2 options: you probably set your device audio to mono via your settings / the earphone has only 1 input line which means it was made to be mono, but since your device is set to stereo only one side is given to each input lines and only one of them can be detected by your earphone

Turns out, this was the video I learned that the iPhone speakers near the home button don’t get split left and right, but the bottom speakers are left speakers and the top speaker near the selfie camera is the right speaker.
Ok so all joking aside I love this video simply because it's on shorts and I can let it auto play over and over while fixing my shit and then give it a thumbs up and close the video and go back to the sound clip I was listening to.
I finally fixed the right channel of my earphones, back from the day it used to be opposite. Now i tried to fix my earphone without any help through online and anyone else, i'm a teenager.
I don't know why, but the first time I hear the difference makes my eye water on whichever side is playing. This also brings back memories of my school's recording studio when I balanced a recording.

try another test video. Maybe this kind of music makes your brain feel confused. I checked this video in video editing software and both channels have the same output level.
As of a few months ago, my left ear can no longer hear ANYTHING AT ALL above 11khz (sudden sensorineural hearing loss) so it’s nowhere near as crisp as my right ear, but over time it’s compensated for that and I swear now I perceive the midrange frequencies as fuller in my bad ear than my “good ear”. It’s strange how the same music can sound so different my two ears, but amazing how the brain can adapt and rewire itself when experiencing dysfunction.
