James! Thank you so much for checking out my vlog and the kind words. You will not be disappointed. Both Places have great food and reasonable prices in the area. More videos to come. =)
Hot dog you got me craving some bbq. Fantastic video man I loved the juicy brisket squeeze money shot. NC Mike. I liked all of the brisket they made me want to eat dads phone you got to ship us some it looks juicy🤤-Sabi
Hey hey, thank you so much for checking out the vlog and the recommendation. I was planning to shoot a b-roll video of downtown SAC in the coming months. I will definitely stop by there. =)
I ate at South Winchester BBQ in San Jose several times. It is a sister restaurant to The Canyons. I grew up mostly in Austin and Buda Texas. So my standards are high. If I am being completely honest, It is not quite the Texas BBQ I am used to. It seems a little more Cali style with the BBQ salads, use of tri-tip. Garlic bread and corn bread instead of standard white sandwich bread. Also, the smokers are not offset pits like they use in Texas. I am not sure if they use post oak either. Their hotlink is more like a red spicy hotdog, it is not Texas style brisket trimmings sausage. The pork rib sandwich is pretty terrible. They leave the bones in and you have to dissect your sandwich first to eat it. I dont know of any really good spots in South Bay so I have just been going here for the brisket or tri tip.
Been to smokin woods BBQ. Overall I would say the meat was just ok! As the Lady who took my order can I have a mix of point and flat on my brisket, she reply and said they only serve flat. As a person who love brisket and cooks my bbq on my offset smoker at home I was disappointed. I have had central Texas brisket before including Franklins, I wasn't expecting the same level but in my personal opinion I would say the food was just OK! The dinning area was nice and I like the location, But no point brisket is a big no for me. If you know Texas BBQ you would understand. PS. Also notice they didn't trim the mohawk off the brisket, to each their own but trimming a brisket is an important step.
Don't waste your money @ Cayons BBQ. It's way over priced and most of the meat lacks flavor. Most of the side are just a bad. This dude must not know good BBQ if he thought that it was good.
@@urbanadventures579 brisket ribs and pulled pork is all you need from there. Sides aren’t great smoked meatballs are trash. They’re incredibly popular for their sandwiches but I haven’t tried them. I discovered them a couple of days after I returned from Austin TX where I had kicked off the carnivore diet. I like staygold as the best bang for your buck and their consistency but also check out Back Forty bbq in Walnut Creek
Stay Gold! Not the best location but at the top 5 in da Yay Area. Usually so good i don't need sauce... and their sauces are different from the rest. Haven't been there in a while. I wish they would bring back the smoked pork belly. Always enjoyed brisket, ribs, and pork belly. Agree brisket is very consistent. Ribs are almost aways fall off the bone. Man i'm getting hangry...
@@elcentenario1 hey hey, thank you so much for checking out the vlog. You really know your way around the Bay Area. Let me know if you would like to go on a vlog with me.

I heard about that spot. I’ll have to try it. Thank you for checking out the vlog 🙂
Overrated. Over priced. Bland Dino bones
@@GA-uc2um how much was it?

I fucks with slow hand in p hill
Hey Jess !! Thank you for checking out the vlog. I have yet to try slow hand in Pleasant Hill. That may be a stop this weekend. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Tri-tip doesn’t have as much fat as a brisket hence it not juicy and may seem al dente, but cooked the same way as a brisket.
I heard about that, smoked tri-tip? Hardly any places sell smoked brisket. I also heard smoked chuck is not bad too.
@@urbanadventures579 yeah, they call that “poor mans brisket” but it cost more by pound. 😂
@@samskee415 Haha, good to know.
What about Armadillo Willy's ?

Smokin Woods was was barely ok when i went 8mo ago
They’re okay. I would suggest trying Traballo’s in Benicia. They have a huge offset smoker out front. The food is well priced.
Not good when I went and over priced
@@mrhardy7660 Try Traballo's BBQ in Benicia. That is my new go to. They have the long offset torpedo smokers.
Horn is over rated Everett and jones is dry stay gold is where its at best bang for your buck and quality is consistent
I still haven’t tried stay gold. I hear great things about their food. Sucks they kept getting broken into for a while.
