BMW E38 are absolutely the best cars ever made. Period! I had an E38 730i V8 and drive it for 23 Years as a daily driver and over 300K km. Only parts to fix in 23 years was the gas and the water pump, nothing else, not even the brakes! When i sold it i regred it until today. I buyed a newer 7 series 745iL and really i would never do that again. Today i have still my B12 No. 044 of 071 since day one only one single owner. Better then every other cars that i owned, even my Boss 302 that i have since 25 years is no comparsion to this legendary car. Absolutely the best Car ever made. I hope there are some "german Autobahn" in heaven, so i can take it with me:-)
This car and body style the last generation of BMW I would own again. I still like newer BMWs but this body style beats the new style all day way more aggressive and way more fun to drive.
This makes the new 7-series look like joke cars. This must be the most beautiful 7-series ever. Its strange, how Alpina works so well in the 7-series. I have always disliked the 3-series Alpinas and even on the 5-series the E39 B10 Biturbo is the only one, I liked the looks of.
Honestly, I thought this was a 750i with Alpina rims and steering wheel. They’re usually IL formed, not short wheel base but this is just speculation so I’m not sure
Or the M7 we keep wishing for. I recall seeing one without the Alpina badging some time ago; a real beauty. Anyway, the comparison to the M cars is quite valid as Alpina's versions often tend to be ignored in favor of their, shall we say, less unassuming cousins.
