I recently got into the hobby and I'm in love with it. HG Zaku 2 Char was my first gunpla ever and my favorite show is 8th MS team with the Gouf being my favorite mobile suit. Being new to the hobby I'm not sure on what to choose when it comes to the Gouf. I want one but which should I choose? The MG Gouf 2.0 or the MG Gouf Custom. I'd like whichever is considered the better model kit but I'm having trouble figuring out which one that is. Which is the higher quality Gouf model? The 2.0 or the Custom? If anyone could advise me I'd greatly appreciate it.
The Gouf 2.0 is for sure the better model in terms of detail and construction. However, the Gouf Custom is still a decent kit for it's age and just looks bad ass.
All the 08th Ms Team suits deserve a 2.0 or their first kit for MG. Though I would fear the newer proportions (my personal preference of course, I dislike the tiny heads of the newer HGUC/Revive Ground Gundam and GM). There's the Gouf Custom, flight type, the Zaku I and Zaku II Jc, Ground Type Gundam and GM (GM Sniper probably P bandai if it were to happen) and Ez8. (I do not have hopes for the Mass Production Guntank though hehe)
if only daban have the gouf 2.0 frame and then they can make it happen, i mean they already have the zaku II 2.0 frame they can make the zaku II F2/FZ work and the Efreet series if they modify it right?
It's just sad how few MG's we get anymore. It used to be one every other month. How many new MG's have we gotten this year? Narrative is the only one I can think of that's actually new.
You could use the MG 1/100 RX-178 Gundam Mk II version 2.0 Titians or A.U.G.E. versions. Or the MG Hiyakushiki, they are all from the Zeta Gundam series. And I know that there are other MS in MG form from the Zeta Gundam series to choose from. It’s just a matter of what you can find these days. Good luck and happy building.

At least we have the HG, which has aged better. But seriously, Bandai, why does the Gouf Custom MG get no revive.
Mg is harder to make mold for i think

Maybe they're focusing on Gundam or GM on MG class right now, next year could be Monoeye MG days ( maybe ) 😅

I still have one in the box...
Nice.
Now that we've had Epyon, I think an RG Gouf Custom would make for a good candidate. A 2.0 would be great too, but I'm jus' saying..."
