In honor of Scar Symmetry's latest banger The Singularity (Phase 2), I present the ULTIMATE (but rather short) Scar Symmetry medley spanning their entire career thus far!
One of the first things me and @BradleyHallGuitar connected on was our BIG love for this band. I've wanted to make a cover of one of their songs but found it actually impossible to choose just one. It was also impossible to cut down to just these tracks here!! This was by far the most challenging cover I've ever done in terms of arrangement - mostly due to the extremely complex vocal layers, textures, and harmonies that Scar Symmetry is famous for. I've left a LOT out but I think I would have never released this otherwise 😆

Scar Symmetry? Woah, what a nice surprise! All these covers of yours where you get to use multiple techniques are always so pleasant to my ear, you have such a unique sound but at the same time seem to be capable of doing anything :D
I'm so glad I found your channel, I'm a long-time vocal nerd and metalhead and it's so rare I find new personal favorites, but I think you've definitely joined Floor Jansen as my favorite singer of all time! Your growls remind me of Angela Gossow, whom I also greatly enjoy, and I can't even think of anyone else who does the clean low singing so well, I think your Kamelot cover I heard even surpassed the original in my book.
I think a full version of one of these would be great... but i haven't decided which one.

Artificial Sun Projection sounds like it is written for your voice.
If there was vote for one full song, I could vote for almost any SS song. They somehow manage to write only great stuff. If forced to choose one song at gunpoint, I would go for Morphogenesis/Scorched Quadrant/The Anomaly/Overworld (thus getting the bullet).
Was hoping she'd do that part from The Illusionist. You know the one.
This video unlocked a lot of good memories in me, Scar Symmetry was one of my favorite bands in the late 2000s and it had been a while since I listened to them.

My only thing Im bummed out about is that the Neohuman section didn't continue into one of the greatest solos ever written that happens right after haha. But such is the nature of structuring a medley. You gotta be able to make the parts flow and sometimes sections from songs gotta get left on the cutting room floor haha.

This is really fun to watch and I find myself coming back after a while; one of those songs where you get a lot extra from the video. Kristin has so much power in her expression that at times it leaves you almost overwhelmed.
Would love it if you and Adrienne Cowan did a collab recording of This God Is Dead, when I found out ya'll had done this live I almost lost my mind. Seven Spires covers in general would be awesome to hear

@frankwulf5774 many different subgenres use different types of harsh vocals. Black metal typically uses sheer screeches. Scar Synmetry is Melodic Death Metal. It's a genre that marries the melodies and harmonies of nwobhm/power metal with the energy and harshness of death metal. Scar Symmetry uses a combination of clear male vocals and hash mostly exhailed growled growls.
