There's just something magical about playing 8-bit titles. Part of the reason I love the Evercade so much is the abundance of these vintage-style games
(1) I bought it. (2) Totally see how it is "worth the money", despite having only two titles on it. (3) It's perfect for the EXP, and no other system -i.e., I'm surprised you played it on the VS with an arcade stick. (4) Unfortunately, my EXP battery just died, less than two months after purchase! (5) I'd never have the free time to play either of these two games anyway!
If you knew me, you'd be surprised if I didn't play it on the VS with an Arcade Stick. It plays perfectly fine that way. I only had to swap the controller for playing that rhythm mini game (and I only had to do it on the hard song).
This is probably my favourite cart so far, amongst some stiff competition. Nice review, explaining the pros and cons and what people can expect. If there's one thing about Evercade, it's that people like different stuff, so videos like this are really helpful!
Problem I have with it is the same problem I have with Cathedral and Alwa's Awakening: I'm halfway through and have NO idea where to go next! These modern Metroidvanias are waaaaaaay too clever
I'd say this is a bigger problem with Goodboy Galaxy than the other two games. In Goodboy Galaxy the game tells you exactly which planet and path to take, but requires you to find hidden areas to be able to proceed with the game.
I love this cart. It's in my top 5 of all evercade carts
Superb reviews for two great games. 👏👏

13:25 Oh hey, those enemies are the protagonists in Huntdown! That's definitely a crossover nobody's going to notice.
Good boy galaxy. The prison level was my favorite.
Me too, just a complete change of atmosphere and mechanics. Loved the drill bits.

Great reviews, Crow. As always. Thanks for the video!
Thanks!
Crow you must be a savant, cuz this game I am finding quite difficult. Have you played Braid or The Witness?
I haven't played either of those games, but Witch n' Wiz is easy enough to decipher through trial and error.

I feel Witch n Wiz seems like it should've been on Indie Heroes 3
Yeah, it does feel like it should be in a collection with more games on it.
goodboy Galaxy is solid for sure

Indeed it is
