I love how this is a fight and not just a curbstomp. Garuda was making changes in how she fights to try and win. Switching from long range to acrobatics, using bird legs, and talons to get an advantage. This was really fun to watch.
well uh for me it was a curbstomp lmao. no matter what she did i would just fucking run through her attacks and drag her through the dirt over and over. my friends that were watching couldnt believe that i abused garuda like she was a side npc. still my favorite video game fight on god

My first introduction to Ifrit was from Final Fantasy 10 and I’ve loved him ever since. Somehow they managed to make an early game summon even more badass than he already was
and now they turned garuda into a dbz character

@@CpTn_QwRk absolutely not, the games usually don't connect to one another. Only a few similarities here and there. Example: in every known final fantasy game there is a character named "Cid" but he's never the same guy

The Eikon battles are so epic, it gives you a adrenalin rush while playing it with a big smile on your face

The bahamut fight was so unbelievably epic that I needed to stop playing for a couple of hours, I don't know why, something like that happened to me before in sad or extremely offsetting scenes but not by pure excitement 😂

not the flashiest, but the most choreographed eikon battle in the game. God what a work of art
I really appreciate the simple brutality of a flaming creature just holding its opponent. Burning is a horrible way to go, so Ifrit just holding Garuda down while heating up is the most brutal part of the fight, and that's saying something considering Ifrit pulled her leg off earlier.
This first Ifrit fight with Garuda really sells the clash of monsters that the Eikons are especially being able to see the forest before and after.

I like how in this fight as Ifrit compared to the other fights the camera makes it feel like an out of body experience for Clive since he isn’t in control of Ifrit at this point

The whole fight felt like Ifrit is bullying Garuda while she's desperately fighting to survive
I just finished this battle like 5 minutes ago. I only got hit once, but I think it could have gone either way.
Ifrit was always one of the more powerful summons, a late stage one typically, so it makes sense.

Did this part lastnight, and guys I swear on that QTE at the end when ifrit is burning Garuda, I was so hype and immersed into the fight I was yelling like a monster as if I was the one burning her myself lmao. I cracked up afterwards. Such a fun experience.
Beneditka’s fight into garuda’s fight had me hyped the whole time, was left crying at the end after Ifrit used hellfire. The whole thing invoked something special inside of me wow I still cannot fathom how much effort was put into that spectacle of a cinematic.
Glad I'm not the only one who yells like Ifrit when he's out! I swear, anytime he shows up, I don't become the serious and badass Clive like we're used to - I become the second Eikon of Fire.
Ifrit really when through a lot of changes from humanoid to beast, this latest one is the greatest.
He is now a Godzilla slapping hoe's across the face with his tail.
Couldn’t agree more. Ifrit is really a major threat and should be taken seriously this time around. If Square kept this up for Ifrit in future games, he could be the most memorable Summon yet.
I do believe as the games went on they gave more character and evolution with ifrit becoming more attuned to his beast fire demon roots and loosing more human like features to become more powerful even his horns grew more pronounced and shows his strength and power

Love it how Ramuh basically says, "Pipe it down!" with *style* ... god, I'm loving this game! It's Devil May Cry meets Bayonetta but it's Final Fantasy so we can AVAVAGO with Bahamut instead of Gomorrah!!!

I can't believe they did a small nod to the FFXIV theme of Garuda in the beginning. Really shows how much Naoki Yoshida and Soken value the time they've spent and continue to spend on FFXIV.
Had this fight yesterday and it blew me away. The whole thing gave away major Godzilla and Aot (the regenerating limbs) vibes. Played a lot of ff games (7,8,9,10,12,15, remake) but this one is really different but in a good way.
FF 16 is like combinations of 8, 13, and 15.
Loved this epic battle. I was lunging so much that I didn't use fireball once - just wanted to go pure brawl style.
You can still finish combos with magic just as Clive :)
Notice how Ifrit’s eyes are yellow here. In future fights, Ifrit’s eyes are Blue, meaning that control of Ifrit has been obtained. Here, Clive is not in control of Ifrit
And its fighting style perfectly shows it.
It's completely unhinged, like a beast of hell.

Absolutely feels like this could be a final boss. This is the most epic boss fight I've seen in years!

@jdiabl035 The way that the demo framed the camerawork in the final scene with Ifrit made it seem like he was merely watching Ifrit kill the Phoenix, not from the pov of Ifrit itself.

I like how this fight becomes more like a desperate battle for survival the second Garuda realises Ifrit is going for the killing blow with *every single attack.*
She actually varies her attacks, tries to weaken it, and then attempts a killing blow.
Ifrit straight-up tanks and dodges EVERYTHING she throws at it and every single one of its attacks is aimed at killing her.
I love the QTEs. they just show so much of ifrits ferocity in his attacks hence the close up to him roaring while palming garudas face lol.
I knew it was Clive, the trailers made it obvious, they didn’t really try to hide it.

Just did this tonight and it was AMAZING! Had to come back and watch. Avid FFXIV player here, also played VII, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIII, and now this one. Epic, epic, epic!
When Ifrit is becoming Feral Chaos:
Clive is the well written Jack Garland.

jack is written just as well as final fantasy 1 garland which isn’t really at all.
@@femto7579 nah, FF1 Garland was charismatic in a "dramatic supervillain" kinda way, Jack was kind of a tryhard who tried so hard to be edgy he ended up being funny.

By the end, Jack Garland became Chaos to save the world from Lufenia's grip... but was it worth killing his own friends and becoming a villain to ultimately become a hero who had a role with the end of Chaos itself?
This game is amazing man I don’t wanna finish it. Cant wait to see the rest of the boss fights later in the game.

I was screaming at my screen while mashing square for that Hellfire buildup. I just beat this fight in my playthrough, and I can't wait for more.
They could not have picked better voice actors for this game. much love to Ben Starr, Ralph Ineson, and the the other voice actors, devs, writers, producers and all of the team. thankyou for this awesome game

Garuda wasn't the smartest of all Eikons from what i can tell.
I like when the song cues at 1:28, showing the flames surrounding Ifrit like Satan has arrived

My favorite thing about this fight is the lunge smacks garuda to the ground as if Clive/Ifrit told her to sit tf down

This fight kind of reminded me of Annie vs Eren Titan fight. It’s awesome because you can see them both really scrambling to win with their lives on the line, all out.

I don’t know what anyone’s says. But FF16 has to be one of the best FF games gameplay wise. The Eikons Fights always kept me on the edge of my seat.
Gave me Godzilla/Attack on Titans fight vibes. Which are both successful franchises.

I haven't veen so exited on a vifeogame in a while. Even other next-gen sre enyojable, but this is just plain fun. Nex gen graphics, badass music, excellent battle mechanics and game design.

Most of the Eikon fights are pretty memorable but this is arguably my favorite. I think the sheer brutality of the combat between Garuda and Ifrit just really highlights the realities of war. The battle with Bahamut is epic but this is so visceral.

This fight is the only one among the Eikon battles that they really get "down and dirty" with it, two beasts of destruction tearing eachother apart in a giant crater, absolute cinema

Not since fighting Metal Gear Ray with Metal Gear Rex have I felt such power as a towering kaiju.
We do NOT have enough Kaiju games. The ones we have I absolutely cherish, such as Godzilla Save the Earth, War of the Monsters, King Kong PS2, Gigabash, and Dawn of the Monsters.
This was the first true eikon battle in this game, and the first boss score that made you realize this soundtrack will be one of the greatest game OSTs ever made. Soken far and away deserved his award

They got the self-destruct hellfire(that looks great) and then the meteor version(which is ok).
Kinda wish they didn’t do the whole “ person/monster slain” score screen right during a cinematic moment, takes away the immersion
