nice to hear, most people can't even phathom a life without their phone and I'm glad to hear some people are still living
@@malikpeace_ Yeah! I mean well at least we get to show off we were able to touch grass more then kid’s nowadays, but who knows lmao
This video has been my thoughts exactly i think the problem within itself is not consumption its mindless consumption consuming content without purpose or without value is what rots your brain keep up the work my guy i hope to see more of you in the future
110% agree and thank you, you shall
the last 10 shorts i watched were mercedes videos i use them to visualize me owning one.
This is a really well and put together video! i agree with many of the points made
i really appreciate it :))
You gained my trust the moment you mentioned four-square
Was one of the best unofficial sports of all time
!!!
3:17 4k has been around since 2001 with the ibm t220 and t221
Ya got me
I can't remember the last tiktok video I have watched because I don't have it downloaded.
Im so glad I came across this video, as a 2010 kid everyday I wish I was born atleast 5 years before because of this future gen shi
Im so glad I had a childhood without technology and hobbies mentioned in the video, and now personally i feel more disconnected from the internet because I wasn't glued to it until age 12 now im 14
great job on the video, keep it up!
it's good you're even thinking about this stuff at such a young age! keep on going and you'll be fine, you're gonna be one of a rare ones
Very high quality content was supprised at how much subs u have
hopefully i will rise within time
Fantastic video! I appreciate the well thought out points, the editing and the humor. You got my sub man!
I'm kinda glad that I can't really get into one of those short clips for some reason.
As someone born In 2012 Great video! I’m also the oldest child and I confirm IPad kids are very bad I try to warn my parents and they won’t listen to me so yeah
Buckle Up! Ready Player One on its way in FULL AFFECT!🥴
A really well crafted video 👍
Thank you!
Great video, man. Deserves more views. 👏
yo this is a great video! great editing and script, you deserve more subs
Thank u thank u, I’ll try my best to
I’m the oldest gen a possible who’s never had any social media other than RUclips. I’ve always wanted to keep it that way.
This video is actually brilliant.
You know, when I like, seven or something, I started a journal hoping that it would be found after I died, because I had nightmares that my presence would just vanish as soon as I was put in the ground. I think it was irrational now, because I can’t do everything else before that.
him describing his childhood at 2:50-3:10 is me right now fr and I'm 14 lmao
This is so well worded; I've never heard a better description of internet addiction.
i try lol
@@malikpeace_ And you succeed! Remember me when you're famous.
i was born in 2008. my parents never let me get a phone until i was 13 and i got my first computer at 8. im so happy that for about 8 years i managed to live a normal life away from screens. im extremely thankful that i got to know what it felt like playing with toys. im gonna do the same thing with my future kids
Now this is some high quality content
Thank you thank you :)
I'am confident that you're going to hit 100k this year.
ill make that my goal
The futures gonna be interesting, for better or for worse.
I had given up youtube, social media and TV for a couple of years. I felt so awesome and got so much done. RUclips is the only one that made it back to my life
I remember singing songs in books in grade school. We did not have air conditioning, and the speaker was in a box, centered above the chalk board!!!
you deserve more man. this is so real
working on it :)
Very good explanation and I can agree
I’m 21 before I got a phone I think at 15 or 14 I did not see the need for phones “they can’t play games there screen is too small for my eyes” I said
Great video man! One of the first videos I’ve seen related to this topic that isn’t so loud=funny
I’m glad I got a phone at 16 and have dreams and things I wanna do in life
When I was 6-7 years old, I only use the tv for dancing videos and dance with my friends, i am born in 2011, and that time i do not use phone/ipad, only the tv, thats all, and once i grow I am playing with my friends and i never heard of tiktok, now im 12 years old using my laptop 24/7, but resting my eyes and play with my sister, i still study tho, although i aint that addicted to screens, I sometimes go out without a screen at all. so u can say i am mixed with gen z and gen alpha attitude.
These are the exact reasons me and my friend dont like our peers.
I seen this video on my home page days ago and I didn't want to watch it but now I do now and great video Malik Peace :]
I was born in the mid 2000's and I didn't even know youtube had that logo! Lol
I remember all of it, now onqish I could forget
0:30 technically we already have AI and VR headsets 🤓👆
Shut the hell up😑
Very underrated channel that deserves more views
thank you :) we shall get there
This vid was too good, keep it up bro
I shall, thank you :)
Those kids are the real ones I’m worried about
Last 5.
1. A friend's tiktok
2. One where nematoads eat spongebob's house
3. A content creator's i like
4. A tiktok meant to have girls say what they are jealous about boys
5. One where somebody gets their windshield cracked by something that flys from the road.
good :) follow up question, are any of those helpful to your life at all? (not trying to getcha or anything just a question)
@malikpeace_ one did. 4. Brought me some insight to what some of them actually think.
The other 4 no.
1. Is just somebody I know
2. Is just the equivalent of some funny meme with a catchy song
3. Is one that posts funny videos but also does TikToks on occasion
And 5. Was just a scary situation.
This is why schools should teach children on how to operate children but the school system is so old and rusty that changed is hard to do, and no one in power is willing to do so because their so out of touch
It also starts at home. Parents are the ones giving them tablets…😢
@@mariaxii but what else can they do teach their kids IN THIS ECONOMY!
Right! Also barely anything is kid friendly anymore. There are barely any safe and free places for kids to just be kids…
oh yeah, the school system needs a huge change most likely wont for a long time
I was 9 when my buddy showed me the stuff when he was 7. There was even a kindergartner at our school who knew about adult content in detail. He was 5. That was years ago. It just gets worse everyday.
5?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I'm 15 and I used to watch tiktok a lot but I saw how bad it was so instead of just deleting it i took it further and switched to a nokia e63 from 2008 and i dont use my laptop anymore. I read way more books now in my free time. however i still have my computer which i watch youtube on. however I try to use youtube to actually learn things.
Congratulations 🍾 on doing that and disconnecting
