Am I the only one to notice how well folks used to speak in the late eighties and nineties? The folks in these shows are generally very well-spoken.
I really think entertainment and music F'd us......Think that was pre Howard Stern, Jerry Springer, and Gangsta rap.

You're right. People did speak better then. Before the 80's/90's speech was even more educated sounding. With each generation, it gets worse. More words are abbreviated and the language just sounds bad.
They're being interviewed, genius. People are automatically more formal in that situation.

I agree with your assessment of the host, as do millions of other viewers. I don’t know how many other people he was competing against, but the person the producer hired - the casting director - to find exactly the right candidates did a great job.

The blob rain is unresolved. Mike McDowell one of the epidemiologist on staff at the Washington State Health Laboratory. drew the conclusion that the material itself was manmade and was being used as a matrix. A vehicle capable of transporting a virus or bacteria. He did report his findings to his supervisor. When he returned to the lab at some point he discovered the substance was missing. Again he reported this to his supervisor and was advised at that point to not ask any questions.

The update on Young Lay's son is crazy. So, one of Daphne's murderers was an ex gf of Lathan's. She was raising Le-Zhan as her own child. Both she, Le-Zhan, and Daphne's other murderer, Latasha's cousin Osienetta Williams all lived together for 6 years until they were discovered. Osienetta testified against her cousin for a lighter sentence. She served 13 years and 8 months in prison and was released. Latasha was convicted of murdering Daphne and sentenced to 37 years in prison in 2004. Le-Zhan was reunited with Lathan's family but.....was not reunited with him because he had been sent to prison in 1998 for armed robbery. He was released in 2010.
Poor poor Le-Zhan. He didn't choose to be born and he gets stuck with absolute refuse of the earth for family. He'd be 25/26 now. I hope he's been able to get out of that toxic situation.
His mother seemed to grounded & able to offer some balance.

Update: Daphne Boyden and Le-Zhan Williams case. In 2002, Latasha Brown and Ocienetta Williams were arrested for Daphne’s murder and Le-Zhan’s kidnapping.
Update: Selim passed away in 2000
Selim was an AIDS patient who sought alternative medicine to help manage the complications of AIDS. In the final stages of AIDS - partially paralyzed, lost vision and diagnosed with a deadly brain virus PML, he, along with his mother, left his home in Beverly Hills California to visit Dr. Hong Liu in December of 1994. Dr. Liu is a Chinese doctor who uses ancient medical practice of Qi Gong to help heal his patients.
Shortly after the beginning of his sessions, one of Liu's assistants removed Selim's leg brace which he had utilized for mobility. Next, Liu told him to rise and to their astonishment, Selim was able to stand without support. It appeared as if Liu was using his energy to keep Selim standing. As a result of Dr. Liu's practices, Selim was able to improve and within six months he had regained mobility on 80% of his left side. He was able to walk without a brace or crutch and his recovery amazed his Western doctors.
Selim eventually died six years after his visit with Dr. Liu from complications from AIDS. However, many give credit to Dr. Hong Liu for extending Selim's life and activity during his final days.

I always been curious about the Oakville blobs. Being this happened back in 1994 I doubt we'll ever know what happened I wonder what a psychic or remote viewer might say about it?

It can't be a coincidence that those gelatinous blobs dropped from the sky around the same time as all of the military activity was going on above town. It's just too bizarre to not be something thought up in the human mind. They said that Oakville was just a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, but in fact it's only 29 miles from the city of Olympia, which is the state capitol. Even less as the crow flies. I loved how the residents had their own theories about it. I would have loved to be at a town meeting about that! lol They're probably not too far from the truth.
P.S. it's got B-movie written all over it. I wonder if anyone ever made that film?

The goo rain happened to a much smaller degree in Western Ma last August, 2022 - was more of just a small shower but definitely fell on my windshield and I immediately thought of this episode.

I'm wondering how Selim is doing now. Edited it to say: I found this Selim F Babac (1962 - 2000). It's an unusual name, I wonder if it was/is him. The nineth season was filmed 96-97 so if it IS him that means he lived 3-4 more years which is pretty good considering the death sentence he was handed.

Found the segment on Qi Cong extremely interesting!!!! Why??? because, unlike other alternate medicine, this doctor of Qi Cong encouraged his patients to continue with regular "western" medicine treatments in combination with his treatments. An ethical and moral approach, IMA, particularly when people are suffering from great pain, extreme side effects, and/or fatal illnesses. He was very clear that Qi Cong was not a cure but maybe could be of assistance in everyday life.
Or it could just be placebo effect and he could be one of millions of quack doctors that say they have the cure to the newest bad disease to cash in
