@@amphydrox1928 I haven't flown on either. But the cameras all around the A350 is pretty cool. From top of tail, landing gear wheels, etc. A350 looks nice too. But as a right handed trying to use the joystick in left hand to fly would be uncomfortable.

@@---bq1qo No they would designated a pilot as Pilot flying (Pf) and the other as Pilot not flying (Pnf) Pf do the actual flying and also input command to the autopilot. Pnf monitor the system and do all the ATC communications. Captain and First officer will alternate their roles as Pf and Pnf between each flight. Note that on takeoff Captain is always the person holding the throttle as Captain is the final decision maker to reject the takeoff if there is a problem.

I noticed an issue with the dep. taxi. It happens I know, but you guys never took Link23, holding short of 27R, at A1. You took straight on L, then B, Link21, A, holding point A3. It happens sometimes. Amazing video, I loved it!😇🛫

Finally, a refreshing and very educational video without the constant Airbus vs Boeing bashing. I've flown on many aircraft since the DC8 I first flew on in '76 and the Dreamliner just takes the cake as being the most comfortable and gracious plane in the skies today. Those wings flex like a graceful bird taking flight, truly something to experience.
Nice jet but the windows suck, nothing beats a proper shade. Also the crew can mass-dim all of them. Props to American Airlines from banning their crew from doing this. Some of us pay extra for the window and want to see the world go by not watch movies!

Positive climb, gear up. 3 seconds later: autopilot on. Breaks my heart everytime. No more manual flying skills ( probably prohibited by some chief buro dude) Please pilots, do not loose those skills. Fly those machines manually from time to time untill 15.000 feet. Feel what you have beneath your panths.
They probably have great hand flying skills. Turning on the AP early is more to ease their workload in such a busy airspace. Airlines do not prohibit hand flying , but they do promote efficient work load management!
They have simulator training very often and also have to redo certifications etc of what needs to be done in emergencies etc on the simulator so the pilots at bigger airlines that are more rigorous with these things are still sharp af
Thank you for all your inputs. I am a 15.000 hrs instructor/examiner on B737. Read my comments correct: fly ‘from time to time’ the machine with handflying. (Not all the time. Correct not in London airspace). Number one cause for worldwide accidents for decades now is: loss of control in flight. Believe me when I say: 2 times a year in the simulator is NOT enough to maintain handflying skills. When I board any aircraft in the world I just want a person that can handfly the machine without bursting into sweatty armpitts. The newest airliners worldwide are technological beauties. However, they still give you the freedom of flying them manually. Please pilots, do not loose those skills, they might save your life one day.

Can be cost saving as well as airline SOP - autopilot manages the flight profile better. That included with the possible complex departure route (like noise abatement) lightens the load on the PF.

As much as I love watching pilots fly and this mode of flying I think the technology is obsolete and its so overengineered it cant be further engineered. I think research and development should be channeled towards safer lighter than air blimps with perhaps light jet propulsions for reasonable speeds for intercontinental travels.
@@daviddenham1511 I was slightly over the alcohol limit when they came into the cockpit and did an on the spot alcohol test. No big deal. If I'd been driving a car it would have been legal but pilots aren't supposed to have any alcohol before flying. I was on the lash the night before and had quite a lot to be honest but thought most of it was gone. They overreacted in my opinion.

Goes to show confirmation bias exists even amongst the most experienced pilots. That's why checklists exist for the most critical planning stages.
