    This has been super informational/helpful for me. I’m consider getting a discovery tail as a first tail. I’m curious whether the fluke has drainage holes or whether the fluke fills up with water and becomes heavy? Do you have any insight on this? Thanks!

    • @siennaskye_journey
      @siennaskye_journey Год назад +3

      Hello! I have a discovery tail. There are no drainage holes. It does become heavy after taking it out of the water, but all you have to do is flip it over and it drains out the opening. It has no affect on you when swimming though 😊 Discovery tails also have no Vinyl because the fluke is smaller and fit exactly for a Linden Monofin.

    Loved this video! If you haven’t already made one, would you ever make a comprehensive video on silicone tails and the maintenance of them? I don’t have one yet but am definitely getting one in the future!

      I would measure the dimensions of the fluke and compare that to the dimensions of other fins. Nerdmaid faith has some great videos trying out different flukes with different tails.

    Is it okay to keep my monofin inside my tail when I’m not using it? Or is it bad for the tail?

    • @TheBallesterosArchives
      @TheBallesterosArchives 7 месяцев назад +2

      Overall answer is no, but here's more of an explanation if you are interested. With or without a vinyl, you should store everything separately to protect the tail. Having the vinyl and/or monofin inside the fluke while not in use is a bad idea b/c 1. it will stretch out the fabric and weaken the elastic a lot faster than if you pull it out and 2. it will increase the chance of mold, mildew, fungus, etc. growing in/ eating through your tail.

    Hi im new to this channel any idea where i can get the vinal instead since i have an off brand fabric tail i got from Amazon.

    • @chaotickryptid2274
      @chaotickryptid2274 Год назад +4

      Personally I don't believe there is anywhere to get the vinyl separate as it would need to be made to fit the tail fluke shape. Amazon tails which include things like that are very dangerous (fins shattering/etc). If you're looking for a more affordable first tail from a reputable and safe tailmaker, I highly recommend finfun. Amazon tails are notorious for not only being dangerous, but for also being stolen art 😢 good luck!!!

    I am afraid to take the vinal apart since I am afraid that it it will not be attached proparly to each other without gaps

    Each Fin folk tail comes with Vinyl?
    Do you know more tails ( from other companies) that has Vinyl in their tails?

    • @Cymopolia
      @Cymopolia Год назад

      Most higher end fabric tails come with a vinyl, the only one that doesn’t from what I know is Mermaid Lucia

    • @dianarose2683
      @dianarose2683 Год назад +1

      The only ones they make that don’t come with vinyl are their discovery tails, since they are made to fit exactly around a Linden. I have both a signature tail and discovery and I love them both! The discovery is very convenient since I will just travel with the monofin in it and use the storage bag/backpack the linden comes in to haul it. When done swimming, I just take the monofin out and then roll the tail up and toss it in a little drawstring baggy until I get home to rinse and dry it.
