What I will always find a little funny is that Sam Wanamaker, the actor who played the main bad guy in this film, had actually helped recreate the Globe Theater in London. I went there a few years ago with my wife, and it's so striking the difference between a Shakespeare play and getting blown away by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
This highlights what's missing from modern action films. That funny dance they do when they get hit like at 2:00, or looking like an absolute gooseberry when they go down, like matey at 1:40.

Yeah, but for some reason every time they needed to reload, they acted like they had had a weapon malfunction and were palm-slapping just about every part of the revolver apart from the ejector rod.
Love this underrated B movie it's just a classic 80s action scene where the hero takes out the bad guys Its pure entertainment, joy and escapism with minimal CGI effects. This movie is pure toxic masculinity at its finest no woke girl boss poppycock.

First, Sosa sends an entire platoon (or his entire army) to Tony Motana's mansion for not following his orders in a mission to kill a journalist, and they succeed. Three years later, he gets an entirely different gang (or, at least, becomes part of one), and none of them stands a chance against a lone (former) FBI agent (who becomes the town sheriff).

@@philleotardo8760 Agreed. It's not that good. I totally agree with you. It's a generic gangster film with Arnold in it. I've seen so many of Arnold's other films many, many times over many, many, many years but I had never ever seen "Raw Deal" until recently and I was totally bored out of my mind with the movie. For sure, one of Schwarzenegger's worst films.
Notice: all the guys are shooting revolvers, except the guys shooting Uzis. None of them are using automatic pistols. Only one scene in the entire movie, one guy had a 1911 45 automatic, after Kaminski busted up the gambling joint, and he said “ I’m going to kill that Bastard”.
Yeah everyone in the film used revolvers mostly predominantly 38 special snub noses and some longer barrel ones and a few 357s the guy who got shot with the uzi in the stomach making those funny sounds is using a 44 magnum Taurus back in the day they were like only a 150 bucks now they are like 450. I think it's because In the 1980s mafia men in Chicago all used revolvers so it would make sense even the cops standard issue was a 38 special model 10 sw back then. I own 3 38s and a single action uberti 357 magnum wheel guns are awesome.
@@gabrieldesta2113 One of the main reasons they used to do that, is, if they had to shoot someone, there wouldn't be any casings left behind. Old school Mafia hits actually had a procedure for this - Law & Order went over it in one episode. You fire into the ceiling/air once or twice to get everyone riled up, put two or three in the target (depending on if it's a 5 or 6 shot snub), and leave one or two in the cylinder in case someone tries to stop you getting out the door. With no ejected casings, you didn't leave behind a potential source of evidence (finger prints, ammo manufacturer information, etc.). Using a snub-nosed or cheaper revolver meant you could dispose of it some time later, as far away as possible, while hiding it on your person very effectively. A two or three inch snub nose revolver was also easier to bore out the barrel's rifling (less work, less material to remove/destroy, a smaller tool can be used, etc.) if you had to go that route. Yes, there was a science behind why they used and preferred small revolvers. A small hand full of true professionals these days, still adhere to these teachings. ... ... ... No, I'm not one of them. I heard all this 'from a guy' while I was growing up in Chicago, years before the L&O episode aired.

The extensive use of iconic guns like the mp5, the UZI and the 44 magnum are really present in this movie. And I love it.
Interestingly enough, the MP5 is actually a civilian HK94 converted to fulllauto, while the "Uzis" are mocked-up MAC-10s :)

First rule of shootout sequences : the killer never takes the elevator or the stairs so don't waste your bullets.
