At the 29 second mark, you hear Richard Dawson say “there goes the number one rusher!” At no other time does one hear the term rusher. It’s only runners and stalkers. I’ve always felt that was a little Easter egg as a nod to his NFL career.
This movie was great. All the bosses were really cowards behind a flashy facade and were having fun basking in their clout and fame until they f***ed with the wrong one.
Yes it’d be real interesting to know they got their roles… to see the story from their eyes and their daily life, prior to this movie. Indeed Captain Freedoms words to Killian suggest to me that he was a bounty hunter or in the forces. In any case they must have had good lifestyles with their well paid contracts and a Cadre Credit Card.
@@wintersun398 Oh wow that’s be a great reason for a prequel spinoff. I wanna know more about Dynamo now. Was he just an arrogant opera singer that had an addiction to fast food and take out pizza? Did Buzzsaw work for a tree removal service where he sweat beer until noon everyday? It has me so curious now.
yeah I think the gadgets/persona of the stalkers would be influenced by their job or personal history. Just imagine for a moment Killian interviewing potential stalkers during each season casting… similar to how he picks Richard’s (“I want him”) after dismissing other Runner candidates. I think SubZero would have been an ice hockey player before dropping out. He skates very good!
Captain Freedom was different. His specialty was martial arts, wrestling and brute strength. He didn't need any weapons or gadgets. He just beat the Runners to death.
@@xxdomoxxkunxx I wouldn't be surprised if Smash TV was at least partially inspired by this. To be honest, I kind of what another game themed as a satirical "Lethal Game Show".
@@SergeantPsycho I know it's all based around the Most Dangerous game from ages back, but it's sort of a genre. Hell we have the whole "battle royale" game genre in modern gaming nowdays
I don’t remember 2019 being like this and having kill human’s games for entertainment, but then again after two years of covid I cannot really remember 2020 and 2021 lost in some weird time lapse
@Why The Hell Was I In Star Trek 6? I wouldn't be sure about that stupid, your profile however looks fake to me. Edit: * SCREEN CAP * That's in case you start throwing out your bullcrap lies to Twitter and Reddit.
It was a tank of gas (propane??) which i guess would be about 25kg. I wonder how many seconds of burn he got out of a full tank. He seemed pretty trigger happy tbf
I want to do a sequel of the Running Man where Captain Freedom is the one thrown into the game and has to run for not killing Richards in the first.. But Jessie's a little too old to reprise Captain Freedom so it'd have to be done with other actor's taking over for Jessie, and Arnold so it's not weird.
so cheesy but i usually like to fantasise how it woud look if it was really real and happens theas days that how i ve always gotted all out of theas old ones so good
You do know it was a bit of a gag/Easter Egg since Fireball is played by Jim Brown, a running back for the Cleveland Browns back in the day, right? For a good while, Jim Brown held the record for most career rushing yards.
The 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots died in the Yarnell Hill fire inside their fire shelters, so it's not without real world precedent. Nothing is fireproof, only fire resistant.
Fireproof not explosion proof. The blast hit his exposed head and ingnited his flamethrower and rocket pack. Also he was already covered in fuel from when Richards tore his gas line.
Maria: “Jesus Christ!”
Arnold: “Guess again!”
I love this movie’s one liners. 😂😂😂
Now Jim Brown has just passed to heaven at ripe old age of 87. RIP Fireball.

Caught that too! Guaranteed that’s precisely why they had him he say that. RIP Jim Brown.
This movie has so many gag lines, for instance: "Jesus Christ!" "Guess Again!!"
Arnis one-liner. 😉
I love this old films.
Arnold always have great one liners in his top movies
As a 80s kid Friday night cardboard pizza watching running man good times
Just imagine a game where it's nothing but boss battles but the hardest difficulty is medium at most
That's called Boss Rush mode.
Fighting games
Rest in Power Jim Brown.

@@wintersun398 Good call on Sub Zero. That’s like the alternate storyline of “Happy Gilmore” if there was one.

"Guess again!" - I've seen this movie a zillion times and I never caught that one. Way to go, writer's room!
Yea the writers had a field day with this movie, one of the many reasons I like this movie was the witty dialogue
Richard Dawson was the perfect bad guy.
Kudos to him for taking this role
Surely they could have just outrun that 80 year old man?
That moment when you realize you’re essentially in a Megaman-styled arcade game, and so you just start chucking barrels like Donkey Kong.
I think like that occurred to me. It seemed strangely video game like.
Comes off like Smash TV mixed with the Price IS Right mixed with WWE/WCW/WWF

So, the best order is...
Kongman, Fireman, Zeroman, Dynaman, Buzzman, Patriotman, Dr. Killian?
It’s the idea of hunger games
It may be a tad off the mark from Stephen King's original story, but it's still an entertaining movie.
Just a tad
A "tad"!?
Just read the book recently and it doesn't really hold up. The movie's better. RIP Fireball.
i guess his hair is fireproof. but, that was a fun movie...

Fire bolt had a jetpack flamethrower unit... That has to be either insanely cool or stupid depending on how you look at it 😂🤦🏻♂️😂
stupidly cool?
Awesome but impractical.
Knowing how it ends for him..... Stupid.
Just like the Batman villain Firefly.
This is the movie that informed Arnold's choice in maids.
R.I.P. legend Jim Brown 🙏🙏
1:03 Spanish: Oh, dios mío, porque me pasan estas cosas
Hope the show didn't have subtitles on for her. Kids would be learning all sorts of new phrases
She said it so fast I couldn't pick it up, though I know what she meant in English.
thank you for the translation !! x
As if a guy wielding a flamethrower wouldn't be wearing a fireproof jumpsuit...
I remember watching this as a kid, me and my classmates used to think pink flamethrowers were the strongest 😆
FW de Klerk lookalike at 1:08 😂
Fireball now his Deadball 😂
2:00 Arnold「Uh-Oh ! you're terminator ! 」
May the iconic “Fireball” RIP.
My gas line! My gas line! 😂
This movie won some oscars, didn't it?
A lotta
They are running
And fire ball is just walkin briskly
I "guess" the equipment was rather hefty?
"ghehtto hiya, gah!"
no wonder she ran in the wrong direction

If this movie was released in 2020 it would have to be called ‘The Running Person’ 😂
The running LGBTQ+ person
Great movie.
One of the best ever ! Real life !

Clearly the most threatening one of 'em all here.
0:56 ¡ FIRE !
"I came back from space, with one vision: THE WORLD SET ABLAZE!" (probably misquoted this though)
Isn’t that a line The Fury said in MGS3?
is this where the idea for the fury from metal gear came from?
They are stalkers not rushers

Well, he tracked them down due to the injection they had received prior to the game, so he DID stalk them at first and then went in for the kill.
0:31 ¡APLAUSE!
Its Jason Bourne
0:06 MANUEL 2 ARRIVES TO MANZANILLO

Yes.
yes
Hence Killians comment, "the number 1 rusher"

Hé has a fireproof suit but gets killed by fire? Plz explain….
Ceramic pots are fireproof, but food still gets cooked on the inside
More of an explosion is what did him in

🤣Nowadays the roles would be reversed. Arnie would be a weak beta male with the all powerful female saving the day...
