    Such amazing attention to detail! Gotta feel good to ride something you made with your own hands.
    The quality of this board is waaaay nicer than a Pyzel I have. Fin box is causing delamination and it’ll break soon. He could take notes from you.

      @Dzjiefoils  3 года назад

      Thanks for your comment! This board is really build like a tank. I could have used a lot less carbon in hindsight. It is a bit heavy. But at least it is not likely to break and it works like it should.
      Delamination is not fun! Maybe you could ask them to repair it or give you a new one?

    • @Dzjiefoils
      @Dzjiefoils  3 года назад +2

      Thanks! I just watched a thousand youtube video’s about surfboard shaping & creating carbon car parts. After that I thought a lot about the whole process and came up with this idea. Next time i will use a lot less carbon because 1 or 2 layers would have been strong enough.

    Do you think it would be easy to add another slot for a battery and make it an electric motorized foiler?
    Also is this your first time shaping a board?

    • @Dzjiefoils
      @Dzjiefoils  3 года назад

      I think there is more then enough room to do that. But I probably don’t have the skills to make a watertight removable door for the battery.

    Hey cool that your board works! Nice project. Can you estimate by any chance the volume of your board and do you know the surface of your front wing? Have fun!!

    • @Dzjiefoils
      @Dzjiefoils  3 года назад

      Thanks man! I’m very interested myself in knowing the volume of the board. As soon as I know I will let you guys know. My front wing is a Naish Jet 1650cm2 2021 model. A very nice wing! The rest of my setup is all old naish stuff. Fuselage and stab are 2018 models. I will replace these old items as soon as I can. The mast I use is 75cm Naish lightweight alu.

      @@Dzjiefoils Thanks for your reply! Cool, I retrofitted an old thick surfboard by adding US rails but haven't tried it yet. I will try to use my kite foil but get a large front wing. Have you tried wing foiling with your board? cheers

    • @Dzjiefoils
      @Dzjiefoils  3 года назад

      Aristide Athanassiadis sounds good! Creating new things out of old stuff! I have never wing-foild in my life so I can’t tell if the board will work during that kind of sport.

    Hi, I’m intrested in making my own board, where did you buy the foam from and and the foil box?

    • @tobybloomfield6193
      @tobybloomfield6193 2 года назад

      And also, roughly how much did this cost to make in total

    • @Dzjiefoils
      @Dzjiefoils  2 года назад +1

      @@tobybloomfield6193 Hi! I bought the foam second hand from a building company. They used it to insulate the concrete floors. You have to look for EPS foam with aa density of 200 or more. The foilbox is from alieexpress.( A Chinese company shipping cheep stuff to the Netherlands, and maybe other countries?)
      I think this whole build cost around 200 euro’s. You can do it for less because I used way too much carbon. 1 layer would be enough.
