Eagle Outside Festival Highlights

Mountain bike test directors Nick Truitt and Sydney Fox attended the Eagle Outside Festival, and brought back this footage from the Firebird 40 course.
After a cold, wet start to spring in Colorado, mountain bike racers and visitors alike welcomed blue skies and warm temps at the inaugural Eagle Outside Festival in the Vail Valley this past weekend. The Eagle River Ranch played host to the event, which is the brainchild of promoter Mike McCormack of Breck Epic, stage race mountain biking fame. A stacked program included multiple bike races, a half marathon run-dubbed the Mother-of-a-Half in honor of Mother's Day-and even a longboard race. A healthy cash purse drew many of Colorado's top pro mountain bikers, who were on hand to pin it on Eagle's buff trails. Crowds mingled in the Vendor Expo, where attendees had the opportunity to demo bikes, shoes, longboards, and more new gear.
