    Great review! I'm looking between these and the Salomon Stance 84 / Atomic Maverick 86c. I previously had Nordica Navigator 85s which were great for carving, but didn't have what I was looking for in the trees / off-piste. Which of these three would you recommend for someone mostly riding groomers but loves to take it off into the open and off bumps / small jumps whenever possible?

      I really think the Stance has more to offer here. The Atomic is very quick and light, but the Stance feels more natural and intuitive both on and off-trail.

    How would you compare these to the Head Kore 80 X? I'm a low intermediate skier on the East Coast. Doing a lot of research for my first pair of non-rental skis, and a bit overwhelmed by the information. The turn radius is different (16m for Dynastar and 13m for Head) - would the Heads be too aggressive for me?

      The M-Pro 85 feels like a more complete all-mountain ski while the Kore is more comfortable in shorter turns at more moderate speeds. This is reflected in the shorter turn radius for sure, and while the shape may seem aggressive in that it's short, it's really meant to keep skiers on edge and in control while the longer arc of the Dynastar allows for more creativity and speed.

    Hi. I'm looking for a mid-80's all mountain ski with a shorter turning radius and softer flex that would be good for skiing moguls. I've been skiing a pair Blizzard Rustler 9's as my daily driver for the past couple of years. The Rustlers have been good in the moguls but have been a bit rough on my aging knees and back in the bigger and firmer moguls of Colorado and Utah. I've been skiing for 50 years with an average of 30+ days per season. Based on reviews, I've narrowed my choices to the Dynastar M-Pro 85, the Volkl Kanjo 84, and the Salomon Stance 84. Of these 3 skis, which would you recommend - or do you have any other recommendations. Thanks!

      You're in the right spot--those three are fantastic! I like the Stance as mixing short turns with bumps. The M-Pro is a bit longer of an arc and a stiffer tail while the Kanjo is very precise and reactive--the Stance is a great mix of attributes that you're looking for.

    Hi! I was all in with this M Pro 85 (from a previous inquiry I made) and eventually saw the large review about the M Cross 88... now I'm puzzled again between the M Cross 88 and the M Pro 85 😅
    Which one has a higher ceiling in performance? What are the highlights and trade offs between choosing one or the other?
    Reminder of my stats: Level 1 instructor, advanced skier, 5'11 and 75kg looking for an all mountain ski 65/35 piste/off, for all day 9-17h use (therefore not too fatiguing but fun and responsive enough). I already own Elan SL Fusion for piste and rent +100mm for deep powder days.

      The M-Pro still has more versatility to it, and a slightly higher performance ceiling as well. The M-Cross is more flexible to accommodate the shorter radius. I found the M-Cross to perform exceptionally well on groomed surfaces and in a carved turn while the M-Pro felt like it wanted more adventure in its life. It seems like based on your stats that either will suffice, but the 65/35 split seems to be more M-Pro to me.

    How does compare to the Nordica steadfast 85? Graphic is fire

      I feel like if you watch the footage of both Steadfast and the M-Pro, the difference is clearly seen in the initiation phase of the turn as well as the finish. In the central zone, both skis are very grippy and energetic, but the Steadfast really does a great job at diving and driving into the turn a lot earlier than the M-Pro. This gives it a smoother tip to tail carved turn and better on-piste performance. That said, the M-Pro is considerably more at home, relatively, in softer snow, crud, chop, trees, and bumps. The fact that the Steadfast is a system ski takes some of that all-mountain versatility away.

    Mpro 85 vs declivity 82ti?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  8 месяцев назад

      There's more versatility to the Dynastar. The Declivity is happier in an on-piste format while the M-Pro likes it everywhere. I think if you're on trail more often than not, the Declivity is a stronger option, but the M-Pro is easier to ski and has a lot of all-mountain upside.
