This is a very easy 15 mile ride because it's mostly downhill averaging 2% grade. We have e-bikes so we went both directions but if you only want to take the trail down they provide a shuttle to take you back up to the top.
Paul and Liz, my new biking buddies ! Thanks for putting all the adds at the beginning. Love the scenery. I like Paul riding out front, it makes it feel like your with someone.
Thank you. It's truly and awesome ride! After a long break we are back to posting videos weekly. They are now in 4k and have the camera upfront, so no rider blocking the view! Here's the latest: ruclips.net/video/b7Cga3YlQCY/видео.html Thanks for watching and happy riding!
I live about 2 hours away. I rode it 4 times during the summer of 2018, twice in one day - once in the morning and then their "full moon ride" at night. The only annoyance is that the tunnel is wet / muddy. The later in the summer you go, the less muddy it is.
Greetings to you across the pond! Yes, we actually left the area right before the smoke from the Oregon fires moved in. We got lucky with that! Thanks for watching our virtual bike ride on the Hiawatha!
Hi D W, For this ride the bike you see is a Juiced Cross Current X and the camera bike is a Luna X1 Enduro. But thanks for the suggestion and we will include the info on future videos.
These rides are outstanding. This one was beautiful! All of them are very well thought out when it comes to video. And congrats to you both for swimming through the sea of humanity early on in this ride. :)
We really enjoyed making the video and if you ever find yourself near the MT / ID border I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If you're ever near this (near I-90 @ the ID/MT border) this is a must do ride. The views are spectacular and our video doesn't do them justice. Thanks for watching.
This was a beautiful ride that would have been better had a lead rider not spoiled the pristine trailview for most of the ride. Have you thought of perhaps putting the camera on the lead bike?
Very nice What a great place. The only thing I would suggest - up your game and get a 360 vid cam. I am sitting hear thinking it would be nice to look off to the side into the ravine. All the best
Wow...I miss North Idaho. Thanks for letting me ride along...though it would be nice if the camera were in front and followed the rider's eyeline. The views are spectacular but we didn't get to see any of them. (I suspect the camera carrier is female...) This is the first time I've used one of your videos while riding my stationary bike.
Thanks for watching Janna, we loved our time in Northern ID, if you haven't already found them check out our rides on the Trail of the Coeur d'Alene. Here's one of them. ruclips.net/video/I6X97VOcmRQ/видео.html P.S. Yes the camera bike is being ridden by my partner Liz and I finally convinced her to take the lead more often so you don't have to look at my back so much 😉
It is a great trail! As for the License question, I'm not sure what you mean, they are copyrighted but we don't have a licenseing agreement with anyone.
I see you are riding ebikes and have a couple of questions if I may ….. My wife and I plan to ride the Hiawatha Trail in early September and we have been told we needed to disable our throttles and the USFS will check before being allowed on the trail. Did anyone check your ebikes to ensure the throttle was disabled? Did you ride the trail both ways or just one way? If just one way what was your experience shuttling your ebike back up the trail? If you rode both ways, is the grade going up significant enough I have to worry about our batteries going dead? Thank you in advance for your answers.
Hi Eric, we rode both directions and no one checked our bikes - both have throttles. Battery usage should not be a problem because one direction is a gradual downhill so you won't be using much assist and I don't remember the uphill as much of a challenge. The one thing I can't stress enough is that you need to have good lighting, front and back, because there is a 1.25 mile tunnel at the beginning (if you start at the top) that is as dark as it gets - I literally couldn't see my front wheel with my light off (yes, I turned it off to check). It's a beautiful ride that you will remember forever.
When you reached the 2nd tunnel, on the stop sign there it said for bikers to actually Sound their Horns, dont what the odds are of of having bikers having actual horns on their Bikes, but understand that this is because of how dark it actually is in the tunnel, right?
Hi Andrew, I honestly don't recall that sign, which I attribute to still being in shock from that first tunnel 😳 Overall we loved the ride but I was totally not prepared for that 1st tunnel! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Do you all have any Liz Amazing or Amazing Bike Ride stickers for purchase? Or do you all have a Patreon account? I am having the time of my life on my new e-bike and that's in large part due to y'all's expertise on the topic. Thank you all so much. Would love to show our fondness for the channel(a) with some decals!
Sounds like we need to get some decals! Thanks so much for the suggestion. And, most especially, for your support of our channels! Happy riding on your e-bike!
Thank you. No more person in the front blocking the view from now on! Here's the latest, which is now in 4k, too! Thanks for watching: ruclips.net/video/b7Cga3YlQCY/видео.html
After this video we switched to 4k, which made a HUGE difference. Here's the latest, and thank you for watching: ruclips.net/video/b7Cga3YlQCY/видео.html
That's why we recommend you mute and use your own music (or sounds). The sound that comes from the camera is just wind noise and it is not pleasant in any way. Happy riding!
And we understand completely! Half of our viewers love the rider in front...and half don't. So we now have a playlist with no rider blocking the view. Check it out: ruclips.net/p/PL3QmPZKRJusbK6FFVFx2jrnnQR5jeDrKl
The other rider in front is annoying. I would never be riding that close to someone. The ride with the camera should be in front so we can see what is ahead of us. i won't use this ride again.
Join us for this Amazing bike ride down the Route of the Hiawatha Trail in Idaho and Montana.

This has to be on any cyclist's bucket list. Can't wait to see you guys riding in the Fla Keys.
Hey Pedro, Hiawatha is a spectacular ride and we're looking forward to the Key's. GAPCO is next week!
Just enjoyed this ride this AM while on my trainer. Great music and thanks for having a great gimbal on your camera.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Even with a full moon I can only imagine how dark that tunnel must have been at night, and yes "Wet" and "Muddy" are good words to describe it.
Fantastic idea and concept that you have come up with ! Congratulations
Thanks Steven! And thanks for watching.
Love this music.
Thanks Lawrence
Can you give the title to music on this journey
That’s a beautiful part of the world.
Can almost smell the pine fresh air...
Greetings from across the pond.
Greetings to you across the pond! Yes, we actually left the area right before the smoke from the Oregon fires moved in. We got lucky with that! Thanks for watching our virtual bike ride on the Hiawatha!
Looks like you change up bikes once in awhile. Could you add what your riding to the equipment list please? Great videos, really enjoy them.

But thanks for the suggestion and we will include the info on future videos.
We did this ride last summer….great place to visit
Hi Barbara, it really was a highlight of our time in the area. Thanks for watching.
We have rode this 3 times- it’s an amazing ride. Be sure you have head lamps-it gets pretty dark inside the tunnels.
That’s exactly what I needed! I had no light, followed the lead rider too closely and got covered in mud. Happy to hear that you know this ride!
Awesome video! Makes me want to get on my bike and go!
Thanks John! And thanks for watching and commenting.
Look's like Fun Thks 4 sharing !
I sure was John! Thanks for watching.
I´d love to hear the sound of tires and of the ambiance instead of the music, at least as a background.
These rides are outstanding. This one was beautiful! All of them are very well thought out when it comes to video. And congrats to you both for swimming through the sea of humanity early on in this ride. :)
Thanks so much, Jay! We enjoyed both up and down the Hiawatha. Stay tuned, more virtual bike rides to come!
This is an awesome trail to ride! I loved it on my indoor bike.
We really enjoyed making the video and if you ever find yourself near the MT / ID border I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This was awesome! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
So glad you enjoyed it. Have you seen the video we have of it going up? Here it is: ruclips.net/video/_yfjbXSSfDo/видео.html Happy riding to you!
Another fantastic ride. Stupid vehicle blowing dust up on the road!
If you're ever near this (near I-90 @ the ID/MT border) this is a must do ride. The views are spectacular and our video doesn't do them justice.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks going to try and get out there next year!
Did you guys do this one?

Not yet, but on our bucket list!!!
Cool video, I need to bring my bike to Idaho someday.
Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone is riding very slowly?
This was a beautiful ride that would have been better had a lead rider not spoiled the pristine trailview for most of the ride. Have you thought of perhaps putting the camera on the lead bike?
Very nice

Thanks Patrick, some of the views were indeed spectacular and I'm sorry we couldn't show them to you.
Thanks for the idea on the 360 camera.

How do you get such a smooth, stable shot?
Thank you! The bike is full suspension and the camera has image stabilization so that helps, too. Thanks for watching.
Personally, I much prefer the cameraman in the front 😉. That way the view is unobstructed. Just my preference
Thank you. No more person in the front blocking the view from now on! Here's the latest, which is now in 4k, too! Thanks for watching: ruclips.net/video/b7Cga3YlQCY/видео.html

you have a website?
Hi Cat, no we haven't put a website together.
ambient sound from outdoors would be so much better than this elevator music
That's why we recommend you mute and use your own music (or sounds). The sound that comes from the camera is just wind noise and it is not pleasant in any way. Happy riding!
@@AmazingBikeRides then you don't know how to record sound is all. your videos are so nice, shame you leave this important part out.
I want to go if only so I can see the trail instead of some lump of orange. Grow some and pass him.
