Nice nice nice. Lovely home and its only going to get sharper and sharper as the season goes on. Surprised at how arm it stayed. I am all about keeping warm LOL. Great stuff Brian and thanks so much for sharing this with your viewers.
Looks great. Gotta love the thermal performance. Even when your interior temps reach 80, and they will, it FEELS so much better than in a conventional build or a trailer. Looks like Banker did a nice clean install too. 👍🏻
I believe you about reaching higher temps, Bill. I know you've got the experience. I was hoping for that comfortable "feel," too, like when we visited earthships in Taos. It's hard to describe, but it just doesn't feel like the space is being "artificially conditioned." Not that we won't have to help it out a little in the extremes, but it's a really good start. Thanks!
😎 Your house should do really well in summer and winter! It's coming along nicely! 62° is the coldest our house got down to this winter. It was 66° this morning, because we aren't getting any sun in the windows anymore. Summer is coming. 🌞🏜️
That's awesome Brian! That temp difference is amazing! I'm hoping our ICCF (The Perfect Block) build can come close to your performance. We're almost done laying block, then onto concrete and then we can finally set the trusses. I'm hoping we can draft Pam and yourself as blowout monitors like we did with Handeeman's pour. I need to get off my duff and put out some more vids. I have tons of content, but haven't had the time to edit. Good job, and keep on building!
@@MidlifePrices having now done the stick built shed, and straw bale house, what would you do if you started from scratch? is the straw build worth the extra effort?
@@andreww7938 Absolutely! The shed is fine for what it is, but it doesn't even compare as far as livability. The insulative properties of the straw and just the "feel" of it inside is really nice. It's killing us to not be living in it yet, but every time we walk in we're just hit with this awesome feeling of comfort! Totally would do it again. As a matter of fact, we still plan on doing a small casita, just for a second bedroom, and it will definitely be straw bale!

Thanks, Don! I was pleasantly surprised, too, as we still have a little sealing up to do around the door. But it's a very good start!
it should do well thanks for the update and have a wonderful day
Thanks for checking in, RG! 🤞

Banker rules. I plan to get them to do my "big house" as well.

If you don't have anything in there to heat the place, I'd say you knocked a home run, the place should be cheap and easy to heat and cool.
No assistance! Very promising. Might still need some help at the extremes, but a very good start. 👍
You guys are getting so close to being done!
Yes and no, I suppose 🤷♂️! Big steps, but still a lot to do. Thanks for watching!
36 vs 64 - not bad!! It's gotta make you feel good. Best t you and Pam! What is you plan for the floor?
Thanks! Plan is for an earthen floor, but still some more research to do!
Awesome increase in temperature. Next A/C.
Yeah! Hoping it will stay cool as well as it is staying warm! 🤞
Yes I will have to install a split unit. I appreciate your support and comments. ☮️🙏☯️
