These are such powerful lyrics, sung by a man with a powerful, enchanting voice. RIP, you are missed.

I am from Denmark . RUNRIG made me sing/ understand a little bit of Gaelic.
As Donnie Munro stoppeIbelieved that this would be The end of RUNRIG, but…. Then there came this Australien guy.
I have heard RUNRIG soooo many times at Tønder festival ( Small folk festival).
Bruce Was SO humble. He told how nervous he Was, takkng over. I could feel that he meand it from his heart. But The first 15 years i valles him “ The New one”.
      ( Sorry about my spelling).
I Was ( of cource) to “The Final Mile” here In Denmark - and The mod was not happy at all. Absolutely no happy ending.
I never headthem st Stirling Castle. Only here In Denmark.
But I followed Them sove i was WERY Young and they only were known among a Small quantity of people here.

My favorite song, you sing it perfectly. I would say rest in peace, but screw that, you belt this song in the afterlive, let them know that millions of scottish people will be going to your concert in the new world. We might be small, but we are mighty, when it comes to our favorite scottish band.

for anyone to take over as lead singer in place of donnie would be some challenge but Bruce more than smashed it,other bands fans would be split as bruce fans or donnie fans but not runrig, they love and respect them both in equal measure as well as the rest of the band, anyone who was ever part of Runrig has my deepest respect and this song is just a brilliant example of their magic and up there with the best all time scottish bands or singers

Loch lomand is the quintessential tunrig song but for me hearts of olden glory is so much better and this performance of it is up there as an incredible live performance ❤ bruce was a legend and imo this is the best runrig song...

I just now learned of Bruce’s crossing over. He will forever be remembered for his voice…and although I didn’t know him personally he seemed like a truly person. Rest easy, Bruce..but always raise a bit of Truth when needed. 💚

    I Love it
    There's thunder clouds
    Round the hometown bay
    As I walk out
    In the rain
    Through the sepia showers
    And the photoflood days
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
    Of life
    And though the water's
    Black as night
    The colours of Scotland
    Leave you young inside
    There must be a place
    Under the sun
    Where hearts of olden glory
    Grow young
    There's a vision
    Coming soon
    Through the faith
    That cleans your wound
    Hearts of olden glory
    Will be renewed
    Down the glens
    Where the headlands stand
    I feel a healing
    Through this land
    A cross for a people
    Like wind through your hands
    There must be a place
    Under the sun
    Where hearts of olden glory
    Grow young

darren gray This song was requested to be played at both my mother and fathers funerals, and it was. They discovered it listening to me playing it in my bedroom in my early twenties. Probably the only time our music interests properly collided, when my mum knocked on the bedroom door and asked what *is* that song was brilliant.
